Pretty please? Just throwin' it out there.
Pretty please? Just throwin' it out there.
we all want it.
Homer: "Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen."
I want this so badly.
Turbine is missing the sales of kobold race, but also on kobold plushies.
Deekin remembers Waterworks
You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
the probable reason we have not seen/will never see a Kobold Plushie is that, while Warner Bros. owns the rights to DDO, the Dungeons and Dragons franchise itself still remains the property of Wizards of the Coast.
so while WB and Turbine are probably aware of the incredible earning potential of Kobold Phushies, they probably never will release one due to legal issues
The Funniest Thing I've Ever Read
Toons: Twengor (pal), Margween (Bard/FTR/Rogue), Nestrana (wiz), Ammerlyn (Arti), Ostarin (Monk) on Cannith
Yeah, it's beed discussed many times. A lot of us really want it. Especially if they're anything like the Dragonwrought Kobolds from 3.5 Edition.
Ok, so the stats are sucky(-4 Str, +2 Dex, -2 Con), but they're just awesome. I'm totally for the Playable Kobold Race.
Let the wave of Gimpy Kobold Awesomeness Reign Over Stormreach!
It's a p2p/store feature for pvp (ie: DDO's own version of LotRO PvM). In which case I also strongly want Beholders.
That is all.
It doesn't matter if the Kobold is -10 in every stat, people would still buy and play them just for the sheer fun of it, especially with abilities like...
Annoying Hard to Reach
- A Kobold has the uncanny ability to jump to ledges that seem not even to exist, making them nearly impossible to hit by melee weapons. This ability has a 10 second cool down.
Ring the Gong
- A Kobolt has friends hiding everywhere. Using this ability will summon 10 Kobolds seemingly out of thin air to come and fight with you. This ability can be used once per dungeon.
As a somewhat serious DDO reinterpretation of the race...somewhat serious...

For DDO purposes ...
Kobolds are a common reptilian race in Eberron claiming draconic descent. While less strong and hardy than other races, kobolds are very dexterous and have a charisma based less in charm than in raw (often misplaced) self-confidence.
Kobolds are treated as small creatures, and as such gain +2 to hide and move silently checks, and a natural +1 to armor class and attack bonus. However, they have only 3/4 the carrying capacity of a standard creature of comparable strength.
Kobold Scales: A kobold's skin affords it some minor protection in the form of DR 1/piercing.
Kobold Claws: All unarmed melee attacks by a kobold are considered to be slashing-type damage rather than bludgeon, dealing 1d4 base damage with a 19-20x2 critical range and multiplier. A kobold monk retains the slashing damage and critical profile while scaling the damage dice.
Kobold Agility: Kobolds gain an inherent +4 bonus to jump and tumble.
Kobold Hatred: Kobold always hate you. Consequently, most other living, intelligent creatures hate kobolds. All kobold attacks generate 10% more hate. This is applied before any hate-reducing enhancements.
Kobold Confidence: Through raw self-assurance, kobolds gain an inherent +2 to UMD checks. Kobold will make the shiny work.
Kobold Memory: Kobold never forgets, and a magic using kobold with this feat gains an additional spell slot per spell level due to the phenomenal kobold memory.
Kobold Wings (requires Kobold level 17): A kobold channels its draconic heritage to fly for short periods. Mimics the effects of the monk's Abundant Step.
Kobold Color Dragon Lineage I (AP Cost: 2, AP Progression: 8AP spent): You gain a stacking 5-point resistance to appropriate element damage. Lineage II would cost 4AP at 32AP spent for a stacking 10-point resistance to an elemental damage type. Repeat for each dragon color.
Kobold Color Dragon Breath (AP Cost: 4, AP Progression: 42 AP spent, requires Kobold Color Dragon Lineage II): You may create a small AOE damage effect dealing 1d2+2 per character level of appropriate element damage. This ability has a 240s cooldown, and is treated as a level 4 spell for enhancement purposes.

...so, yeah, they'd make total glass cannons as FvS or Sorcerers, interesting monks, and someone would probably come up with a crazy kobold flying bard. A Kobold FvS or Savant could have huge elemental resistances (base 20-resist fire + firebreath buffed by AoV? Base 25 electric resist + electrical breath with Savant enhancements?). But, no matter what, the Kobold is drawing more aggro. More aggro, less con and melee power...high comedy.
voice commands would be a bit funny too :3
high pitched voices... spamming will be annoying tho.
Kobolds would be awesome. I would gladly make all my next lives more gimped and play kobold instead of WF
Distributed - Currently on life 80.
Oh, and as an Easter Egg for my Kobold plans...
A Kobold Pale Master with any dragon breath enhancement, in Lich form, would do an AOE breath attack dealing 1d4 negative levels on a failed fortitude save...MINIDRACOLICH!
