Default Husband and Wife On One Account?

Hi! I had a question and I think this is the right place for it. My wife has shown an interest in playing DDO (she plays WoW mostly but she likes how the different pace of this game looks for having variety). The problem is that we only have 1 computer and can't afford another account. Does she have to have her own account or can she keep a character on my account? She only has interest in having 1 character that she can play once in awhile.

    Thanks for your help

Well your account is yours to do with as you please, only one of you can be logged in at a time though - so keep that in the thought process of who's getting to play and when...

Sharing accounts is against the Terms of Service which you agreed to when you created your subscription. We do not actively police this policy, and will only take action against an account if a ownership dispute occurs (for instance, your wife gets really mad because you didn't take out the trash and changes your password on you, you call us and claim your account has been stolen).

The previous poster was correct in the fact that you will not be able to access the game at the same time with only one subscription.

Am I the only one who has great fear that all it would take would be one severe spousal argument, and I'd log in to find an empty lineup of characters, with only the Create button glowing away at me?

There is that. But I think the bigger issue is what was posted by Yeti.

You never know, your wife could really like DDO
    So yes issues could arise
where one is on and the other WANTS to logg on...

But the main thing is you don't want to jeaprodize your account.

Set her up with her own trial account, that way she can try it and see how she likes it.
If she feels she really likes it; after the trial period you can look over the budget
and see it it is in the budget to open another accout for her.

I always tell my wife; I waste more than $15.00 in one weekend...

But that that way you won't be violating any rules.

You can still share the computer till your budget allows a second one.

The main thing then will be arranging the time share on the Computer.

Thanks for the helpful responses. We do plan on her getting her own account once we're in a more stable financial situation (and I get my own computer) so she's mostly just trying it out without having to make her account right now. She wanted something to play when she wanted to take a break from her other game. I rolled up the character and everything, she just takes it out for a spin now and again.

And she won't mess with my account because her WoW account is under my name

If she has any Names she wants to save,
she could get the Trial Account anyway.

All it would do is go in to suspension when it expires.
And when she is ready she could reroll the way she wants.
That way if she has any Names in Particular that she likes they would be saved.

Have fun! And hope to see you in Stormreach.

Yeah.. I have encryption enabled on my harddrive, a secondary encryption service running in the background, only I have the administrative password to the computer, everyone has their separate login, and I use impossible to guess passwords.
