Doom of the Witch-doctor is the 6th part of the Splinterskull series. It is comprised of the way into Inner Splinterskull as well as defeating Zulkash.

To echo what others have said doing some of the 5 star challenge the first time are freakish xp. I do not like doing the challenges myself, but I join my guildies when it comes up and oh man. Reminds me of the old school gianthold back when levelling was totalling different and you ran a level 8 character in crucible for sicko xp, but those were the days. Good guide though overall.

Thanks for that Mrcow, don't suppose that's easily farmed solo xD

Its easy to come here and throw this numbers to make the op look foolish.

Invaders 3 minutes? With optional? Doubt it..

Cabal 1 minute? I can see it done in around 3-5 mins on normal zergs.
I can see Trial by fire done in 3-4 mins.
    Maze of Madness 3-5 mins
What are the 1 minute runs on GH? Can you elaborate on that or post proof that it can be done?

**I usually just farm GH on elite since its easy enough and net more base xp.

Necro4 ghosts in 2mins? Also unrealistic.
" yadda yadda." So are you implying that are other 2 min runs in Orchard? I would love to see that.
    Trial is 3min pretty regularly.

Invaders is 3-4min, but only in a solid group-and skipping the last optional. Solo it is typically a lot slower.

    Ghosts usually 3-4min.

The 2min ghosts/1min cabal where done by guildies; I was not even in the group at the time (and they were probably 2:59/1:59ish type runs). So I don't have screenies obviously, but I believe them.

It is probably possible to do vol in 2min, not so much for fleshmakers/inferno.

As for making the OP look foolish...not at all. I'm a huge fan, actually. Was just trying to make some suggestions based on the TR path that my guild generally follows. Knowledge is power, and if a quest has a technique/strategy that allows it to be done faster, I'd want to know as well. For instance, I'll definitely be looking into the challenges now at level 18.

Sure it is. In fact, it's easiest farmed solo. The farm here doesn't include killing Zulkash. That's the Doom of the Witch Doctor: Herald of Woe quest. The farm is Doom of the Witch Doctor: The Way to Zulkash. At this point, you've opened the gate at the end (and can enter the second part (Herald of Woe). You get the XP once you get to the gate. So you simply invis and run to the gate. You have to open a few doors along the way, but you just reinvis after opening them and keep running. Once you reach the gate, you may have a train of mobs following you, but it's not a problem since you can lose them all instantly by proceeding to the next part, then recalling out and repeating.

Yes, they're *slightly* unrealistic. However, they are semi-regularly achievable on Normal runs in very experienced groups designed around zerging this content as fast as possible. Most experienced TR groups will not hit these times, since they aren't designed around (and don't care about) attempting to shave a few seconds off a run so they can claim a "one minute" Cabal that actually took two minutes minus one-tenth of a second.

His group also isn't hitting those times every run. Those are his group's absolute best runs, and those runs typically come towards the end of the farm. If you start off with a seven minute Cabal, your group should have that down to four minutes by the time you're on your sixth run, say. If you start off with a four minute Cabal (much more experienced group), you group may hit that 1:59 second run by the time you do your sixth run.

Only works on Hard/Elite as you said though, I suppose its cause Normal has the Blighted-oozes-dont-split bug?
Either way, normal is ofc easy.

The quest is very good for solo caster as well, 3-4 minutes on the time, so prob just under 4-5 actual.

Ah ha, that makes a lot more sense now than my previous thought. I was thinking I'd have to kill the witch doc and such, though those spiders (the princes) are a pain to get past even on invis. I'll work it out though Back to the grind. Thanks for the help.

Also, the quest resets itself if you don't complete the inner part, so no window grabbing is necessary, and you can hit all difficulties you want. Quite convinient.

That's a bad idea if you actually want to complete the next part after you're done with farming, since you'll get a reentry penalty. Instead, after hitting the door threshold and getting xp, double back to the shrine and just recall from that room.

Going back to the shrine is unnecessary. Just GO through to Next part of quest.
Its much, much faster and less risky as the trash will follow you to shrine and could eventually be fast enough to kill you.

    Once you are done farming:
    Get out of tangleroot!
You don' t want to run Elite level 6 quest (lvl 8) with a level 3 character. 8)

Now, If you really up for the challenge then:
if you are solo, grab a hireling and it will reset your instances.
if in a group recall to tavern and reform group.

We just jump through and then when we've ran it 4 or 5 times we go back to the inn, split and then reform for the regular run. takes like 2 minutes total.

Exp. retreat + invis. You outrun the spiders, just go on past, no stopping. The only other tricky part is re-applying invis when you open doors. Otherwise, the run through tangleroot quests are pretty easy, regardless of difficulty. You might get some dungeon alerts on elite, so some care is needed there.

Im sure Mr. Cow has a video on how to do this, its been a staple of TR levelling for a long time.

Yep works if you have a group, if you're soloing tho you have to use hirelings and I always forget hirelings

Plus, 2 minutes is 2 runs, more or less

Get a folder and a keep a stack of low level (cheap) hirelings in it to use for resets. The Inn reset takes 30 seconds, not two minutes. You recall to the Inn, reform, and teleport right back to the beginning of the quest. Running to the Shrine is a waste of time, and risks death.

After running these first 4 quests, ongoing elite streak, having elite BB, having Greater Tome of Learning, gulped a +20% XP potion you cant reach level 4 after farming Witchdoctor, and I assume you only mean "Doom of the Witch-doctor: The Way to Zulkash", since the next quest cant be entered on a level 3 char.
At around 42K XP and still missing 20K to reach level 4.

Missed some repetition somewhere or a quest?

That's exactly what we do when farming Doom of the Witchdoctor. You can't actually go through to the next part, as you have to be level 4 to enter (we run Doom at level 3).

Nope, that's the quest progression we use to get to level 4 every single TR. The only thing you didn't list was a 5% XP ship shrine. That doesn't account for your missing 20k though. I added some additional notes to the lower level quests.

When you complete Recovering the Lost Tome, are you XP capped? You should be before running Information is Key.
