Default Christmas Gifts for the DDO Addict

Sure, we'd all love a gift of Turbine points for the holidays. That's easy. But not very fun to wrap and put under the tree.

But if there were more merchandise available, I know I'd buy it.

Stuffed speaking kobold plushie for my kid? Done.
Smartaleck t-shirt about kicking some axe for my teenager? Done.
Miniature Horoth and Sully desk toys for the hubby? Done.

I'm ready to spend some money here, Turbine. Make my holiday shopping easier! Plenty of companies are just dying to manufacture your copyright-protected themed toys/apparel.

What DDO swag would you like to see?

Don't forget Malicia Outfit, Miniature Malicia, Talking Malicia Plushie - You get the gist.

Seriously though: Most Epic Christmas Present for DDO would be Cleric PrEs finished.

A device that monitors my screen and makes a buzzer go off when the game finishes loading.

I guess I could just buy a better computer, but where's the fun in that?

I found a company that prototypes stuffed animals, unfortunately it's not cheap. If it was, I'd be sellin em.

Hmmm I wonder if there's a company that prototypes replica weapons? Now I'll have to go search!

All this stuff being suggested is nice, but we're forgetting about the thing that's REALLY needed.

    Beholder plushies.

    Make it happen.

SUCCEED. My current ear buds are very quiet, and I would love getting some earslug eggs laid in my ears. Voice chat volume in particular is very quiet to me. Even when I put everything else between 1 and 10 percent.

I am necroing this thread. Because I'm serious.

Turbine, if you are going to cash in this holiday season, get to working on the merchandising now so that it can be ready to ship by October.

Yes, I want a mini bronze golem. Or a whole set, even. I know my RL minis won't be able to go all gorilla-angry, but that's ok. They need to be stuck to the top of my monitor.

Problem is less Turbine and more WotC.

I'm pretty certain Turbine just has the license for digital gaming, not product creation like what you/we want.

This. But I agree that gift items can easily be made profitable. Some people are hard to shop for; some people are anxious to spend $5-$200 despite their loved one not bothering to ask for anything. Enter limited edition statues/dolls, and you have something classy, uncommon, and related to the person's interests. It doesn't matter that, realistically, the item is worth a small fraction of its price tag; the point with this kind of gift is to say "I spent X amount of money thinking of you," not "I bought stuff that realistically ought to be worth X for you."

So who do we send the petition to at WoTC?

I'm pretty sure they like money over there... although you do wonder sometimes...

They'll make them, market them, and immediately replace them with new items, and not allow you to use the old ones anymore.
