Only Impulse explicitly says it works on untyped damage now, while the text for Kinetic Lore hasn't changed. Do both now in fact work on Blade Barrier?

Might just end up doing a second Epic Focus as it seems we can take those multiple times....
You can't take the same one multiple times, but you could take epic spell focus for different schools if you had the pre-requisites for multiples.

My evoker is currently sitting at 23 even if I have enough XP for 25, mostly because the ability bonus at 24 is bugged, but also because I have no idea what feat I could take. Spell pen maybe, to hit those ~45 SR drows on epic elite, or empower heal because my heals need the extra boost until they fix the spell power thing being bugged for divines.

I'm also magister at the moment, which I'm enjoying because it enhances the character a lot (Bladebarrier and Implosion's DC is 51 atm, with -15% cooldown and +3 max caster level, so bladebarrier is 18d6).

Unfortunately, given most useful magister abilities are passive, it's not quite as fun as Exhalted angel. When I'll have 3 more fate points (or maybe 1 more fate point and a +2 fate tome), I may well go back to Exhalted angel, keeping the extra DCs through twists but losing the rest of magister bonuses, for more fun/healing power.

Just a quick question, many of my guildies and friends told me that Shiradi's champion was awsome for evokers too.
I haven't read it fully yet, nor can I do it now.

Can any of you point out to me why it is ? Which tier/which ability ? Apparently, the best part would be some random effects added to spells that would have great synergy with stuff as BladeBarrier.

I'll edit this post later with the answer to my own question if no one does it before.

Not really. Shiradi isn't bad, but you're better off twisting magister and draconic for better DCs and higher spell penetration.

There's also the fact that the DR 9/Cold Iron may or may not stack with the FvS Cold Iron DR capstone. If it does, you're looking at a straight-up DR 19, which beats any random effect or anything else you could get from Shiradi.

However, so far there has been no word from the devs or someone who has tried it.

How have you guys found soloing the new quests on an evoker?

I found that without 3 wiz and FvS lives my spell pen was not enough for drow and far too many enemies do not move making bb pointless. I'm curious if people with the past lives or higher up in ea tree were having more luck.

Tbh I respeced melee and even gimp human melee FvS does better soloing the new quests. Maybe in another 4 lives I will have the spell pen for drow.

Oh, I already have the draconic and magister twists if I ever get to swap destiny.
From what I understand, the good part about Shiradi is all in the Innates and tier 5-6 abilities, so it's something I'd have to keep full time.

I've read about it a bit, and it seems it's mostly for the passives (at level 6 you have 7% chance to add 10d10 sonic and another 7% chance to add 2d100 force to your spells, may well apply to archon), and maybe the +10% spell power when standing still and DoTing. Not sure about the Audience with the Queen...

Oh, and contrary to magister you can use the ability increase to wisdom, since you don't have that much else to use in the tree it's viable (I can't take more than 2 wisdom in exhalted angel for exemple).

Cold Iron DR stacking with the capstone ? Hmm... I wish I didn't take silver as my capstone DR. I'll try that.
Another positive aspect is the tree as multiple +Spell power increases that the magister doesn't.

So, to summarize : Non-negligible damage procs on spells (I believe they have a chance to proc every BB hit and every archon hit), better universal DCs thanks to +6 wisdom, better spell power thanks to the innates and tree increases ; and possibly uber cold iron DR ? I'm leveling legendary dreadnaught right now. I'll get to try both !

My evoker has been soloing some of the easiest epic elites already. House Dun'Robar is cake (shadowdancer for DDoor clicky woot !), Trial by Fury isn't too bad, the lvl 21 chain isn't crazy either. Haven't tried them all on epic elite, but done them all on epic hard easily.
If you face non-moving high-SR ennemies, don't be afraid of using Divine Punishment and Avenging Light (I've been twisting avenging light over Brace for Impact lately, using an exp 25% fort necklace instead of my torc when I'm not torcing).

I see your evoker is on life 9, not exactly similar :P.
There were way too many mobs to be getting them down with just light spells to be honest. Also, my toon was a level 20 getting into King's Forest quests and running them... Death Undone was basically the BEST of all the new content for my evoker (by then she had Judgement). I guess I'll return to evoker in another 4 lives or more.

I thought you were talking about twisting in sharadi, my mistake. Using it as a main? That's an interesting idea. Exalted angel gets a lot of DPS boosts as well as having the additional 5 caster levels for spell penetration. It's hard to say without trying it out, but I think EA would still come out on top.

Fantastic build, I am having a lot of fun playing it.

However, one question... why did you take all three ranks of the Favored Soul Charisma enhancement line?

Please edit your post so you are not quoting the entire OP. It's obnoxious and there's no point.

SO I've dusted this char off. I have 9 alts so I sometimes get caught up in one. In any case I don't have any GS item/weapon for this character yet. I know when I see most gear setups I see the Con-Op SP goggles, but with the new gear potential in u14 is goggle still the best place for it? I never know when I see gera builds if people build around the goggle slot because they don't want to farm another GS item. I know I enjoy the Magewright Goggles with the spell pen.

So if I could ask what would be my firs GS item? A Con-Op SP item (and if so placed where) or a weapon and the SP item later? I have enough GS mats for 1 for sure, but could possibly do both if I steal from another alt, but I'd prefer not to just yet.

    Thank you

So small bump here, but also some more info to help better answer hopefully.

    I have for gear:

Head: Minos - Toughness and Heavy Fort
    Neck: +6 WIS
Goggles: Magewright - The Spell Pen IX is what I like on this for Implosion
Cloak: Cloak of Night - DB and dusk mainly
    Ring1: +6 STR
    Ring2 +6 CHA
    Belt: Colethenia's (+6 CON +2 Seeker)
Wrist: Glacier - Have for the Arch Magi and Fire shield really and b4 I had Magewright the Spell Pen up to VIII
Armor: Epic Cav Plate (Not slotted pen to suggestions)
Shield: Light & Darkness (Unsupressed but I can farm to fix this)
Trinket: Epic Spyhunters (For TS and UMD)
Boots: Striding 30% with nothing special else

All +6 unnamed items are plain. As I said I just dusted this guy off so I'm sure I'm not "Wow-ing" anyone with impressive gear. Some of my other chars are better outfitted because I've spent more time on them, but after playing this one a bit recently I may make it more active. I've cleared the map in Kings Forest and am nearly level 21 now. I may TR him soon to make him a bit stronger, but wanted to get some gear first.

I also will add that I have the unsupressed Vibrant Purple Ioun stone that I could unsupress for the Spell Pen.

    Things I'd like to keep:
    - Armor - I like my Epic Cav. Maybe it's not ideal, but it seems to work well. Any suggestions for the blue slot?

    - Magewright goggles - This is the whole reason for my post I guess. The Spell Pen IX for drows is helpful. I know some people put it on an alchemical shield, but I almost never seen LOB runs any more so I have no ideal how long it would take to farm this out. Also as noted I could get it from an Ioun stone, but would lose the Torc slot (which I have been trying to farm. Have on my PM. Only a matter of time) I guess I could swap it out for when I need SP though, but would lose the Arch Magi SP upon taking off and switching.

    - I have my minos for heavy fort mostly. Not sure where else to slot it.

    - I have my cloak for DB. Dusk is nice but not a show stopper for me. I just would need to slot DB somewhere.

You'll also notice I lack TOD gear. I have been looking for a Keepsake forever and just got it so I haven't been able to farm ToD yet. Of course now that I have it ToD runs seems to be a lot fewer so I imagine any rings are a ways off.

So I guess apart from if I should make my GS SP as goggles or something else am I screwed on my gear? Any suggestions for quick fixes that won't handcuff me later on? (Please don't say re-roll LOL) As you can see Spell Pen is a must for me to work in somehow. I've seen some loot drops shields with Spell Pen IX, but I'd lose more on my light and darkness.

    Thanks in advance

Light & Darkness isn't giving you very much at all, honestly. You're not an arcane, and with epic cav plate, if you are true neutral the stability is only giving +1 ac/resist. Your class DR completely supercedes the 3/- provided by the shield.

It would be one of the first things I'd look at dropping.

A Vibrant Purple Ioun Stone might be a good source for Spell Penn 9 as well for ya.

THat would basically open up your wrist slot as well.

Thanks. With the Light & Darkness though, if it was unsupressed, wouldn't I also be getting the Epic DR5? Would that stack with the FVS DR for epic content? I'm guess though that even with that you're saying it's not worth it? Apart from the Alchemical Shield (which I think is ideal, but with LOB not being run much any more possibly very hard to get) would you have any suggestions for what to slot here? Maybe a couple options of short term vs an epic item that may take longer to farm?

Impact thanks as well. I will farm out the shards to unsupress my Ioun stone. I did it on my PM and have no idea why I stopped way back when on my FVS. Also I'm an idiot so please disregard my statement of the torc switching out. LOL. I always forget it's a necklace since I only finally got one for my PM and until then it was like a sober Charlie Sheen. A myth.

You should read about Damage Reduction on the wiki. Nothing stacks.
Alchemical shields are great, but the new staff from Caught in the web is great too. I personally have both and am enjoying the staff a lot. It allows me to have great potency and best impulse in game with little switching. A setup with alchemical shield may allow me to get 1 more DC (but that requires a wise +8 ring which isn't very easy to get).

I used to be a very strong defender of torc always on, but with EE melee mobs hitting for 150 dmg and archers hitting for 50-60, I'm starting to think of other options. Don't get me wrong, torc is required for torcing (lol), but when you'll be avoiding being hit at all costs, it's not as useful. I've been using an exp 25% fortification necklace to save me from twisting fortification, but still looking for better uses.

RumbIe, your Evoker should seriously consider wrist-slotting the Bracelet of Madness. This will cover your Spell Pen IX and give you Greater Evocation Focus.

I wouldn't sweat slotting Deathblock permanently. You can self-cast Deathward. If you *need* Deathblock, just pop on a DB item/armor briefly.
