My computer goes really, really slow when I switch windows between the game and the solver, so I made a cheat sheet for myself.
The first 3 images are explanations of how to solve down and use the cheat sheet.
The first image shows the lights out puzzle solver.

I played around a lot on the solver before I made the cheat sheet.
I really like doing puzzles, but hate being under time constraints and pressure while doing them.
Here's the 5x5 "cheat sheet." Feel to print it out.
The cheat sheet is made so that view is adjusted to match your character's view after you've done the solve-down set-up, then run around to the "top" of the puzzle.
Here's the 3x3 cheat sheet.
To use it, solve down as with the 5x5.
I don't have a cheat sheet for 4x4 puzzles, because if solve them down they're done.
