If Wotc was involved it'd be a book series:

    D&D for Dummies
    Rolling D&D Dice for Dummies
    D&D Character Sheets for Dummies

...then, when the sales started to dip: D&D for Dummies 2: Advanced Tips for Dummies (Cleric)
DDOcast - A weekly podcast about DDO!
Characters: Sarlona: Mockduck (Cleric): Beefheart (Fighter): Mockduk (Ranger/Rogue): Monkduck (Monk): Veiovis (Fvs/Rog) Guild: Mockduck (Rogue) Cannith: Mockduck (Fvs/Rogue) Twitter Facebook

I actually bought the 3.5 version of the book for some of my PnP players that were too lazy to read the regular books. It's not bad as a kind of 'intro'. Kind of like Basic D&D used to be a decent intro for AD&D. But the 'dummies' book at least is 3.5 rules without cutting much out.

The problem is one of the players thought it would be a good idea to borrow it for his wife, I think she was insulted

    /sigh

If a player showed up for one of my games with a "For Dummies" book, his character would most likely have a tragic accident, before ever leaving town.

    You forgot:
D&D Game Master Handbook for Dummies
    D&D Monster Manual for Dummies
    D&D Player's Handbook for Dummies (1,2 and 3)
How to paint your D&D Miniatures for Dummies

    ... The list goes on.

I think they'd be able to print more individual volumes than if they came out with both "The Encyclopedia Brittanica for Dummies" and "The Oxford English Dictionary for Dummies"
