I have a great idea.. Why dont you have a thread where we can post our questions about mod six and they are actually answered. I think it would make us all happy considering we actually pay for the game. It seems odd that to get information about a game we pay to play, we have to go to some other site or join a live chat. Why can't we just use the forums we have now?

And yes, before some one gives me a list of reason.. I completely understand the thinking behind it. The idea of a press relations and all that.. I just think that the devs should list the information thay are willing to share.. Yes.. more thatn the weekly development notes. Heck if typing it is too much.. Create dev podcast.. You just have to talk about it. I am just tired of the devs being so hush-hush.. I am not 4 years old.. Why all the secrecy?

I also understand that the devs don't want to talk about things and then they not work out. Well, I am not 4 years old. I am not going to throw a fit. My example for this whould be when a producer announced that we would have monks in mid to late 2007. The keep saying they are comming then i read in another "chat" post on another site that they are planning them for mid to late 2008. Why am I hearing this from another site.

Make an official post that we can have reasonable and consistant updates. Where the players can ask questions and they are given a real answer not a "YARK..YARK".. jusk we get from some devs.. I like the the personality.. don't get me wrong, I would just like more.

And not this is not a rant. I am content with the game. I just think communication to the players could be increased.

I think I'll finally be able to make this one. I hope you're ready for some hard hitting questions.

I like the concept... I simply hope this is not just another session where every question is answered by a generic "We're looking into that" response like the Risia chat was.

People actually being able to answer questions, and give specifics would be... well... lets just say this will be like watching a good movie for the first time, you never know what will happen at the end.

I think the best indicator will be past dev chats of which there are a few. In those they tend to give better answers but still tend to keep it vague so not to spoil it. That is what Risia is for

    Okay, here's your list

1st) Developers are not the people who decide what information we can have.
2nd) Developers are willing to share all of the information; they are forbidden from doing so.
3rd) The Weekly development notes are what the PR people have decided the Developers may share.
4th) Developers who are not hush-hush lose their jobs.
5th) this seems like a mature request, but please recognize that mature requests are outside the norm, even here.
6th) Monks are still 'coming'; they will be here "soon"(tm). It sounds more likely to me that the year was misinterpreted.
7th) An offcial post with reasonable and consistent updates... Sounds great! Maybe they can do it in a weekly format? The Developers could announce the things that they've gotten done, or are working on, pass it through the PR people... what would we call that? Some sort of weekly announcement by the Devs... or how about, Weekly Developer Announcements!

We could use a bit more communication, but the number of unintelligent/indecent posters on here makes me think it volatile.

Keep in mind that, while the Townhall on Risia was a chat with Q and Tolero, this is a Dev Chat with, you know, the developers.

That doesn't necessarily mean there will be more answers, but it does mean you're talking to the guys actually writing the code instead of the Customer Service people. (Not that we don't like talking to you two too.)

Edit -- Oh. And are you guys ever going to "announce" the Ten Ton Hammer interview? It might be good to get it up on the launcher at least, so non-forumites can see it.

I'd like to remind people that this is a GREAT opportunity to ask some important DDO related questions.
If you just wanna say "hey" or ask about monks and orc and guild housing or tell em you love em, do it in the forums PLEASE.
Give the ppl with some extra "tough questions" a chance to ask em!

Hey, do you know if monks are coming out soon? I would really love it if they put them in soon!

It is really good to see a return to this, the last one had a lot of good information and i hope this one turns out the same.

I love this idea but would like to see them happen on the weekends or at different times. Both meetings so far were on weekday nights. Which means your probably going to get the same players as last meeting since those are the ones who can play at that time. I want to attend but I have work just like last time, and Im not addicted enough to DDO to take off from work for a meeting. But please think about having the next one if there is one, at a different time or on the weekend when other people on different playing times can attend as well!

    I hope there's a good turnout tonight.

Just a heads up: if you want to participate in the chat, you have to set up IRC (Internet Relay Chat) - check out Warcry's instructions here.

Thanks again, devs, for setting this up!

I just want to pass on my impressions as well as what Im hearing from others in-game. I think turbines changes to the game are causing people to leave the game. I personally enjoy playing, however I stopped for about 3-4 months cause I got bored with it and I got frustrated with the constants changes. Things I've noticed:

    1) Oh you figured out how to range helos in SC. No No No. Just cause we give you ranged weapons, we don't want you to use them. Rangers are useless, Its not how we want you to kill helos, so lets take away the ridge to range him from. In real life, if we were going on a quest to save the world, dont' you think we would have our ranger scout and he comes back and says "there s 5 minos and 3 trolls, but I found this really great ledge that we can take those trolls out from, follow me"

    2) Velah. Whereas I agree the whole drag them to home base and die is really dumb, instead of changing the agro so they stayed on base, I would have put in a few surprises to that party who resurrected the puller to where all that stuff he agroed to home and let kill him immediatly agros back onto him when he is resurrected. This would have taught them to figure it out better. I think in reality those mobs should agro and FOLLOW. I think thats more reality as to what would happen if this wasn't a game.

    3) give us a spell called cometfall and we figure out it causes titan to trip and thus we take down titan. Oh No No No, just cause we give you a spell, doesn't mean we want you to use it. We put those pillers there for a reason. So use the pillers, thus we gonna make your spells useless.

I think my point here is, and this is why I know of many people who have stopped playing and is why I stopped for 3-4 months is because you keep giving us abilities and then we use those abilities and you call them exploits. If you didn't want titan to be trippable by cometfall, don't make him trippable by cometfall to begin with. If you didn't want Helos to be ranged, dont put it in the landscape. If you don't want velah's mobs to leave their bases, don't allow it to begin with. But don't constantly change the game, nerf this, remove that, remove this, etc. Just to keep people playing longer. People are going to play longer if they enjoy it. You constantly removing this ability, or nerfing that ability, or changing this, or changing that is what drives people away.

This brings me to my latest point of Mod6. Now from what I understand, no more XP debt if you die, rathr instead you take item damage. Since when is this Dungeons and Dragons Rules, and lets talk about reality:

Gringlock and Maldonor are walking through the forest and happen across a big ogre who triple shots Maldonor and she dies. Gringlock casts a spell on Maldonor and she is alive again, however she is barely alive, which means she is a very week state and still has to recover. XP DEBT should occur. In addition, the Negative Level idea should occur. I think even make it to where a lev 14 char upon resurrecting lives and is level 4, increasing one level per minute. That will achieve the goal of the party taking things slower. In reality this is what would occur, the negative level is not so much of a punishment, rather this is the time where that player must "recuperate" from dying, gain strength back, eat his chicken noodle soup, so to speak. But the death occurs to the character. HIS/HER ITEMS have nothing to do with the death. Granted, maybe that person died because of a blow to the head, thus the headgear is damaged. I can understand that. But that already occurs today.

Here is the talk going around Khyber at least. Im sure its similar on other servers. You are creating item damage because you want to keep people playing longer, thus more money in your pocket. Ive also heard that people feel that you are creating a way for people to bind their items and thus never take perm damage in order to prevent items from being passed from character to character thus making people have to farm more for the items for each character. Whatever your reasons, I believe the impression of the community is that your just nerfing something else. It doesnt' make sense.

The way your gonna keep playing playing is to focus on new content and monks, druids, etc. But you seem to keep yoru developers working on ways to "nerf" the game instead of focusing them on new content. At this rate, the game is gonna die, just like Asherons Calls Did.

I am not a WoW fan, I actually can't stand WoW, but I will say this much about it. They don't focus on changing current content, nerfing currnet spells, nerfing this, nerfing that - rather they expand the world itself. Thats why WoW is successful. I personally can't stand playing a smurf and killing smurfs, but whatever the case, the players on it like what they have - its huge, its expansive. Why can't turbine focus on expanding instead of changing.
