Jeez, yet another froob hater thread - The other froob moaner threads didnt already cover your specific examples, but they sure did already kill skin and consume this topic to the point where its department of repitition department at this point.
It actually takes less time and effort to educate and guide new players than it does to post in all 36 of the "omg alot of players suck after MOD 9" threads, so I cant accuse older players in the "I know whats up crowd" of being lazy....
You will probably see this post as me trying to make a dig against you specifically, however this is not the case. I just see too many threads on this same subject, and hoping the last one I read was THE_LAST_ONE, then I come accross another one, and it sounds like the complaining about post MOD 9 players sucking will never end, and old players helping them learn rather than moaning about them will never begin.
Expecting people to just "know whats up" without having to cut their teeth is a pure cr@p arguement at this point. You didnt know what was going on at one point either, and the more experienced players educated you, and put up with you patiently etc. - Or maybe they didnt and mocked you, which makes you have the attitude that this is just how it works. In either case, I am not experiencing these issues that people are incessantly complaining about regarding current players, but its not because I dont group with froobs, but that I am willing to make a long quest ~10 minutes longer to help educate them.
If players are actually this intolerable, I suggest selective grouping.
Wheres my Beer and remote biatch?
I agree that "What we have here is failure to communicate" (Quote from....???) - But Communication takes place when both sides talk...AND Listen. The know it alls may not be talking eough....but I'm damned sure the froobs aren't listening nor communicating their lack of knowledge either.....
Seriously though (and please take no offense by my opening remarks....but what we are experiencing is a direct consecuence of even average players becoming "uber know it alls" after a year of Shroud griding and repeating every quest over and over re-roling a ton, starting lowbies every week and obtaining every piece of Raid loot worth having due to the Farming ability implemented long long ago. (Guaranteed Prizes every 20 runs and you better have a full Raid or your Drop rate sucks...).
I say let the older know it all crowd.....it does create a not so friendly environment, but I get ****ed everytime I discover that the Level 20 Caster has a 25 INT/CHA, or that our Barbarian has a 40 CON and 22 STR....(At least we have myddo.com)
A lot more I'd like to say...but gtg (and it's all been said already! )
So true it depends on a lot of things but sometime its more profitable to run stuff solo - most of the time i'm playing with a friend so i'd say duo.. Though joining a bad pug is like less then 10% of the time and it only happens on certain quests ( and yes i pug too when he's not online).
And last night i decided to start soloing the quest in Menectharun with my Wizzie and i thought first it would be hard and it wasn't that bad at all
Sarlona : The Quebeckers - Soloing, Duoing or Small Group in french
Thelanis : Sofa Kings - Yes, we are that cool

Cool Hand Luke What do i win!
Stormslingr (Pure Wiz) Stormss (TR'd to Exploiter) Stormsii (TR'd FS) Stormr (Pure Barb WF) Stormsy (Bard) Stormsz (WF Sorc) Stormzi (Pali/Monk)
It's the same old story as far as I've seen. Some lame players on both the vet and new side. Vets that think they are hot and get killed trying to solo stuff and loosing me my 10% xp. Most recent was some pally dual weilding dynastic khopeshes (those ones out of the desert) in xorian cypher and complaining about his toon not performing. Then you have the guys that don't communicate (as always). I really haven't noticed anything that I can't overcome with a guildie with me (and right now I'm only levelling a wiz to help them out and park at 20 for the past life feat - DRUID BABY! - it shall happen!). You just have to know when to turn on the tough love and when to use the nice guy approach.
Of course, I'm not to shy about calling someone out for being an @ss and letting them know they will be out of my next run if they don't shape up. Don't answer? "Hey guys, I'd say your good byes to XXXX. He won't be here next run," say Sam.
Doing a good job here is like peeing in a dark suit.
You get a warm feeling, but nobody really notices.
