“No Battle Plan Survives Contact With the Enemy”
hmm... we might have to boot quik's pikers so we become a smaller guild to get more renown bonus...

So a game based off Dungeons and Dragons which required team work which meant a lot of times your running the same dungeons with the same group of friends and Guilds have no place in that? I think your wrong.
Im not trying to invalidate your percieved wrongs from the guilds youve joined but sometimes it takes a while before you find a good fit or even before you realize maybe I need to be captain of my own ship. I started out in one guild tried others and found my good fit. Drama happens but in a good guild its quite easy to squelch it and still stay solid. The guild I am a proud member of is a large one we have various personalities and playstyles but we are united under the premise that drinking is fun and we enjoy ourselves. Having a big fancy ship will be nice but it wont stop our raid nights wont stop us from hanging out in game or finding ways to incorporate the drinking game into any quest I guess what im trying to say is your absolute against guilds is very silly and I hope one day you find a group you actually enjoy being around or form your own and run it your way.
Recently completed a very slow Completionist adventure, playing each class until I was bored. My son (Henry) randomly picked the next class from the ones I hadn't done yet.
AltS- Pugtastic, Pugalicous, Pugnificent, Pugspione, Pugruly.
All proud members of Halfling Commandos
Unless I can bring my airship into the quest I don't see any real advantage other than having a one-stop-shopping place for all the vendors.
The special guild equipment that has been posted so far is all junk compared to greensteel/raid/epic equipment. Still no real advantage there.
So long as regular raiding provides enough renown to acquire, gear, and keep the an airship my guild will be fine. Screw running kobald assault over and over again.
Additionally, I remember seeing two different airship types. A mere 18 million gp gets the biggest of the gold-based airships. I could pay that myself without any real issues. Unless I really need the additional slots granted by the other airship type then one of the gold-based ships may be sufficient.
--Edit-- Upon closer examination the gold based airships do require a certain guild level. I still stand by my other comments. --Edit--
Does it matter if you are the first person on the block to get a fancy airship?
I don't even want the stupid thing and could care less about it.
Why are people making it out like this is going to be an epic change?
Who cares if a small line of text under someones name changes? It's still the same person and people playing...
A good player is a good player and I'm sure even a small guild can work to achieve a high guild rank, it will just take them longer.
I haven't seen an lfm in awhile saying how they gonna myddo applicants to there groups.
Can't wait to see guild renown lvl 10+ (example) lfm's pretty soon.
Nobody can deny it's gonna happen. We all know it will. Might as well start laughing about it now and get it out of the way.
Probably the first well thought out response i got. the others just prove my point that all guilds are full of thugss. its very easily and low brow to say its me thats the problem. sure it is. I mean i dont go with the flow, i dont go along with the gang, i dont believe in trendy **** etc. When i have an opinion i express it and god forbid a bunch of idiots disagree with me and send their whole guild at me. lol, all that is why guilds are worthless. now as to the spirit of d&d well, guilds have nothing to do with sitting down with people and rolling up the dice. i have been doing so since 1983. Its rare that i run into disagreements with others, especially when as it is implied i cant get along with people, as i have DMed many quests at conventions and have spent obviously many years playing d&d. but guilds...also know as groups of high minded abusive players...no...thats not D&D. thats this game. and im happy as hell to not be part of any anymore but saddened they give more **** to the guilds. oh well. like i said i dont get points for going along with the crowd...
