    Default Ninja Spy Assassin

    (Old version in code box at bottom)


    New version, more dps with lower dex (high enough for gtwf), lower int, lots of str, and powerattack, stun, improved sunder

    This build features
    * Stunning fist at 10 (base) + 10 (levels) + 10 (wisdom) + 10 (stun wraps) = 40 (plus other bonuses)
    * Improved sunder at 14 (base) + 10 (str) + 10 (sunder wraps) = 34, 37, 40...
    * Touch of death
    * Very fast attack speed (greater two weapon fighting + Air stance tire 2)
    * Trap skills
    * Self healing
    * Abundant step
    * Uncanny dodge
    * Fast movement
    * poison/disease immunity
    * almost 400 hp before any equipment (or draconic feat)
    * 7d6 sneak attack damage
    * +20% +20% improved recovery (didn't want to spend 12 ap on the last, figure this is a lot anyway)

    With master of bonfires stance, +1 exceptional and +6 enchant bonus to str, we have a total of 30 str.
    Wisdom would be at 30 (with the stance), only including a +6 enchant bonus, could go much higher easily with better gear

    It's still a dark monk with trap skills

    Gets the benefits, but at a lower DC and lower HP, wisdom has taken the biggest hit

    Hmm maybe I'm mistaken, but:

    1. Assasin 1 doesnt give vorpal. It's Assassin 3.
    2. Wind stance doesnt stack with Haste afaik.
    3. SR 22 is useful till maybe level 12.
    4. 10 Str will make your DPS against Fortified mobs... low.
    5. No IC: Bludgon, no power attack will make it even lower.

    The survivability looks nice though.

    If you're finesse, why not Acrobat? It's not like you're going to be assassinating anyone.

    The requirements for this build are very steep. It would be nice to see a low-requirements version (28 or 32 point build, +2 tomes).

    With that many monk levels, you should be using handwraps for the increased attack speed (they're about 10% faster than other weapons). More attacks per second gives you more chances to land a vorpal. :-)

    Two Weapon Defense doesn't work with handwraps, so you can drop that.
    There are a number of import feats missing:
    • Stunning Fist
    • Power Attack (more damage!)
    • Improved Critical: Bludgeoning (more damage!)
    • Improved Sunder (reduce enemy fortitude and fortification; helps you land sneak attacks and get full damage out of Touch of Death)

    Spell Resistance 22 on a level 20 character is pretty worthless. Virtually all the casters you encounter at that level will bypass it even when they roll a 1. It looks like that's the only thing Monk 13 gives you. Fighter 2 would give you another feat, +1 Fort, and a +1 Str enhancement. Rogue 7 would give you another 1d6 Sneak Attack.

    Speaking of Strength, I'd reallocate some build points to put more in Strength to increase your damage.

    For skill points:
    • Dump Hide. As a Ninja Spy, you can become invisible at will for 15 Ki. Or use clickies or pots or scrolls.
    • Drop Open Lock to 4. With decent gear, that's still enough to open nearly every lock in the game
    • Max UMD instead so you can use Heal scrolls.
    • Consider dropping Spot, Tumble, and/or Jump, if it will let you decrease your starting Int to get more Str.

    Why so much Toughness? Surely you can afford to drop a couple to add, say, IC Blunt, Stunning Blow, maybe Quick Draw.

    I think you would get a lot out of rogue 7 / fighter 1, and getting Haste Boost 3.

    I also think you would get a lot out of abandoning Assassin. You're spending 11 AP to get 1d6 sneak attack, where you could instead spend 6 on the aforementioned Haste Boost, 6 on Human Versatility (drop Item Defense), use Rogue Haste Boost and Human Damage Boost at the same time.

    I have found a good rule of thumb for HP is +185 from planner to game, or in your case +165 as you have already entered the Con tome. This puts you at 559 with Improved Evasion, so you can absolutely drop some Toughness feats without too much trouble.

    I am not positive, but I believe you put 1 level-up in Str, 1 in Dex, and 3 in Wis? I think you would greatly benefit from swapping Wis to Str.

    i think once halflings get inate assassin tree, a nice build might be 12mk 8rgr ninja assassin tempest.
