    Default Aftermath/prelude

The events leading up to what transpired seamed dreamlike and surreal. I vaguely recalled setting out into the Canith Manufactory looking to aid House Canith yet again.

With despair I surveyed the situation we had found ourselves in; I had failed not only House Canith but also the Undying Court. We lay scattered and fallen, beaten and battered to a one, the mighty avatar of the Lord of Blades loomed over us.

The metallic grating angelic voice of supreme power spoke.
“Other powers have had their chance to mettle in your mortal affairs now it is my turn. Go back to the nexus point that drew the core together. All of you shall go, not just the ones that first formed. I cast you back to the ship wreck; this time you go as powerful warforged instead of the weak vessels of flesh that most of you are. I am certain some of you shall hate this gift but over the time of your travels the gift will grow on you. You will learn to crave the power it offers and learn to embrace being one of the superior race. Let us see how powerful you can become when you return to me, perhaps then when we meet again things will be different and fate will be kinder to place you on the winning side…on my side.”

As I awoke on the snow covered beach I realized something was different, NO much was different…

Default Chapter 1 - A not so cool return to Korthus

The cold was the first thing I noticed that was much different, despite the cold I did not feel it the same as I had before. I looked at my metallic reflection in the icy water and saw the body of a dark green metallic forged creature looking back.

I had been here before and quickly made my way through the cave helping Jeets and Celimas promptly arriving at the Korthus Tavern.

It was quickly apparent that I had not been sent back in time alone or unchanged as I heard the all too familiar whining of Feyhjan moaning about how she was no longer a drow princess. Her new warforged shell somehow seemed to suite her icy interior. Asgorath was the least changed of us all and the warforged body seemed natural on him as it should have. Poor Kicking tried to no avail to fill a hunger that could never be slated. My kindred companion Kyleria seemed to be in shock of the state of affairs and said we could call her Asuwish. Dallog was strange his voice seemed vaguely familiar at first then it changed to a mechanized drone, his memories seemed scattered and a little friend called ‘Scoti’ followed him around. I was heartbroken in my own way, my link to the Undying court had been fully severed and the ancestors had abandoned me. Where my spirituality once resided was now an empty burning void that needed to be fulfilled.

Most of us had been to this place and time before only it was different now with these new construct bodies. On our adventure across the island the void within me grew firery and destructive, I would need to be fill it or be consumed by it.

It took little effort to save Korthus once more from the dragon, the dragon that we had killed in another life, and we were soon on our way in a boat to Stormreach again…

Default Chapter 2 - Same sewers different stench

The sewers of the Stormreach harbor were all too familiar as we drowned the swarms of kobolds in rivers of their own blood. The one thing that was quite refreshing and different was these new bodies lacked the sense of smell and in many instances this served us quite well, no gagging on the noxious sewer fumes, and no chocking up our last meal at the scent of a filthy trog.

It is said the warforged race were constructed to do battle and our experiences rang true as we handedly dealt with every task placed in front of us. The hoards of kobolds have been significantly culled and the few survivors should now be driven deep afraid to venture forth from there dank lairs.

On a personal note my burning desire that had been consuming me has been quenched with the love of my new huge sword. The raw sharp destructive simplicity of the blade and how easy it cuts through warm soft flesh is changing me…

    Default Chapter 3 – “Shan-To-Kor” once more

Over the past weeks I have been spending a lot of quality time with my blade and care for it lovingly. Asgorath made some snide remark about playing with my sword, but he can never understand our relationship I think he is jealous. With all the attention my blade has begun to talk to me and its message make sense; “The warm soft flesh desires to bleed it calls to be cut”.

Our travels took us out to the Cerliran hills and then on to Irestone Isle were we chopped our way to victory against hordes of goblins and orcs. It seems our group has learned much in a short time and as a unit when we work together we are an unstoppable engine of destruction.

After the journey outdoors we once again made our ways beneath the steam tunnels and into the ancient goblin halls of Shan-To-Kor. The only time we had problems were as a result of our own over confidence. It turns out that these new bodies are not indestructible and although we do not feel or react to heat the same as we did when we were vessel of flesh extremely hot fires will melt our parts and can disable us; lesson learned. Retrieving the seal wasn’t too bad the guardian loomed large, but the bigger they are the harder they fall…

Default Chapter 4 – A bad time to serve crime

The discussions with my blade continue and our bound grows stronger; it serves me I serve it. It is almost if we are becoming one and the blade has filled the spiritual hole left by the Undying Court and there vindictive ancestors of dust.

Dalog was in the shop seeing to some unfortunate malfunctions; hopefully he is good as new his trapping skills were “sorely” missed as was his humorous persona.

The last few days have been a fury of activity as we quashed the rising criminals of the Quickfoot gang in both of their hidden locations. Word around the market is now the Sharn Syndicate is looking to move in but if they value their lives they will stay clear, if not well we will send them off to their makers and maybe just maybe have a chance to right an old wrong and save the entire Binder family.

Lastly we made our way to the catacombs; the endless stairs wasn’t too bad in our new durable bodies. The archbishop just reeks of betrayal and wrong doing and it’s not just because we had been here before and know that he would betray us yet again. I think the Silver Flame could open their coffers and spruce his chambers up a bit and perhaps add a bit more of a positive ambiance. I can understand the duality and the shadow not wanting sunlight but there has to be something to make the archbishops chamber more appeasing, at very least to help fill the newly vacated archbishop position…

Default Chapter 5 - The shouts and cries of hobgoblins are still echoing

What happens when you throw a well oiled unit of warforged against a castle of goblins? Bloody grease and gore is what happens, we tore through the Splinter Skull castle and could not get enough slaughter so we kept going back and back for more and more. As we left the bloodied halls the few poor wretched survivors that where left where still crying.

After the Splinter Skull Massacre our brave group was feeling pretty good about ourselves and proceeded back to Stormreach where we easily removed the Sharn Syndicate crime family form its short lived position of power. In this version of reality we managed to fully save the Binder family too.

As the Festivault Season approached all was well in Stormreach for now…

Default Chapter 6 - Big Top Toppled

We waited for Dallog to finish his touch up in the Arti’s shop only to realize that Feyjhan would not be joining our adventures in House Phiarlan. I think she was afraid to face the high classed Phiarlan elves in her current form and feigned needing repairs to avoid the embarrassment of attending the Chapter House Ball in a metal skirt opposed to her magnificent royal evening gowns of her past life.

The five of us set off and first helped recruit the giant to perform in a production at the Phiarlan amphitheater. This was rough in spot and history repeated itself as I once again angered the water spirits by just trying to make a grab of some of their water. The rock spirits were hard and smashed metal pieces from our metal frames, the fire sprits melted and fused us but in the end we persevered, and managed to recruit and safely escort the giant.

The Phiarlan Chapterhouse gala and ball was a breeze and we had little trouble thwarting the attempt on the Viceroys life, we spent some time at the party an deduced all the threats so in the end all we had to do was simply point out the assassin, so much smoother this time around, just a shame we could not enjoy the beverages being served but then again maybe that was part of the problem the first time around.

Like bloodhounds on the trail of a strong scent we easily tracked down the Snitch Roderick Nettle but were once again seconds to late to deal with him ourselves before a Red Abishai demon once again took his life, the demon was much easier dealt with than the monstrous Rust monster was.

We finished up at the fairgrounds. Asgorath and Kylaeria got suckered into a few of the rigged big top striker games and ended up giving the devilish Carnies hell when they didn’t win any prizes. It did not take us long to track down the ringleader of the Maleficent Cabal and put an end to her evil plans once and for all. All I can say about the Succubus is she was more alluring and moved something inside me much more the last time around as a half-elf…

Default Chapter 7 - Crypts and Coves

A vampire was awakened in the Bloody Crypt, not really a surprise, and once again we first had had to defeat the four mummies from the tombs before we could confront the vampire. In my past life the my conviction to the Undying Court was stronger than my faith is now, before the undead were laid to rest with a simple prayer this time around they needed to be hacked to bits but the end result was the same as we quickly turned the mummies to piles of dust. The Abbots minions, the small army of wights, were easily dispatched in the bloody crypt. The vampire somehow was aware that we had been there in an alternate reality and he moved his heart but it still did not save him as we once again put an end to the nefarious bloodsucker.

We did not take any time to revile in our victory and immediately set off to Three Barrel cove where we hired our services out to the highest bidders to collect some pirate booty and add to our ever growing fame. Before we departed the cove we stopped and reflected on our successful adventures both this life and last and took little comfort in knowing that the most trying challenges were yet to come…

Default Chapter 8 No Tears Shed on Sorrowdusk

After last week’s success Dallog had provided me with the name of a good Artificer so I had some work done and he promised he could repair my sword. Our group was summoned to House Jorasco to deal with arising problems from the grave yard my companion remarked about the upgrades as I cursed that I was without my blade as it was being “fixed”.

We investigated the incidents at the Jorasco graveyard and easily dealt with the Ghost of Delera, the sleezy assassin Hargo and the vile necromancer that was behind the recent undead uprising.

Our fame is quickly spreading and no sooner had we left the graveyard we were commissioned for yet another task. We soon found ourselves on the water vessel, the Kol Koran headed out to Sorrowdusk Isles. The trolls and ogres were no match to our team we left the real threat the cult of the six alive for the time so they could hide and fear our inevitable return…
