Until I can get my +10/+20% xp for doing a quest below level, that -10% for dying is a loss
You people are really trying to make me cry arn't you?
Happy now? :D
What needs to be done is to move the -10% from the whole party to the one who dies only. Why should the rest suffer for the mistake of one person? This rule is counterproductive towards building a healthy pugging scene and to grouping in general, and only creates conflict and barriers between players.
Please change this Turbine.
I was recently in PUG like this. Leader gave us a 5 min speech about not dying.Quote:
if the LFM says "don't die" it means just that.
You know what happened next :D
I blow up 2 trap boxes in haywire foundry (von3) last night. You know in the hidden shrine near the end. I did the first one. Bang! Crit fail, checked my gear wearing right stuff (check) and my buffs (check) and did the second one - bang crit fail.
Sure sometimes (actually most of the time) people die from stupid avoidable things, but it's always good to remember that everyone from time to time can roll a 1 (5% chance)
When I lead group (you see this about one time a year and only when players have less total brain than me, I am very dumb) I say I have just one rule, definately no dying, and definately definately no dying stupidly or I screen shot and name and shame on forums for give everyone good laugh. This is working for me well and I invite you to try it, it's good!
Don't worry you will have good groups soon and then with how luck is probably you will be the one dying when they say not to. LOL! Good luck and good loots.
I do appreciate that the OP was trying to help others by allowing them to get some easy XP though, that's really kind of you.
I'd be absolutely mortified if I got myself killed in a situation like that where someone with more experience was helping me out...which is why I never join the LFMs that say "don't die" because I really do not want to get someone upset if I goof. ;)
You must have blown the DC by 5 or more. (as per personal experience and ddowiki)
Sure people roll 1s, but unless it is a death effect w/o a deathblock item or the spell, then it is a nonissue.
I guess you could roll a series of 1s against dmg magic (pit fiend meteor swarm and DBF come to mind back when cap was 16), but this would be really rare)
