    Default Reinstalling and Backuping DDO

I am about to do a reinstall of DDO and I was wondering if there is anything I can save or copy to preserve in-game settings such as friend lists, UI settings, hotbar settings, etc.

    C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\ddo.keymap

    and perhaps:

    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Turbine\Dungeons and Dragons Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml

The first is obviously your keymap and the second is all the launcher settings. However, if you are experiencing problems with your install you might want to replace these files.

Thanks! Will my Friends list stay intact, or do I have to do an Export-Import?

friend lists are stored per character server side.

you can export to import across characters if you want.

    I know of two files:

userpreferences.ini which contains general game, UI, graphics and audio settings, and:

ddo.keymap which contains your DDO key mappings.

The hotbar locations and contents, friends lists, etc., are all stored on the remote server.

Both files, as well as any screenshots you've taken, are in the same place (in "\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online" on my XP system) (Note that this is different than the place where the actual program files are located.

If you have enough CD's to spare, copy the installation files from your computer to CD, then back to the new computer. Saves a few hours of download times after a reload.
