    Cool Where are the scrolls?

So I run epics just about everyday and since the ever intelligent devs implemented the new scroll rules I have noticed a significant decline in scroll drops. Is it just me or have others noticed this as well?

Dude, you obviously have not heard. Scrolls are the new fruitcake. A very limited number were made, and now that static number that remain are being bartered around.

Silly people think there are new fruitcakes, but there are none.

When someone uses an epic scroll, a new one drops. Of course, not necessarily the same scroll.

This is why we have 30 scrolls of the docent of grace on the AH and none of anything from Chronoscope..

Default Wiz king 4 hour scroll farming session:

I pulled 2 scrolls in the wiz king. they were both suck. Definetly no raid scrolls at all. I would agree with 1/30 actual raid scroll but I havn't seen one in over 50 scrolls

Considering the new system actually lowers your chance to get scrolls by adding to the number of rollers I'm surprised they didnt buff the drop rate a touch. Seems very logical and obvious even before hindsight. One positive thing to come out of the scroll changes is that there are much more in the auction house now and the prices of scrolls (on sarlona) have dropped quite a bit due to more people having scrolls they don't want. Capitalism makes a comeback!

It only lowered the droprate for you if you were a ninja scroll looter who didn't put scrolls up for roll at the end.

I do not think this is accurate. I run a LOT of epics, at least when I can play. Before the change I saw a decent amount of scrolls dropping. I may not have rolled on many of them, and I lost more rolls than I won (a little shameless complaining there) but I at least saw a fair number of scrolls. Since the change I see far less of them. Now, I am fully aware that this might simply be bad luck for me. But I also hear a lot of other people saying the same things. So I wonder if the drop rate has, in fact, been changed. Whether on purpose or accidentaly, the drop rate really does seem to be lower.

And if people were ninja'ing the scrolls before the change (while it might have happend in a couple of groups, I do not think it happened often because I mainly run with people I know) then drop rate would be even lower now, because even counting the possible ninja scrolls that I would never have seen anyway, I am still seeing a lot less now.

The scroll drops did seem slightly higher in the ninja looting days. I remember von 1 runs with 2-3 scroll drops. Now days, you are lucky if 1 drops every other run. I ran 3 fens quests yesterday (Claw, Stand, and In the Deep) and the group saw zero drops. And there is a decent number of mobs in each of those quests.

Further, the auto roll gives everyone a chance. In the ninja days, if you already had the scroll or if someone else only needed the scroll to craft or the scroll was clearly not for an item of your class people were abstaining from rolling. Even if they might be able to use it on an alt. Or just sell it on the AH.

Now, if it drops for them, most people are just keeping it. No putting things up for roll. I've given away a Shatterbow and an Antique Great Axe scroll because I didn't have any use for them, but I've seen very little need before greed type of logic in PuG's. Guild runs, of course, are a different story.

But, since the scrolls are freely tradable (and thus sellable) it seems the charitable nature of many players has dried up. Thus, your scroll chances do seem diminished in the new system.

Before the change - most <40 kill epic completions had no scrolls (some rare runs did have one), quite a number of 50-150 kill completions had exactly one scroll (sometimes none, sometimes more), and many 151+ kill completions had 2+ scrolls.

Now - most <40 kill epic completions had no scrolls (some rare runs did have one), quite a number of 50-150 kill completions had exactly one scroll (sometimes none, sometimes more), and many 151+ kill completions had 2+ scrolls.

I've personally seen both Claw pieces drop lately, as well as a bunch of others. Some guildies were 3-4 manning the entrance room in Chrono, most runs they got nothing but on one run they got two.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

i'm not exactly sure how you are getting that most <40 kill epics don't drop scrolls. it was 1 in 3 runs for a scroll to drop in partycrashers for 32 kills (ie roughly a 1% chance per kill). note: i was bored and it takes 2 minutes to get that many kills in partycrashers so its a perfect source for scroll drop data (assuming its constant across all epics).

fragment drops were roughly 1.5 to 1 for the same runs so roughly 5%.

The scroll droprate is rediculously low, especially when you need 4 random low rate loot drops to make you epic item. the item, the scroll, the seal, and the shard. That kind of requirement makes obtaining any epic item require an insane amount of grinding.
We've heard some peeps from the devs about an epic rethink, I fear that the "rethink" is going to focus on how to get more sales rather than address the underlying grind issues and flat gameplay that have been the primary complaints voiced by almost all of the participating players... T

Either you're assuming that not everyone would roll on a scroll put up for roll or you're counting on ninja scroll loots. The chance to get scrolls hasn't changed a single bit because of it dropping randomly into someone's inventory. And on the first assumption if that person wasn't going to roll on the scroll, he might as well put up the new scroll for roll in case it drops into his inventory.

honestly, this isn't really the problem. making an epic item isn't that hard. making a SPECIFIC epic item is where the numbers become insane.

Last run of eBoB 2 scrolls drooped (one for me -> one that I wanted to try for my fighter), both droped before shrine. I think drooprate is around 1 per 100 (still when run eDQ2 i haven't seen yet one to droop (on the other hand for more than 7 runs I didn't got any shards there)).

I found myself I would rather keep scroll for myself for future trade than put it again for roll for people who accualy need it. Why? Because I am rather sure that scrolls that I need people would rather keep and trade than give them up for roll (it is capitalism).
Chrono is new raid and there is still low number of scrolls I think. Also eChrono completion runs don't offer much killing on the way (?50-70? -> less than eBoB usually).
