    Default First Person Camera View

Have you ever struggled to take a screenshot because your avatar is in the way? Trying to make a fan video, but you're Warforged head keeps blocking the view when you try and sneak around? Do you tend to navigate the game easier from a first person perspective? Good news - First-person view is coming!

You'll be able to mouse-wheel in on your character and see the world around you from the eyes of your avatar, rather than hovering behind/above them.

Still love the traditional 3rd person view? That's ok, you will be able to control your camera view by mouse-wheeling in/out to change from third-person, to first-person, and back again as often as you want!

Oh brother. Really? Tell me that this is just a byproduct of another big project that the programming resources were expended for.

    First person view, huh?

    Can't wait...

I wonder if certain aiming tasks will become less buggy.

At minimum, it should be easier for the devs to tell when something is veering off course.

Always good to see more UI options being added - sounds like an especially good thing for video producers.

Will it also be possible to turn off the buff bar, the action point bar and, most importantly, the party list?

I never cared about 1st vs 3rd person view, but I have a friend that just recently subscribed (due to my prodding) and the first thing he said to me is: Why is there no first person view, I hate the 3rd person view.

So, different strokes. It's important to some folks.

I played FPS before DDO. Getting use to 3rd person view was quite a hurdle. Good to have options. Thanks.

Out of the three, this is the one I am most excited over.

First person view has been brought up time and again and I'm glad to see it.

Sounds great, but I suggest a option so you can lock out 1st person. It is going to suck to scroll in a tad while in 3rd person and immediately jump into 1st if you are use to 3rd person view, especially in combat. I use my wheel and scroll out an in all the time, I really do not want to be "accidently" jumping into first person.

This one is one of the "okay nice" kinds of things for me. I know some folks would really like it, and it doesn't adversely affect anyone who isn't interested, so bring it on!

For those interested in more people coming to the game, this is actually a rather important change. Im not that interested, but there are a lot of players out there that REALLY prefer first person view to the point where it affects which games they choose to play. This is a very smart move and change. Definitely something that should be put on a screenshot or box art and marketed....hint, hint...

Does the screen 'bob' up and down as you walk - like some FPS games?

If 'yes' - then maybe make it an option? I'm not sure everyone will like that. More options and player UI customisation are always good in a game.

Please don't mess up the current view system, if it goes FPS style I won't be able to play DDO anymore. FPS give me motion sickness, so its not a great option for me anyways. Hopefully this is implemented as an selectable option and does not adjust the current camera system.

I like this change. There are times when I have been trying to spot some item but my avatar is in the way. Yes tab works, but not when there are 10 piles of coins from broken barrels lying around or 10 collectible bags.

Also, this might make targeting easier as I know a few times I have cast a firewall on my OWN head by having my avatar in the way of my cursor.

Last sentence of the post says its optional...you can move in and out from 1st to 3rd person.
