Just have to remember, it takes time to modify our /squelch list and guild warning lists. Lots more people thrown into the mix now. Eventually they will find themselves in fewer and fewer groups and perhaps then change their ways.
It doesn't matter if you're a roll player or a power gamer. You still need to work with the team. The simple solution to this matter is, ask the person who put up the LFM which type of party it is, and if you're not willing to participate in that, keep looking.
Most of us prefer a fast-paced power run. We have little to no tolerance for repeated displays of ignorance and poor team play. If the leader asks the group if everyone is familiar with this quest, and you're not, speak up! There will be less pain for everyone involved if they know they have to watch out for you a bit than if you feign knowledge and then are the one to throw a hammer down the hallway full of beholders. Also, if you're not familiar with the quest, for the love of party wipes, stop running off and doing things on your own. Listen to the party and follow along.
I didn't play on beta, I wasn't there for head-start. I was taking a lovely all-expenses paid tour of Southwest Asia and the Middle East. However, I got along fine on Xoriat when I started playing with one simple strategy. "Hey guys, I've only been playing a week and I've never done this quest. What are the best spells for me to mem?" And guess what, the party leaders appreciated knowing in advance and we all knocked the quest out.
It's that simple.
