Yes. The 20% of Max Weight Allowed is more than enough.

Repair in DDO is 1) very cheap and 2) too easy.

But Repair is like Encumberence.......present but not in the "MMO" theme.

For my own curiosity, I will not repair equipment at all and see how it affects my character.
This is NOT a suggestion for a new guideline, but I offer the suggestion to any of our "experiment" group(s) if they
wish to inject a bit more "Classic" to our gameplay.
For any who would argue "but we repaired equipment in PnP!?"....I say normal repair is "assumed" except that ALL the damage to a DDO piece now be considered damage that could not be repaired under normal circumstances, ie. "all damage is permanent damage".

This would be similar to our view of "dying"......we don't die in quests, we are injured so severly that revival HAS to be accomplished between Quests.

The consequences of doing this will vastly change the way we play!
Maybe this needs reiterating. This "idea" is meant for Turbine Eyes, and secondly, the "no repair" idea is MINE to do. For any who WANT to check this out, please do, but is is NOT required.
(There are SOME who STONGLY disagree with this concept so is will not be a guideline suggestion.)

Last gamenight provided a good idea of what to expect.
    Understand first, the reasons.......
Repair of equipment is too cheap and permanent damage is too small. (IMO)

The concept of NOT repairing damage, but regarding it instead as Permanent Damage, has lent itself to the ever-elusive DEATH CONSEQUENCE.
At lower levels, before Raise Dead is available, death meant removal from the current adventure and losing any potential Experience PLUS any Treasure found afterwards.
After someone gains the Raise Dead ability, that consequence is rather moot.

Now....if you consider any damage taken to equipment, especially when you die, your equiped stuff suffers for it.

In discussion with the Fellowship, one theme persists......if you do this, eventually you won't have ANY Magic Items left at all.
In theory, I agree, but in practice, I think otherwise.

Anyway, this idea is NOT being considered for a Guideline, but an option for anyone wishing to "notch up" their personnal challenge factor.

Last night, Tukcc (mistakenly?) fell into a ravine filled with nasty "dog things" and was torn to shreds.
His Armor, Weapons and, well, everything that was equiped took from 2-4 points of damage.
This damage will not be repaired and when something eventually breaks, it will be considered "lost".

This adds another concern when preparing for an Adventure......."Is my Equipment in good enough shape to last?".

This past Friday my brand new (non magical) robe took so much damage it was broken. Since it was non-magical, that didn't really have much of an affect. This wasn't a character in your group but it does show how quickly things can break.

Your "non-magical", "cloth" robe was ripped beyond repair?
    Sounds normal to me.

At this point, I don't know what the long term repercussions will be, but that's why I'm doing it.

(Get out there and buy a new robe. Stop running around nekked!) :0
