    Objectives
    The request was for a bard/rogue that would do strong damage, buff the party, do crowd control, heal, and handle traps.

    Design
    Bard and rogue are easy enough to mix, and warchanter helps with buffs and to overcome the lower inspire courage from multi classing. I decided to let fascinate be the CC element and to abandon high DC/Spell pen. And of course at 20 it gets ottos irresistible. In exchange I used feats and enhancements to crank up healing to a pretty significant level, both from his own spells and from scrolls and wands. A fighter level helps the dps out and gives us the warchanter feats. The build is a bit slow to gell, starting mostly melee and comes into its own in levels 9-15.

    I chose drow for the weapon enhancements and the stat distribution which makes dex/int/cha cheap. Rather than go finesse, I wen't str based but with a modest starting strength... an odd choice at first but finesse would go against the DPS request and maxing str would hurt the other sides of the build. Stats end up very evenly spread in the mid to upper 20s. Unusual but you can hit a wide number of runes and levers. HP is an issue on this build and some play style tweaks are needed to deal with it, but evasion and displacement, and some strong CC help with that.

    You make a great party gopher. You can fascinate tough crowds, sneak around, disarm traps, open locks, add a lot of DPS to others, do decent DPS yourself, use all sorts of scrolls, and throw some heavy heals in short bursts. What you have to watch out for is the shallow HP pool and shallow SP pool. Evasion will help here but you have to watch your agro and manage mana wisely (or chug a lot of pots and then who cares?)

    It looks like an interesting build - but the starting stats are for a 32 point build - not for a 28 point one. The closest I could get with 28 was 12/16/12/14/8/14.

    Hey there,

    I was using the older version of this for a solo character and it has been working great up until now. Could you sum up the advantages/disadvantages of this build over its predecessor please?

    I was also contemplating taking fighter at an earlier point to allow me to pick up warchanter, is there anything I need to consider prior to this?

    That stat line is very doable for a normal 28 point drow.
    13/15/12/16/8/16 is
    5 / 5 /6/ 6 /0/ 6 BP, is 28 points. If you had trouble getting the stats right, you were probably using a different race.

    188 HP at 20 is painful though, personally I'd consider dropping either maximize or empower for toughness, as well as perception, and OL enhancements to get racial toughness 1 and fighter toughness 1, but all in all a good build, you can always tweak to taste.

    How much will all the +2 Tomes Cost?

    (EDIT* at first i was curious about more cc based version but i like the healing spec more now that i thought about it.) ^_^

    You mentioned using ottos irresistable dance at lvl20, but are you sure you have access to it with only 16 caster levels? I was under the impression that OID was an 8th lvl spell.
