That's just the point. If the treasure was devised with a 10% chance, you'd never know about it anyway.

With all the characters across all the servers you may have, do you really think what one character throws away will really make a difference?

I am trying to set aside Monday nights to play around with this idea. I have one other person who has agree to abide. You don't have to adopt this idea. Read the previous post concerning "Manatarmss".

Next thing I'm waiting for is the experiment with only using a robe, a club, and a trash can lid for a shield, while on a raid.

    Ah, but don't you see?
We now have expanded the experiment "above and below" the original concept.

Tidbit: All characters at 1st Level (Fighter, Rogue or Spellcaster) have the same combat ability in Melee!
(Spellcasters DO hit things with sticks!)

Now all you need to do is limit casters to casting spells ONCE per level and you really have the old school DnD.

    Initiative rolls.

    No edged weapons for clerics.

Need to add a "Pick Pockets" skill.

What else was there? Memory foggy....

Default Even /emote expressions are dangerous in here!

*Cogs attempts a *face/palm* at "wimpy wompin' wascals", "pick pockets", and "old school", there-by striking himself in the face with his corn likker jug.*

    THUD!

Default Guild Airship arrives for use.

The THAC0 Guild Airship has been outfitted and is ready for use.
It has a Bar, Small Guild Chest, Mailbox and Navigator.

All Guild Members are invited to begin using it for meetings and such.

It SEEMS that ANYONE can set up hookpoints on the ship, which I don't like the idea of because other than the four items I placed, none applies to THAC0.

A gentle reminder....no other hookpoints are to be set up. They represent the DDO way of doing things.

Default Changes to basic build format coming our way?

    =

A friend told me that DDO is planning to change our enhancement system to more of a "tree" system this summer, to make it more like "other MMO games".

    Is this true?

If so, will it affect our group in a positive or negative manner?

In all honesty I doubt it will affect THACO play style at all from what I've seen of the new enhancements system so far.

What Difficulty do you like to play and can you give reasons?
    I would be very interested.........

Personally, (Duh!) I create a character much the way I created them some 30 years ago. A random set of stats with maybe 1 Stat 16+. A character cut from common cloth doing what most would not, risking their lives for an income.
Magic Items in that older system would be rare indeed. A precious thing it would be to see a +2 Longsword!

In order to do this, you would have to play DDO at Normal (or even Casual) Difficulty. Even then there seems to be a Magic Item in just about EVERY chest.
At this Difficulty, Monsters seem to be...well....Normal. Individuals seem to have about the same hit points as you assuming the same size class and all.....
DC's and damage isn't scrolled up to the point you NEED a lot of artificial "Buffing" just to survive.
That's the way I look at it anyway.

    "Challenge is a Relative term".
"Fun is the product of your expectations".

If it's "Fun" for you to dominate the arena, then it's just as much Fun for another to triumph after a long, drawn out fight, or even another to solve an encounter by stealthily sneaking past the brute.

    Default I'm in! (( Finally!))

I've been trying since the old forum shut down to get in to this one, getting an unable to respond, try again later message over and over.

Percivull got some assistance from the guys tonight and even though the same thing was attempted last night to no effect, I tried again. This time resetting "My Account" worked.

Great. As soon as everyone chimes in that they can participate, we can begin again to discuss.
