Wow. Lighten up people. This thread and the screenshot thread were created to be light hearted and funny, and they were until people came in here bashing them. Chill out, lets get back to having fun now

Had a sorc join wizking in awe of the power of his class. I'm on my wizzy with 1 splash rogue but just jumping over everything and only killing where I have to or the DA goes yellow. I'm rezzing, buffing and tossing the occasional heal scroll (occasional 30% chance). He contributes nothing but entertainment even though we had to tell him how to get there. Meanwhile players from what I thought was a good guild pike at the door. Hmmmm. Sometimes I think people can trade on your good nature. That sorc however went away with a shopping list and an example of one way of doing that quest.
I have no problems with people booting people from quests who are have lied about their abilities. And as I am not the most confident player and I will make mistakes so I will send tells to people with the most strict sounding lfms (so Ransack won't take me on Toofs leveling group for example). That's ok. At the end of the day I think the problems happen for people with clashing expectations and goals and it's just best if people do things separately.
2x really obnoxious behavior (ex:vulgar aggressive complaints that a rogue didn't disable a trap, thus killing said player - who happened to be farting around/meandering about two rooms behind the rest of us).
1x highly inebriated constant talker who didn't understand the concept of pausing his dissertation when stuff got hairy in a boss fight.
I haven't needed to boot for stuff like BYOH etc... to me that's a known risk in a PUG... granted, I don't run many RAIDS where the investment is so high.
The one I always use is....
"Hey Proto, we need to break group and reform back in the Druid's Circle."
Neg Ten, ruining your enjoyment of the game one quest at a time.
i happened across this post and I haven't been playing very much lately. Not that Proto needs any defense, I honestly know where he is coming from. But for every "offensive" act Proto does, I know he does 10 benevolent things to counter.
Tough love n all.
P.S. And if any of you have been round long enough, then you would know at one point we were allowed to boot people while in the dungeon. I remeber booting my leaader because she was acting like a d-bag. She was offended but back then those were the ropes!

Stupid quetions when joining any my groups = auto boot
I dont have time for stupidity during my fun time
I leave that to real life where i deal with it daily to much already
PS send me SP pots
On occasion, I have been known to get on my leveling train and post lfm's that basically state: "X quest, BYOH, IP, Not for the Noob at heart." At which point there are a few things that will get you booted.
a) First thing you say is "Share please" or a misspelled variant thereon.
b) First thing you say is "What quest are we doing?" or some misspelled variant thereon.
c) You go through 2 quests without ever healing yourself. This is after I've told you in the first quest to go get healing pots after we're done and before the next run.
d) You die, repeatedly, in 2 quests for stupid reasons that are not attributable to regular bad luck that happens to all of us. At which point you get a tell that says "This is not the group you're looking for" and then a boot.
e) You ask so many questions about the quest that I'm spending half the quest time responding to you, rather than killing things. It's not fun for me. You didn't read the lfm. I'm happy to answer a question or two, but I'm not going to tell you the quest lore/history/objectives/map/everything else.
That having been said, I often level through pugging myself out to other's lfms, and often have a fun time in whatever group it is.
I just get on my leveling kick sometimes.
But to be on topic, my favorite line is:
"These are not the groups you're looking for" *ding*
..if my bumb itches does it mean I gotz worms?
***crabs across your carpet***

Part of having fun in the game for me is pushing the limits of my builds and my play ability. When you push your limits, sometimes you pull off amazing (for a game) accomplishments... other times, you get a spectacular failure. If you don't ever have the failures then you aren't pushing your limits. I'm a decent player, so spectacular failure isn't a routine event for me... but it does happen. When it does, I fully expect to be on the receiving end of some teasing from my team-mates/guild mates. Failure to tease means that they failed to appreciate the magnitude of difference between my intended/desired results, and the cold harsh reality of what was achieved.
With my group of friends, you are acknowldeged if you pull off something neat, and given a little bit of friendly grief when you manage to fail in a notable way. Its part of the fun, and quite frankly... I'll remember a funny fail (and associated grief) far longer than a routine success, and when I remember it... I remember it with a smile.
