I could see selling an item like, ghost touch, frost, fire or pure good weapon so newer players could attain a specific weapon that may be needed in quests like Deleras or Catacombs. But plus 1 weapons would probably get a newer player turned off from the game once they realized how easy it was to loot one.
There is no need to give a new player a first impression that they are getting ripped off.
For the current price, imho, the item should be-
+3 Weapon- No MINIMUM LEVEL. Make it exclusive, and named after your character "CS +3 Dagger", so it is an item to keep, and bound to account so I could pass it on to Cx, CL, etc.
I really don't think that any common + item should ever be sold, considering the availablity of them in the game.
The suggestion for +1 (metal type) is also a good one, and at least of some use, and I like the ideas about +1-+5 that grows with you as well.

AKA, Cb,Cg,Cj,Cl,Co,Cp,Cq,Cr,Cs,Ct,Cw,Cx,Cz and...Edvard. All the other C's were taken.

I agree with everyone else. I like A_D's idea of a scaling weapon, although a +1 cold iron and good weapon (for the early demons one encounters), or maybe an enhanced club of the silverflame that's actually worth swinging, stuff like that could be nice.
The items sold should still be sub-par to what you get out of quest chains like sharn's syndicate, but they should not be a waste of points. Incidentally, you may want to recommend that quest chain for new players wanting awesome weapons in your newbie guide
I mean, if you're going to spend some tps to get a better weapon, you may be better off just buying that quest series.
Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.
If the sale brings in a lot of money that can be used to further DDO development, then keep them! It's a way for the *ahem* somewhat less informed to spend their TP on. However, I'm assuming that it doesn't bring in a lot of money, in which case I would say absolutely, get rid of them. Totally pointless to buy and is a bit of a "trap" for the uninformed.
Remove the +1 weapons. That should be the clear path by this point, if it wasn't before the store even opened.
I would like to see weapons being sold to bypass various sorts of DR around the game: Silver, Flametouched Iron, Chaotic, Ghost touch etc...
Sell them as +1 weapons with the necessary properties. They won't be stellar DPS weapons, but they will be useful, as it can be a real chore acquire weapons just to function normally in some quests.
Yes, it can be a sort of rite of passage to finally acquire that weapon to take on a particular quest, but it can also just be a barrier to completion that often doesn't come up until you're already well into the quest (such as a group of melees who don't have any chaotic weapons at the end of VoN 3).
I'm surprised you can't track sales. If items don't sell then remove them. On a side note I do agree with all the above posters that stated it was kind of a sneaky trick to get noobs to spend TPs.
Please remove the +1-3 items from the store they are a trap and point sink for new players and could lead to bad feelings and maybe having people quit.

Personally I think they should sell the following weapons in the store:
+1 Adamantine (~40 TP)
+1 Frost (~60 TP)
+1 Shock (~60 TP)
+1 Flaming (~60 TP)
+1 Silver of Pure Good (~100 TP)
+1 Cold Iron of Pure Good (~100 TP)
All good for starting characters, all outclassed rapidly
