    Default PVP pecking order, yes or no?

    This is my ordered list of the top pvp classes and variants for "anything goes" fighting (stuns, dances, dispels, songs, slayer arrows...etc).

    Basically a list (based on my observations) of who is going to win more often against the general population. It assumes access to useful pvp gear of course.

    No direspect to anyone's classes, this is just what I've noticed from extensive observation from the platform while I'm a ghost

    1) Shintao Monk - able to stun anybody instantly with high DC Kukan Do or Tomb of Jade, closes quickly and kills.

    2) WF Pale Master with Wizard Past Life - Immune to bard songs for the most part, has the quickest and most reliable means of discharging an ioun stone. Can do high damage which can't be blocked, then pws to win. Can still do damage while blocking with a tower shield.

    3) Virtuoso Bard - Can dance most people instantly with Song of Capering (highest DC CC effect in the game?). With higher risk, may sometimes get close enough to a pale master and use Music of the Dead to stun it, then kill (difficult if it has an ioun stone). A bard with ranger splash and manyshot may be useful with str/con sapping bows.

    4) WF Wizard or Sorcerer with Wizard Past Life - Past Life missiles, and able to clear ioun stones quickly. Not immune to Bard songs. Can beat AA's with tactics and an easily accessible block button (as long as the AA is not already in the arena waiting).

    5) Arcane Archer - Able to apply a lot of pressure and can one shot a lot of other classes if they are not blocking. Beaten easily by the Monk and Bard above, can be beaten easily by Arcanes with Wiz Past Life who use the right tactics and have good timing.

    6) WF Wizard - Can swap pvp spells in and out at will, usually has all metamagic feats. Better with a splash for evasion. Can increase reflex saves significantly with a feat.

    7) WF Sorcerer - Fast casting speeds and abilitiy to spam spells to apply pressure. Lower DC's than the Wizard.

    8) Cleric/FvS - Cometfall, healing, and various other damage spells, has a very hard time against people with Ioun Stones. Better with a splash for evasion.

    9) Other Bards, Non WF Arcanes and Ranged Builds

    10) Melee Builds (Paladins, Fighters, Barbs, non-Shintao Monks, Rogues)

    Sounds about right, though player twitch skill often factors greater than the class played at the time.

    True, tactics, movement and knowledge of other class abilities factor a LOT.

    You need remember that some of those can be combined.

    For instance:

    Elven Bard Virtuoso Arcane Archer.

    You'd think it would be at the bottom if you read his posts.

    I'd say you have it right. Kukan-Do scares the hell out of me as a Dark Monk When I screw around in PvP. Besides, even with my craptastic DC when I GR'd My light monk on Lamm. I still stunned everything in Amrath.

    Must have good clerics who can predict where to put comet fall or maybe bad ioun stone wearing arcanes. With both wearing stones, an arcane should be able to take a free comet fall hit and still clear the cleric's stone faster and do enough damage (dispel + force missiles or just meteors) to get him under 450 for the stun.

    Cleric takes ?9ish? spells to clear a stone, arcanes can do it in 2 to 4.

    Depends on who your facing, most meeles my Dark monk can easily take care of, inculding AA*i use a ShurikenXD*
    *mainly Light monks kill me tho.*

    And Anything goes is just a dishonorable way to do it. i perfer no guards, no stuns, no trip, no ToD. *meele vs meele*

    and for Arcane vs meele, they start on other side of map, and you need to get to them before they kill you. Everything the same above, added no CC, and no running around like a chicken with your head cut off...

    But finding a honorable fight is hard anymore, Pvp is ruled by people who stand there and block while their guards kill you. are have to dance you with their bards and run over to their wizard char to win

    Favored Soul:
    -Immune To PWS (mostly of them or simple use the Battered Shield);
    -Pretty Immune to Dance (so hard to casters come closer to a flying angel);
    -On Stash they have Blade Barrier (that rule);
    -With Bramble-Casters pretty good vs AA (Bards are better because of the stun);
    -Heal themselves.
    -Don't have Prestiges, and still are better to who have.

    I have already won fights...
    (5 vs 1 , 1 Sorcerer) vs me, three Lvl 20, and two Lvl 15.

    4 vs 1 (1 Ranger, 1 Fighter, 1 Favored Soul, 1 Barbarian) vs me, all 20, Ranger with Slaying.

    and so..
    Bards today! Bards tomorrow! Bards forever!

    Pretty much, although I have to point out three things, which may or may not be a result of the different servers’ idiosyncrasies:

    First, I rarely, if ever, see a virtuoso clean out the pit, even a virtuoso arcane archer.

    Second, monks are terrifying, yes, but IMHO a properly displaced and kinda lucky wizard or sorcerer, especially a WF/pale master with fearsome armor, can survive the attack until Kukan-Do wears off. Then it’s time to start the incredibly long process of figuring out how to kill a light monk.

    And third: don’t underestimate the archer. They may only be truly awesome for thirty seconds every two minutes, but they can empty out the pit like nobody’s business.

    Gotta say, as a non-ioun-stone-wearing pale master who gets his giggles bashing warforged and human arcanes, one of the most terrifying opponents for me is an epic-level favored soul. Unmatched maneuverability and incredibly painful undead-smashers.

    And finally: Yay! A thread about PvP that doesn’t include bashing it.

    Also; if you're looking for honorable PvP...erm...don't come to Khyber. There's no one but me here with that mindset.

    There is a certain Clonk in there who seems to know how to get rid of Ioun Stones pretty quick.... Even "The Best" can't stand up to him under the right circumstances... >.>

    Huh??? That actually goes off against non pale masters in the pit? I mean given what Jade is supposed to do... aberation, undead, outsider. All of which, we PCs are not save for a wizard pale master and that is only when they are in one of their "forms".

    I would disagree strongly with shintao being first. I would put them after virtuoso as Song of Capering and Kukan Do are at best equal in terms of getting off before the other. Neither work against Pale Masters, and the touch attack is just that, touch, so all things being equal, getting off a Tomb of Jade before being pws is slim.
