    DPS: Epic Antique Greataxe
    Tank: Epic Chimera's Fang(good dr slotted)/Levicks Defender/Light and Darkness

I am not sure what gear the other character had when he stole the aggro, but with a successful intim and all the incite/hate I generate, the only way I should have lost aggro is to a caster scoring awesome DoTs.

I was to understand that I would get the +45 from GS as well as +45 from having all three dragonmarks and an extra +20 from Energy of Chimera III for a total of +110hp. I am only getting +65... is this correct or just a bug that needs to be worked on?

Also... I am not sure the incite on the epic Chimera's Fang is working correctly. Even after a successful Intimidate, while Paladin Divine Righteousness is active, melee steals aggro from me while tanking.

Any education you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The crown only gives +20 (stacking) hps for 3 dragonmarks. That's it. That's all it gives.

+45 hps for GS = 65 with both... Working as Intended.

Ok, I understand that but my confusion on the matter is that there are two separate lines on the item. One mentions the Energy of the Chimera III (+20 stacking hp) and the other mentions the Chimera's Vitality where it itemizes +10, +15, and +20 for the dragonmarks.

So that tells me that when I am not wearing my GS HP item, I should get +65hp from the crown by itself, this is not the case... I am only gaining +20. I do not have a problem with GS not stacking with the Vitality, I feel the item is bugged as I only receive the +20 by itself.

It does sound strange. A successful intim puts you at the top of the hate chart with a buffer and for someone to steal aggro they would have to eat that buffer and any additional threat that you generate in that time.

On a strength based DoS paladin with all incite sources going I don't see hat this would be possible unless someone was intentionally trying to steal aggro or being just plain stupid. Some DoS/SD characters stay in stance for DPS and might have other sources of incite like epic claw set which in combination could easily cause the situation that you describe.

You know that is an eggs-cellent point, I didn't even think to factor in the possibility of idiots/uninformed players. When it comes to heavy raids with specific instructions, I assume everyone knows and understands, mybad lol

I am thankful for all the help and "incite" into this xD

Hopefully someone can explain the HP thing though. That to me is a bigger issue to me than aggro, I have had many successful attempts, it was just this recent one that made me question. I brought it to my guild's attention and they were as clueless as I.

Ok, here's the thing: Chimera Vitality gives you Energy of the Chimera. Energy of the Chimera is a special hp bonus that stacks with all other hp bonuses, including other Energy of the Chimera's, as long as they have different numerical values. Depending on how many dragonmarks you have, Chimera Vitality either gives you Energy of the Chimera I, II, or III, for 10, 15, or 20 hp, respectively. But it's NOT cumulative. Meaning if you get Energy of the Chimera II from your Chimera Vitality because you have 2 dragonmarks, you just get the 15 hp, not the 10 and 15 hp. If you have 3 marks, you get Energy of the Chimera III from Chimera Vitality, giving you 20 hp, but you do not get the 10 or 15 hp from Energy of the Chimera I and II.

It's a little confusing how the helm has abilities giving other abilities, but if I remember right, having an item check feats like this was new tech for the time, and it's implementation was a bit more...wrinkled.

In short, Chimera's Crown gives you bonus hp depending on how many marks you have. 1 mark gets you +10 stacking hp, total. 2 marks gets you +15 stacking hp, total. 3 marks gets you +20 stacking hp, total. Each of these values has a name (Energy of the Chimera I, II, or III), and you get an Energy of the Chimera from Chimera Vitality (which, itself, does not grant any hp--it just grants one Energy of the Chimera variant, determined by the number of dragonmark feats you have).

Apparently I'm way late to this party.. I was under the impression you get the 20 no matter who you are PLUS your dragonmark bonus if that applies.

So I have three marks, I should get 40 HPs.. ATM, I get 20.

I guess it's ok.. But I was really excited about this as I had been farming it. Now I'm sad. I broke a PDK set for thiS?? Yucky.

Wow- a necro to complain in a thread where a dev very thoughtfully and thoroughly explained the mechanism and even made an adjustment based on feedback.

It's true- DDO players cannot ever be satisfied.

It's not clear, because earlier in the description it uses the phrase "Energy of the Chimera" when referring to 20 stacking HPs.

Only later does it break it down by Dragonmark and then it uses the phrase "Chimera's Vitality."

So this is what it sounds like to me:

-Anyone who wears this gets 20 HPs (energy of the Chimera)
-IF you have marks, you also get the appropriate level of Chimera's Vitality.

So I expected to get 40 HPS with three marks. I was disappointed with 20. Call me crazy.

Firstly, Energy of the Chimera III only shows up when equipped by a toon with three dragon marks, so if you had some expectations prior to equipping it, you either saw it on the wiki or someone with dragon marks linked it to you. Either way, you did some research, but only partially, which is what set up your incorrect expectation. Had you never seen the item before having crafted it and equipping it, you would not have seen the energy III and not been disappointed.

Second, I don't see you complaining about not having 60 sr (30 sr from the item description + 30 from having the dragon marks) so at least at some level you understood that it didn't work out that way.

The SR is listed one time in the description in only one way. The hitpoints are listed multiple times with differing language. I'm not saying I wasn't part of setting myself up for disappointment. I was just expressing this disappointed.

I still think the description is confusing.

Your "____ show up until you equip it with marks" only supports what I thought. Namely: With no marks you get a bonus, with marks you get a larger bonus.

In any case, it's crafted, there are no tears. I just don't know if I'll even use it now. Kinda lackluster.

I am unhappy that the 1 extra greater dragonmark use does not stack with the 2 extra dragonmarks from the ToD Dragonmarked set bonus. If they aren't going to stack it would make more sense to me if the Epic Crown granted 2 additional uses and the set bonus only one extra use.
