Default Best use of Icy Kit for Twink (lowbie gear)

I am trying to figure out the best use for this last kit of mine. I would like to apply the kit to a low ml weapon that would be useful for most if not all classes. That got me thinking of a two hander.

In your opinion, which weapon would benefit more from an Icy Kit, Keen of pure good ml 4 or a burst pure good ml 6?

Or is there some other combination out there that I am overlooking? What twink gear are you guys making?

    you advice is greatly appreciated.

I use master's touch on my casters (wiz/sorc/bard) for low levels, so I put it on a ML2 keen falchion. Pure Good doesn't work since at least my wiz/sorc builds are always true neutral.

I would actually go Keen falchion of righteousness. That way you neutrals can use it.

Yes 2 hander is the best option IMO.

I put it on a +1 Acid Greatsword of Pure Good last year.

I threw one on a +1 Holy Q-staff I was using on beginner alts. It works beautifully...

Generally speaking, straight damage adds more DPS than keen at lower levels, especially for classes that don't have crit-improving abilities. (Like divine sacrifice for paladins.)

With that in mind, I've created two sets of twink festival gear:

+1 Flaming Greatsword (ML2) with Festival Frost
+2 Keen Falchion of Maiming (ML6) with Festival Icy Burst

    2 +3 Khopeshes (ML4) with Festival Frost
2 +5 Khopeshes (ML8) with Festival Icy Burst

The greatsword is a rock-solid ML2 DPS weapon. For the lowest levels, greatsword is the best dps weapon in the game since the weapons with better crit profiles don't have enough damage bonus for the crit multiplier to overtake the greatsword's better base damage. For the falchion, I spent a week looking specifically for an ML6 keen falchion because my paladin builds get divine sacrifice at level 6. (After splashing rogue or fighter on level 1.)

For the khopeshes, low-level TWF has some to-hit issues, so the idea is to use the highest-enhancement bonuses possible and just tack on some festival DPS. I usually don't start dual-wielding khopeshes until level 4, so it's only natural I started with ML4 +3s. The +5 level 8 ones are particularly nice because with Improved Critical: Slashing at level 9 they should carry from level 8 to GS quite nicely.

The only reason I didn't put Icy Burst on the low-level versions is to save money, having to buy the 5/20 recipes for 40k a pop. Without an improved crit range, I don't think the burst would add all that much anyway. Maybe the khopeshes would benefit enough to be worth it, but not the greatsword.

EDIT: Looking at it all written out, I think I'm going to go hunt down an ML4 greatsword and ML8 falchion to festival up before Sunday.

One that I applied the icy burst to is a ML6 +1 Holy Greataxe of Pure Good.

After years of disappointment , I have a hard time believing.

I guess I'll be a sucker again and frost another pair of shock or acid of bleed or pure goods again.

keen falchion of righteousness is the best option (to hit matters a lot at low lvls).
Another very good choice is a bodyfeeder falchion (of righteousness).

    Default This is some greatsword

    I just bought a Greatsword +1 Keen of PG ML2 RR:WF

I know that having PG it's not the greatest idea*, but it's a really incredible weapon for ML2 when icy bursted.

I will also recomend to look for a keen weapon for all your low levels twinkage needs.

*: Lately I tho about creating/TRing avery toon with good aligment, and changing it later (around 12 level) to TN. This seems to me as the easiest way to level up, with the only con of 500 TP per toon.

Do you have a BTA Greatsword/Falchon?

Perhaps running Splinterskull a few times to get one would prove worthwhile

Festival upgrades leave unbound weapons unbound.
