Actually, what I said was completely correct. DDO is based on 3.5 that is a fact, not an opinion. It may have adopted elements that you deem similar to other version of D&D, but it is in fact based on 3.5. I said earlier that it left those roots due to incorporating MMO-type ideologies, and has done so repeatedly since, that does not change the fact that it is indeed based on 3.5 Gee, I said that a lot in that one paragraph.

As for a curent example we have an Iconic class Where an ELF is an Iconic cleric of amauntor a god primarily worshipped by humans, aasimar and halflings.
I can say incorrect here. See how that feels? Regardless, fact of the matter is half-elves don't follow the exact layout of what half-elves get in 3.5 that doesn't mean they aren't based on 3.5. We also have bladeforge...where are they? What about, well, just about anything really. I didn't say they follow 3.5 to a T, I said it was based on it, I also didn't say how loosley-based on 3.5 it was. See what I mean?

Well at least we can agree on that.

Would it be wrong to assume "Its time to bring out the negative energy absorption items"
    or would this not help?

Worse, of the affected classes, only Paladins and Rangers are even proficient with it... and if rangers use it, it precludes the use of BOTH their class styles (cant use twf or archery with a 2hd). At least before, clerics might be lord of blades ones, or at worst just had to suffer through non-proficiency, but now everyone does. And druids in animal form? Sigh.

And worse yet, are the racial abilities being added. SLAs arent subject to Intercession in PnP. And its a TERRIBLE precedent to start with in DDO now. Whats next... "arcane" SLAs checking for ASF? Or Dragonmarks suddenly only using arcane caster levels?

Look, two things. If youre going to lay this pile on us, and it IS a pile, you need to give the Intercession ability a save. Not a behind-the-scenes level check (as the pnp mechanic) because the mob CR is so inflated it auto-wins. But a regular old save, that we can actually make. And two, you need to add an item that ISNT a total screw to equip for 9 of the 10 targets affected. Yes, I know about the new item at 27... I mean one to use for the other 99% of the game. A heroic one. That isnt a greatsword. That doesnt take 4000 years to farm.

Before it was kind of a niche problem that might hurt a cleric 1-2 times a life, and one you could just suffer through. Now its going to hit a whole lot more people a whole lot more often. If youre going to throw this garbage in our faces, you need to adjust it so its not an autowin for the mobs, and something we can work to defend against. And "just group with an arcane every run" isnt a valid answer... no other class in the game faces an ability which just turns your character off with no save for that length of time. Yes beholders... but you can move out of the cone and be back and running in seconds. Intercession lasts quite awhile, with no defense, and no maneuvering to combat it.

If youre going to give us a problem, give us tools to build a solution. Just shafting everyone and telling them to go hold a greatsword until 27 is terribly bad design. What the heck devs.

I'm wondering about Rescuing http://ddowiki.com/page/Radhnik_Odeen once this change goes through?

Unless the Devs triple {at a minimum} his HP or allow us to buff him PRIOR to speaking with him this rare is going to be nigh on impossible to complete!

I don't think it qualifies as a negative energy attack, so it would be useless.
I think standard spell absorption should work.

Anyone know if SR works against it?

My bad, I was also thinking outside the square aswell with respect to negative level drain, as I believe the castors in the new update also debuff you as well as neg lvl you.

    Default OP bardage

Looking from last update where they added a new prestige class for bard, and did a good job of it based on the number of bards I see online atm. This seems to be another push for bard. Who will we turn to if our divines don't farm the new or old items to protect from quelling? Healing bards.

Right now, FvS are immune to being Quelled. Seems to me that this is a bug.

Please make FvS subject to Quell the same as all other divines.
My main character is a FVS and I dont have a problem with that change. Otherwise the FVS is of average power compared to the other classes. The Paladin and The Ranger arcane archer subclass are by far the most powerful characters in the game including hybrids of those classes-- ie the monkcher. If making the fvs not immune to being quelled is what u mean by nerf the FVS than I'm good with that anything else or any insinuation that the FVS is too powerful is incorrect. The Paladin is by far the most powerful class. I made one and tested my assertion and can solo any quest without difficulty on EE with no named items. Nerf the Pally nerf the Monk Nerf the AA.
