My ac gear plan right now is as follows (all epic slots not figured out until everything else is in, assuming gem change):
Head: Min 2 hp item
Necklace: Epic Grim's Bracelet
Goggles: Epic Raven's Sight
Trinket: Epic Gem of Many Facets
Armor: Icy Rainments
Bracers: Epic Scorched Bracers (Greater False Life)
Cloak: Epic Cloak of Night
Belt: Epic Siren's Belt
Gloves: Epic Charged Gauntlets (+6 wis)
Ring 1: Kilau's Band (+2 dex)
Ring 2: Epic Seal of the Earth
Boots: Epic Boots of Corrosion
This gear set should get me about 90 ac, assuming best tomes and all, with 36-point build (16 16 14 12 14 8 for stat spread at the beginning) while using my best weapons (+5 Holy Burst Silver Khopeshes of Greater Lawful Outsider Bane).
Very heavy on epics, and I'm considering switching some things (and seriously considering slipping in a fire-air-air alchemical khopesh for my off-hand modified for dr-breaking). In the mean time until the gem is fixed, I'm using a min 2 in the offhand (unless an arti is in the party, yay silver weapons ). +5 Holy Burst Silver Khopesh of Incite +20% ready to slip in at all times on off-hand when I need the hate, of course.
Hit points are still too light to tank the really fun bosses (can't tank horoth above normal, for example) but it should be sufficient for lots of fun (should hit ~550, counting pots).
Only other problem is you don't get ToD sets in ac mode, but ac mode isn't so much about damage as holding aggro....for dps mode, things change a lot, but that looks a lot like every other build's dps mode. My ranger is last in line for the claw set, though...so it's not even thinking about getting it.
Edit: I'd like to add that if you're willing to do cannith crafting, the weapons are beastly...Most people don't want to put in the effort, which is fine, but when they're swinging min 2s or equivalent, they're doing a lot less damage (can't count on an artificer being in the party for silvered lit 2s unless you're an artificer, and these weapons are still slightly ahead of lit 2s). This works to your advantage if you're tanking...a lot of people will use min 2s to break dr, meaning you'll likely gain that bump in dps as well.
