Would like to hear other people's thoughts on this.
From what I'm seeing, as you get higher and higher up in level tanks are less and less the vital part of a party that they used to be.
Instead of the classical party design of 1cleric, 1 caster, and 3-4 melees (depending on whether a rogue is needed), it seems to me that high level parties are more powerful if you switch those numbers around between melee and casters, giving:
When I say "caster" feel free to sub in as many bards as you like. There's nothing like having enough bards that you only have to actually fight the end boss to complete a quest.
So again, I would love to hear people's input on this. Agree or disagree. Tell us all your strategies to make this kind of thing work really well. What kind of experiences have you had where this kind of thing does or doesnt work well.
