I'm sure there will be some balancing of what you get and when after release. Should play pretty close to my 12R/7W/1F that I wish was a 13/6/1 . Should be pretty fun to TR into one of these, decent amount of soloability and you get the Bypass Alignment, Bypass Silver infusions at Level 12. More curious if construct essence works with Reconstruct... cause that would be insane. Possibly worth the -25% positive healing penalty.
as for skills... 4 + INT bonus and they have 8 class skills, so an Arty with 18INT keeps all 8 maxed out. Their enhancements include an Improved UMD, scary. The way Wrack Construct is worded it might work at range (its a time buff vs constructs). Oh and then there's that Battle Engineer... you left out the best part, " and you gain the ability to enchant your crossbow to instantly reload itself, allowing you to lay down incredible amounts of fire for a short period of time."
Everyone will be clamoring for Human, WF, Helf but only Drow will leave you enough AP for all those enhancements.
Someone whom people don't hate should start Arty Gunners UNITE!!!

This infusion doesn't specify melee in the text...not sure as I have no way to test this currently. Not sure what they intend for stacking or not stacking. One would assume a feat would stack..but....hmmm.
I'm assuming this isn't going to work together or something. I mean, you are looking at a 1d10 heavy repeater being a 2d10 then in point blank range you are suddenly at 4d10 (3d10 if they implement the +1 mechanic on PBS as well).
But then again, this ability will take something like the ESOS and turn it into a monster too.....so...maybe?

If it's not a bug, then they basically give Artificers a big part of the rogue mechanic class prestige for free.
The bonus scavaging parts from Mechanic 1 & 2 is not worth mentioning. I see as little as 2 parts and as many as 5, it's a bit silly to even think of it as a bonus.
Increasing trap DC is nice, but it's hard to even use them unless you are solo. The big boost on mechanic is the repeaters and being able to attach a damage stat to it.
So what really is the point of the Mechanic Prestige anymore when Arty's can get sneak attack with their pet among a plethora of other buffs (the mechanic pet dog is not even in the same game compared to the arty homoncolus), have all the boosts and perks of their Rune arm, get MORE perks with the crossobow, get MORE UMD than a rogue can hope for, get pretty great class buffs like stoneskin as a lvl 3 spell (available at level 6) and get more bonus feats than a rogue starting as early as level 4, while also being able to disarm traps with pretty much equal skill.
Mechanic needs an overhaul or it needs to synergize and gain perks with the artificer class. I mean, as it stands the difference between rouge and artificer seems to be the amount of sneak damage, evasion and you can get and two rouge prestige's (acrobat and assassin). Everything else (number of skills, UMD, d6 class, armor,etc), the arty either equals it or is better.
Maybe I just have Arty envy and need time to adjust, but it sure seems difficult to justify a mechanic as even a "flavor" build anymore when you are so deep in the shadow of another class like this. Note I said CLASS, not even prestige. The Arty prestige just adds a little *** icing on top.
So I really hope these two abilities stack.
Lol Mech defender vs. Arty defender....even if the ONLY difference was grease vs. fire breath arty defender would win.

Yup its tough, finding that sweet split. I have created and destroyed so many builds in the last 2 days I would cause someone with chronic alt-itus to demand I seek help. I almost want to hop on to my mechanic on live and just wait it out, lol. Im thinking 7/13 - arty/rogue deal, my goal is to beef up my mechanic, to me arty is like a new line of enhancements for my rogue mech. lol. I also, keep looking at Ranger, I cant shake the feeling that there is something there as well maybe, something as wild as 4/4/12 Rogue being 12 I dont know, my head hurts.

Assuming Eladrin was originally correct and that Insightful Damage will (when the bugs get fixed evetually) stack with RogMechI, I would think the following Multiclass split would be very conducive to a good repeater build:
Trying DDO again after 3 years away. I messed around with my old chars, but trying to remember how to play at level 12 is a bit of a challenge, and I always wanted to try a repeater build, so here's what I want to do:
Repeater only, I don't care about melee unless it's an ooze
Fully functional trap/search monkey
Also, I guess despite all the Favor i earned in the old days, none of it counts now, so I'm still a 28 point start and no Drow/WF, and I don't plan to pay money for anything other than the occasional adventure pack and the like.
So I'm thinking Human Rog/Rgr...anyone got a good build? I tried doing a search but the results weren't very helpful.
Despite all my old play, I'm like a n00b all over again, so feel free to explain things like I'm an idiot =)
Edit: Also, going arcane and picking up Bard is a decent option, I love bards..is something like Rog3/Brd17 viable as a repeater?

Although, as a premium player, you're not going to get WF without paying for it. Same with Monk, although with Favored Soul, you can choose to grind 2500 favor or buy it in the store.
The thing for me about the 6 ranger split though is the deepwood bonus over the feats. With point blank shot now adding double the base....I'm trying to quantify how much of a boost that extra 10 range is vs. getting more sneak levels with a higher rouge split.
Depending on your reasons for wanting Divine, it might be well worth your time to get that 32pt build favor (1750favor) and buy warforged on sale. You can go Warforged Wizard/Rogue, full traps, some repeater, arcane self healing & buffing (reconstruct it disturbing awesome).
just some thoughts while planning my backpacking trip.
Tried logging in on a newer server (my old one has 8 chars, and I don't want to delete 5 characters to build 1, and I still can't play a Drow. Just giving up at this point and moving forward. =)
