Forms moved down the tower, humanoid shaped yet scrambling head-first like some beast or great spider.
The first two that neared the ground swung-off the tower using branches and vines to aid them in their descent as the landed upon ther great feet.
The two landed with grunts that were not unlike that of some oversized swine. Slouching forward, hunched over like a species of great apes, two figures emerged into the beams of a gazing moon.
At first a human like countenace could be detected, but it would not take one long to see that the grey hue that covered them was not from the bright sable night, but rather was the pigment of their very skin.
Course black hair too covered their bodies.
Closer inspection revealed these beings were more beast-like with their upturned flat ape-like noses, tusks of a boar, and the eyes of murderous men.
The creature that landed first, closed his narrow eye-lids maksing the unnatural green orbs that were housed below a massive thick brow.
Throwing back his massive skull the first turned his wide animal-like nostrils up to the sky and breathed in the night air in several, dramatic gulps, snorting as he did so.
Leaning down, his knuckles of one great limb pressing into the soft earth, and the other raised motionless in the air, the lead creature remakably despite his bestial looks, began to give orders.
His simian-like, gnarled hand seemed to form hand-signals which were accompanied by an audible command.
The hand pointed towards the northern mountain and the man-beast's mouth formed and delivered a command that sounded something like "orc" ...with that the creature to his left shot forward at great speed running on all four of his muscled arms and legs.
The gnarled hand pointed forward, and again, what sounded like "orc" escaped the leads mouth...and another being shot forward vaulting over a pile of stones in one quick move.
To the southern shores the hand, forming a new signal, struck out, and with an "orc-orc"...two more of the beings galloped towards shore.
As the moon-light strayed across the two bounding creatures a witness may have seen an expression and glint in the two beings eyes that seemed to switch from hate to joy to hate again, as though one emotion birthed the other, or they would have seen frothing jowels and lapping tongues as though they were planning on eating some great feast.
This monsterous, peverse frenzy would have been terrifying to behold, yet only the moon and the sea would bare witness.
One great creature stayed behind, sitting upon the ground as though it was contemplating some long forgotten answer to some great riddle.
With a sudden snap of motion the creature summer-saulted backwards and landed upon his great bare feet.
Then with an enormous bellow and a pounding of his chest he let out one sound that shook the forrest...
" O - R - C ! "
