Still need the pic in the AD&D players handbook depicting all the playable races (yes including Gnomes and Half-Elves).
The Half-Orc in that book looks rather weak, this was before the "hulkification" of the race.
Also needed the article from Dragon Magazine and the "Best of" issue that goes into detail on the gods of the orcs.
If anyone has links or can post pics of such that would be awesome.
A 3D hand-crafted Orc Village & a 3D CGI crafted Orc Village!
Here they are! It was not a lie! The Half-Orcs are running free!
So what ya think of the Half-Orcs?
I think maybe their name should be the Double-Orc or Twice-Orc based on their enormous size!
I mean jeesh...they look like they could be bigger than an Ogre!
Line-backers for sure.
I love how you can make your toon look more Orkish or more Human with subtle Orc accents.
Very Cool, its about time.
Until I see if Half-Orc brings more to the table than +2 str they are just another race.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Go for the eyes Boo!
Me I could care less what their bonus to whatever is...don't matter!
Here is to fluff and building the character you want to play and not to stacking numbers so I can grind the same quest over and over so I am prepped to grind the next quest over and over to build me my super-duper sword of superness.
Here is to fluff!
They're the only race with a bonus to strength.
According to rumor, they'll also be the only race with an enhancement line for Strength.
That means they'll have at least 5 points of strength on the Toaster Barbarians...probably more.
Add in Quintuple Madstone, Full ToD twinking, Epic weapon, Litany, +7 tomes, Barbarian Rage, Yugoloth pots, Airship buffs, yadda yadda and we'll have impossible-to-heal aggro magnets swarming the server within mere minutes of the servers coming up after Update 7.
I think my Cleric is going to take Barbarian Dilettante just so he can Rage along with these Half Orcs.
BTW, there is no Grummsh in Eberron. Most Orcs worship either the Sovereign Host or the Dark Six...the Mockery and the Devourer are popular.

Here is an Orc king ala King Conan, eh?
I think this is from a campagin supplement where you play Orcs.
I think it even came with an Orc-style character sheet that was written in "Hulk-Speech".
Great site that has compiled Tolkein influenced artists and their orcs.
You can play whatever you want, I'm not trying to nerf your imagination or issue orders. It's just that the majority of DDO players are not as familiar with the Eberron setting as they are with the PnP 3.0/3.5 default setting, which is based on the old Greyhawk stuff, at least as far as the pantheon of deities goes.
The Greyhawk religions and the Eberron religions both have cool stuff to work with in them. I'm not as fond of the Forgotten Realms pantheon, but that's personal taste. In a Greyhawk game, I'd LOVE to play a Cleric or Paladin of Wee Jas. I've done a little reading into her backstory and she just grabs my interest, even though she comes off as a bit of a strange duck if you only look at the core rulebook.
Likewise, the Eberron deities have lots of cool stories to tie in with. Far from limiting your imagination, a little reading might inspire you even more. Or, at least, it might give you a better idea of what shield design you want to shoot for when picking random gear.
I like this depiction. Reminiscent of the orcs from the the made for TV animated film. The Return of the King.
I can not wait to see everyone's own orc when the arrive!
