I don't know if somebody has mentioned it yet, but going str based opens up more flexibility when it comes to lootgen weapons.

If you are looking for smiters / banishers / disruptors / whatever effect you can't craft, your dex based rogue is limited to light weapons, while a str based rogue has the full choice between all the weapon types he's proficient with.

Even more if you are willing to use master's touch scrolls.

If your str isn't far behind this won't be much of an issues, but especially at low/mid lvls when those effects are only found on +1 weapons you'll have issues with your to-hit using heavy weapons.

The to-hit problem with Dual Wielding affects both STR and DEX, at least until you have ITWF at least. Going Acrobat until 12 is one solution, more acceptable for STR builds since THF weapons get 1.5x the damage bonus, and more if you can stand with PA most of the time.

The vorpal-effect weapons (Smiters, Banishers, Disruptors included) for Finesse'd toons are not exactly limiting, since you can still find those in a wide range of 'light' weapons, though of course including the non-finessable weapons actually make it broader.
Sarlona: Sagarana (Drow Roguenought) / ~Katrynna~ (Human Assassin) / ~Jcuervo~ (HElf Emerald) / ~Jwalkers~ (Human PM)

What i meant was that if you are looking for example for a disrupting blunt weapon to beat down skeletons, all the dex based rogue can look for on the AH / brokers are light maces,
while the str based rogue can look for light/heavy maces, morning stars and warhammers (if willing to use MT scrolls).

The chance to find a disrupting weapon among 4 weapon types is much higher.

Same goes for weapons you pull yourself.
That shiny anarchic burst of smiting heavy mace in the end reward list is useless for a dex rogue if his str is too low to hit things with it.
