    Default Ninja build

    OK - So I have been trying to come up with a "ninja" flavored build that is incredibly versatile and still functional. I wanted lots of useful skills and abilities without having to have a whole inventory of raid gear and a +4 tome on every stat. I came up with this 32 pt Helf build. It can do it all: traps, sneak, evade, self-heal, heal others, use scrolls and is very agile. Aside from a +2 wis tome, a +3 cha tome, DT outfit and some GS goggles (which arent too difficult to aquire except for the +3 tome) all other items to make this build pop are a few common named items and generic gear. All said and done, my main stats and skills unbuffed except for worn equipment are as follows:
    STR-22 , DEX-28 , CON-20 , INT-20 , WIS-24 , CHA-24
    FORT-27 , REF-32 , WILL-26 , AC-47 , HP-400+
    DD-43 , HIDE-35 , SILENT-35 , SEARCH-38 , SPOT-43 , TUMBLE-45 , U.M.D.-33
    My plan is to go Acrobat II and Ninja spy I with a pally splash for Cha bonus, LOH, Divine Grace, Aura and heal wands.
    So my main weapon will be a staff for a while but, by the end i will be able to use short and long swords and still stay centered. Shurikens will be my primary range. Between my fists, some named kukris, and kamas, i have alot of different weapon possibilities. So i present the "Moondancer". Its a rough draft so please feel free to provide feedback if there is anything i can do differently for an improvment. If u dont care about using arcane wands and having some social buffs, u can go human and get an extra feat.

    The build is all over the place. Stats too spread out, essential feats missing, WSteel Strike and no TWF feats but the intention to dual wield later on, 1 THF feat, a bunch of Toughnesses, no DPS feats. Gets arcane wands from UMD but takes Sorc dilli.

    The build might be able to do a lot of things like traps and UMD, but it cant kill. No focus, no synergy. Put it down now rather than after grabbing a few levels, saves time.

    I would suggest getting a build from the forums to play and learn about the game while levelling your character.

    I hope I see what your looking for here.
    1.Versatility
    2. Wand/Scroll use
    3. low grind
    4. Ninja flavor

    I'm going to leave your build alone and just stick to the synergy of what I'll suggest for you.

    The split: 13 rogue extra die of sneak att dmg and another special rogue feat. Just to good to pass up if your already taking the plunge to 12 rogue. 6 monk for ninja spy 1. 1 fighter more bab, hp, Combat enh 1,and a feat.

    Race: Dwarf hp and combat DC's

    The lv progression: Purely for feat/skills progression.

    The Flavor: What kind of ninja isn't an assasin?

    The Playstyle: Mostly unarmed. The sneak att dmg at handwrap speed (in air stance to boot) will be crazy on this and with imp sunder and oppertunist (air stance also has good synergy with this feat for the double strike) the fort on some of the booses out there can be greatly reduced. You do have the option for swapping in eGaros Malice and eMidnights Greatings when you want to assasinate things (though yoour DC might a bit low).

    The gear/grind: Some of the best stuff for this come out of P and D epics as well as sub raids (tharne's and tharak wraps) both easy to get pug completions in. I did include a full set of +2 tomes the only ones that you realy need are the dex and int (eat these at lv 7 if you can) the rest are just gravy.

    If you realy want to use q-staffs I sugest 'the big f'in stick' thread, but that being said heres my take on what your looking for:

    Thx for the input - did think of going 13 rogue with this but, the 2 pally gives me divine grace and the cha enhancement to boost my saves and umd (was trying to hit umd32) - I felt that all my saves being 25+ and hitting UMD32 by the end would be better than an extra d6 of SA - I know this build is lacking in the DPS department but i still do have a BAB of 15 which isnt terrible - Would it be better to tone back DEX a little and make STR higher? I realize my stats are spread out but, for the AC and skills to be where theyre at it was required - Is there any way to squeeze a little more DPS in this build without altering it drastically? Instead of so many toughness feats, maybe spend 1 or 2 feats on something to boost attack?

    You've already stated that you dont want to grind alot for gear... so as far as AC goes... forget about it. Ac at end game isn't realy that fuctional unless you dedicate almost everything to it and grind like heck to get the gear. Not only that but your shooting for a rogue based toon and the last thing you want is aggro and if you dont have aggro your not getting swung at thus not needing AC either.

    Another point that could be made is that AC is a form of dmg mitigation and with NS1 you get shadow fade when thats active thee is a 25% miss chance on you, also with imp evation you'll be less likely to be hit by things that can be evaded (mostly spells/traps) or at the very least take half dmg.

    BAB is a factor in DPS but not a huge one much bigger factors are things like base dmg, crit multiplers, crit range, swing speed (the biggest one you have going for you), and off hand/glancing procs.

    You should be more worried about Str than Dex or even int for that matter. You say you want it for AC and skills, and I've addressed the AC already so lets move on. Think of it this way with the exception of of elite gianthold (one optional room) and eVoN5 your trapping, hide and MS skills dont need to be higher than 56 geared and self buffed (because you should never rely on ther ppl for buffs you need). After the golden number of 56 (lower for spot mid 30's - high 40's?) the rest is being overbuilt and could be called a missed opertunity to bump something eles up.

    As for swapping feats to increase DPS there are a few options here. The first being twf or thf pick one and stick with it get all the feats for that line (regular, imp, and greater). With your build in mind I'd say twf as hand wraps will be you best dps output against most things (though some of the nicer short swords might be better against the higher fort mobs). Also, do your self a favor and look at the epic/named longswords that are currently in-game. After you have seen how pathetic those are git rid of WSteel. I have yet to see any realy good builds using that feat (other than maybe a solar build).

    The two pali is meh at best for a rogue split imho. Yes, it will boost your saves, but thats about all it does for you at the cost of 1/10th of your over all build. If your realy set on this I think a better route would be to go helf and get the pali dill, insted of giving up 1d6 sneak dmg, 3% double strike, 10% fort bypass, and a fighter feat. Dont for get when thinking about your saves on a rogue-ish toon that you should be wearing a +5 resist item, gh, and haste if you in a situation that you know your going to need your saves (total of +9 to all your saves) and you should always have your dex and con item on as well (+3 to reflex and fort saves). With those things going for you 25+ saves are easy to get and keep.

    As for UMD the magic number you want to hit is 39 for no fail heal scrolls (and a host of other goodies), and that can be done with little grind.
    +3 golden (what ever its called from delera's)
    +3 tier two gs chr skills (you can get 3 more on this if you want to grind/buy large mats)
    +4 gh
    +3 from +6 chr item
    thats a total of 13 (many more options out there with a grind) making a base of 26 a no fail.
