Bottom line - unbound will still produce xp.
There are 37 shards that can be crafted for leveling in the elemental school between level 80 and 100 on the bound shard device. Only 8 of those shards DO NOT require Purified Ebb Shards. So it is a good thing that unbound is still giving xp. Leveling up via unbound might actually be mathematically impossible with the way shard xp diminishes down to zero after x number of creations.

I hope I'm not the only one that sees the problem here. Even with the unbound options available now, those same high level shards on unbound are going to be the only way to level up high enough to craft unbound equivalents of the more desirable shards. It will be so insanely cost intensive that nobody will be able to do it. I doubt even the most hardcore of gamers is running around with 100+ tomes/epic tokens/etc that they are looking to just melt down into purified ebb shards.
Maybe I'm missing something and this isn't as problematic as I'm seeing it.
(Currently reading Lamannia notes - so if these drop rates are indeed increased significantly - maybe not as much of a concern. Still a smidge skeptical though)
...I still think Purified Ebb Shards should be required in a second action that would make those shards slotable.
Craft said shard (free of purified essence requirement) and gain some xp - put "dud" shard into a device with the appropriate number of purified essences - shard becomes useable/activated where previously it was just a dud.
I just don't care for the way high level crafting is being inundated with purifieds.

Getting disappointed by some of these changes. It seems like a great number of them are to take the biggest grind this game has ever had and make it more grindy.
Pick one, rare ingredients that you are grinding for OR grinding crafting xp for weeks. Both just makes this system ridiculous.

Ok so i started this game about 3 weeks ago or so... i got to level 4 then started crafting... they took crafting away... i got the shakes... crafting will be back i cant wait, i dont even care if its been borked up!
Although i must say that a way to increase the +X enhancement modifier would be nice even if we cant overwright prefix or suffix al least make it so that say +1 acid touch Falchion of bleeding can take another +1 enhancement shard and become +2 acid touch Falchion of bleeding... or make a new shard that costs an extra greater essence and call it +X Enhancement Modifier. it would be verry shard intence to make a new weapon every time my character gains a couple lvls
Also it would be nice if either you made less shards take extremely rare mats or took off the deterioration of xp for making shards.
