Default Epic ADQ2 - A way to recover from TK (prior to completion)

Epic ADQ2 - A way to recover from TK (prior to completion)

One thing that really annoys me about EADQ2 is the telekinesis. When you fall off you are basically stuck at the bottom piking until the group wipes or completes. With the changes to make this raid harder is the TK really needed? It seems to be random who goes and in the case of you tank getting tk'd it can sometimes lead to a random wipe.

I am not asking for some easy button as I am sure all the hard core people will come here and complain. I am asking for a way to get back up/ save the person. Say a person gets TK'd off. Allow the party to jump down, kill some mobs to open the portal, regroup and go again. I mean I guess the raid entrance is short enough to just reform but it's not fun. It's not fun to be TK'd off the edge.

Honestly they need to just remove her TK. It's dumb and doesn't make the fight any more challenging, it just adds an element of luck to it. If one of your healers gets TK'd, it will usually (eventually) cause a wipe in most PUGs. In every fail I've had with that raid, someone had been TK'd near the start of the fight.

I say let the DQ keep using TK, but give it to the players as well. While you're in there devs, let me summon up that uber knockback/knockdown shield that air elementals have. I'd never be able to actually engage anything, but they'd all be knocked down so I just have to run over them 3000 times to kill them. If the mobs can do it, I want to as well. Please also allow me to cast chains and encasement. I'm only half joking.

Haven't tried it yet, but does a spell absorption item (PLIS/Mantle/EMirror) work? So far, I've been using invis when I run that on my fvs. Been thrown off twice. Could be much worse I think. But I am curious about these items and their effectiveness.

If memory serves me right, when this was released there was a portal at the bottom that would take you back to the top (and patrolling efreeti at the bottom).

The portal exists and is usable in normal-elite runs. It just doesn't open up until after completion on epic difficulty.

They should probably just put the portal at the bottom at all times, but add a Disjunction effect to the lava down there. That should be plenty to discourage players from jumping off to escape danger.

I like that. Add in the fact that a couple fire elementals and efreeti swarm anyone that drops down there, and it should be reasonable to have the portal in prior to completion.

I'd rather not see TK go away, but would like something tweaked so that it isn't a rolled 1 and raid wipe.

That actually made me think of another raid where rolling a 1 could mean a wipe. In ToD if a healer were not wearing boots and got banished, it could lead to a wipe. In that raid they have the boots that can make this a non issue. I know it's not completely in flavor, but having the Boots of Anchoring "anchor" you to the floor in the DQ chamber could be a nifty little fix. You'd not be required to wear them, but if you wanted to ensure that rolling a 1 wouldn't send you flying, you could have them on. Also I like that the name matches what you'd want it to do in there.

I like it. I mean I could see people being angry that they think you "need" ToD boots, but I would prefer there is an option anyway.
