Druid fighter Build
I was doing GH Tor EH with someone named darvec a couple of days ago. He was a druid, and he made short work of the dragons. His damage was great, even without the abuse of avatar of nature+ quick attack speed. I later asked him what his build was (since for the life of me i cannot properly build toons T_T) He only had some information. I was wondering if anyone could give me a decent breakdown.
This was the info he could give me;
druid 18 fighter 2
Stat bonuses in STR
weapon focus bludgeon
shield Master and improves shield mastery
improved crit bludgeon (works for increasing threat range of wolf form)
natural fighter x3
From enhancements he could only tell me he had reaving roar while leveling, switching to fatal harrier once he capped for pure damage.
main ED was primal avatar, with primal scream twisted in.
Final weapon layout was this.
main hand: +6 holy burst shor tsword of hemmoraging (base damage is irrelevant here because all of your base damage comes from your animal form your in as does crit range)t
off hand: any non-metal shield with 6% doublestrike on it
gloves: purple dragon Gauntlets
boots: Epic Elite Treads of falling shadow
rings: Epic Elite ring of shadows & Con 8 ring
cloak: vitality of resistance +7
trinket: Epic shamantic fetish
necklace: Epic hard Jorgundal's Collar with +200SP and +7 wisdom slotted
Helm: Epic elite black dragon helm +8 strength w/ +2 exceptional slotted and heavy fort
goggles: Drow smoke goggles
armor: Flawless black dragonscale armor +2 wisdom slotted
This was roughly the info he gave me. Could anyone make a lvl by lvl build with an enhancement list, skills, and spell that I should take? And at which levels to take the fighter levels? He didn't seem to remember -_-
Thanks in advance!
Never done that build so I can't give you a full breakdown that's game-tested.
That said, I can say that when you take the fighter levels won't matter when you're capped. It's basically a question of 'do I put off druid stuff to get an extra feat'.
I question any druid build that doesn't go down the Cleave -> Great Cleave -> Overwhelming Critical line though. I'd definitely find some way - any way - to fit that in. The crit profile for winter wolf matches khopeshes and as such deserve the build attention.
With both those statements in mind I usually take my fighter/monk levels at 1 and 6 when I'm building a splashed druid. Level 1 is to allow you to take both Power Attack and Cleave. Level 6 is to allow you to take Great Cleave along with another feat instead of just Great Cleave.
Since you're splashing you will have to take Natural Fighting at levels 12, 15, and 18. That means your meta's either have to come at 1 (only if you start druid which I wouldn't recommend), 3, 6, or 9 or they have to come at 21/24. Ditto for Toughness.
You may want to check out hermespan's pure wolf build; and this thread for some of the downsides of wolf-based DPS.
Glad I could make it on the forums after being back in the game for 3 weeks!
A couple of notes that I have noticed from reading other post and just in general thinking about it.
as much as it would be awesome to squeak in cleave--->Great cleave---->overwhelming crit there is nothing I can think of that you can reasonably drop to make room for these 3 feats.
because I started out with literally nothing on the server I didn't have the con at the time to get epic toughness, which you can fit into this build at lv 21 or 24 if you have to con to get it (pushes base HP with primal scream and animal growth to over 1k HP in WOLF form, tanky enough?)
This build should really be a Half-elf and take rogue dilly, this requires you to run around with a radiance weapon all the time, such as Celestia, brightest star of day which while not a bludgeon weapon if you want to run around in legendary dreadnought(for the bonus lightning damage). with your radiance weapon it should add up to more damage than if you were using any random bludgeon radiance weapon.
Here is my attempt at throwing this mess into a character planner up to 20 and regurgitating it onto the forums for all to enjoy!
why empower healing?

Empower healing is taken instead of empower spell because it works with Heal as well as any other healing spells and is cheaper SP wise (which this build is kinda starved of) and to be terribly honest this build should never be trying to use ANY offensive spells besides those that are wolf form only because this build both can't hit the DC's needed and has an extremely small focus on getting any spell power and there is no room gear wise to get it in.
Tomes are assumed as they are because that is what I had before I TR'd and assumed 32 point build, if 34 -1 from dexterity and +1 to strength.
no way in hell cleave/greater cleave/overwhelming critical will make it into this build.
at lv 21 take either epic toughness or Natural fighting and then take the other at lv 24 (easy enough!).
I'm sure the enhancements blow chunks so it would be better if someone could clean it up a bit or contact me when you want to get them done once capped :P (only slight focus on bear form which you WILL use when you pull aggro and it is quite possible I am missing other things that should be on there).
now this build is SLIGHTLY different than the druid you saw (-1 feat which the build actually didn't need and gained DPS from it so I believe this is better).
Tried and tested by me! with the SS I mentioned the build would be complete :P
as to the down side of wolf DPS? Yes it is slightly lower in theory than some other DPS builds you can go (such as the might juggernaut build!) but it can more than compete and even outshine most other builds in terms of sheer DPS and the ability to be extremely self sufficient.
uhm. . . any questions?
The enhancement list looks nice, I don't know much bout druid but while I play it I might see the need to edit things. but for now I don't see what would be wrong with it.
I got some questions though.
1, spells. I don't know any of these druid spells, what spells did you take? ( a shame 1 slot is used for summon creature companion).
2. The guy I spoke with that lead to this thread said he wielded a longsword. Yet the pure druid build lists clubs as weapons. What should I go for, does it actually matter?
1. spells you should be focused on healing spells and buff spells, and of course the spells that you can use in for form (baiting bite, Jaws of winter)
