How am I supposed to set the tent in the cook's room on fire?

There is nothing to click on and I've tried attacking with flaming weapons. Nothing.

The first three tents were set on fire while I was fighting the first medusa. No clue what specific actions ignited them and I've tried everything I can think of to destroy the last one.

This is really frustrating me as I've already cleared everything up to the hag's room.

Kill a kobold next to the tent.

If that is the only way to set the tent on fire, this quest is full of fail. I'm standing in an empty dungeon with plenty of ways to make fire and you telling me I can't ignite the tent without a kobold?

    Fireball spells work too.

Hehe, are you typing in this in real time? lol
Some Fireballs or Monk's triple flame finishing moves can set them on fire.

If you have no divine or arcane, you'll have to have a mob cast a spell toward the tent, or kill an explosive Kobold.

If you do have a divine (Flame Strike/Fire Storm) or arcane (any fire spell except for some reason Wall of Fire), turn off soft targeting, and aim with mouselook at it and let the fireball fly. If you can use UMD, wands with fire spells work perfectly fine too.

    Thank you.

A fireball worked for me, thankfully I have UMD.

If you’re a monk you could use the fire/fire/fire finisher.
Things that if Turbine went all EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on, would actually make the game fun again.:
    • Giving us the racial PrE’s we were promised, before rolling out DDOStore™ Enhancement Trees.
    • Fixing physical defense for Rangers and Rogues. It’s ridiculous that you’re better off wearing Heavy Armor and ignoring your innate feats on these classes.
    • Cannith Crafting.
    • Update the named loot to put them on the same system.
    • Fixing the Cannith Challenges so that they can be 6 starred without incredible luck or store bought items.
    • Fixing all challenges to give us decent XP and ingredient returns for the unreasonable time we have to spend in most of them.

Do Sun Flasks work on this as well? I have a pile in the bank...so I may try it this evening.

It is also an optional. Plenty of quests have optionals that not every group can complete (example: the Ancient Arachnid Queen in Trial By Fire is impossible if you do not have someone with the capacity to unlock a DC 43 or so locked door - i.e. any rogue or a very, very geared caster).

Chiming in here on a sorc life.

Spells that do NOT work: Burning Hands, Scorching Ray, Firewall.

Come ON turbine. This is just silly. How about instead of listing the optional as setting the tent on fire, you just come clean and say 'BLOW TEND UP WITH A NUKE'.

    It would be more accurate.

Since the Monk finisher "Breath of the Fire Dragon" mimics Burning Hands, it does not work on the tents as well. I've confirmed this on all too many runs in this quest (although I recall it working shortly after the series was introduced). Nor do the Henshin Mystic attacks work against the tents.
