So there I am running my level 11 (at the time) Cleric/Paladin on the all new ThelXorThar server. I joined a PoP group of level 14s which had cleared all but the last room (someone may have been 13 but the majority was lvl 14s). I Figured that they lost someone due to IRL issues or LD and needed help completing or just being nice and allowing someone to join in for the last chest and end reward.
Heck I needed the XP as well so figured I join in. I get there and it seems like a solid group. Sorc, another cleric, tanks. Nicely rounded party at first glance. As Im in the group I start deducting that most of the party had never done PoP before except the Sorc and myself. However the Sorc seemed a little under expierienced himself but still knew the quest. Well we get to the bottom, orbs in slots and do some group buffs. Haste is cast and lever is pulled... and don;t you know that's when it all went wrong.
My Cleric/Pally (10/1 at the time) could use Heal Scrolls and Raise Dead but mostly I was DPSing (yes clerics if built with the right stats and gear can do that). Well I soon learn that I have more HP and AC then the tanks, the Sorc seems unable to drop Fire Walls, or any spell since he was at 1/4 spell points for the entire fight and running around doing almost nothing. the other cleric seemed overwhelmed and I end up switching from DPS tanking to full cleric mode. Normally I drop decent group heals around the fight or with scrolls, so I can continue to DPS.
Eventually I am the only one left standing and throwing scroll after scroll to rez and heal my party members back to full just to watch them die all over again because they can't seem to grasp the simplest concept of RUN AROUND UNTIL WE'RE ALL ALIVE AGAIN. This continues for about 4-5 minutes. After a solid 70k to 80k plat wasted in scrolls I gave up and allowed myself to die.
Not once ever on my home server had I witnessed such an utterly inept grouping of players. Now Xoriat has the rep of being rude and hateful. To this I say THANK YOU!! However... lets have some perspective here. Xorians don't "hate" everyone all the time. We love our mothers... mostly. However our expectations for our fellow players are simple. By level 14 you should know how to run the most basic of quests and also know how to play your character.
I for one have no patience for idiots. If you don't know a quest that's one thing. Live and learn and do better next time. If you don't know how to play your class after 11+ levels then I am sorry but you are now showing you're an idiot.
I guess this quest was my initiation to the worst that Thelanis has to offer (man I hope it can't get any worse). Welcome to Thelanis!!!!
