Thanks for the input everyone! I'll be adding more maps as soon as I have time. :)

For now I've updated 'Ruins of Gianthold' again as of this posting and added the missing data. I'm not happy with it and think it's ugly but then I'm a perfectionist. I might play with a cleaner style I've been developing later. I'm still looking for a way to add pathing without destroying the integrity of the map. I'm listening to your suggestions! Keep them coming!

:D Cheers all!

thanks for the map.

i think the shrines need to be more visible.

also, can you label the encounters like "2 fairliths" on the way to PoP or the 6 dwarf camp on the way to foundation of discord?

that would be great.

you could always do tooltips that pop up when we scroll over stuff to see what is there that would clean up the map only down side is for printing

04-20-2007, 03:25 PM
Yah a flash map would be awesome if I had the experience and access to use flash. It would allow selectable layers to be displayed and tooltips like mrtreats suggested. But alas all I have is Adobe Photoshop CS2.

I am playing with a new smaller style similar to the current encounter reference that may solve the problem. I've also toyed with the idea of numbering the icons and providing a reference off to one side. Please let me know which you think would look better as well as remain functional.

I'm starting to hear requests for danger zones as well. Please let me know if you only require to know where groups of mobs are or if you require more details like numbers and types. That will determine how I lay it out.

Thanks all! Keep the feedback coming!

your maps are great!

I assume you are using screenshots and cutting them carefully together, very well done.

I had looked into trying to decrypt the dat files in the DDO directory, but had no luck. My searches on the web showed that other ppl have had luck with older turbine games like "asheron's call"...

Even if you dont number them I think a legend should be provided to explain the red 'x's and whatever else... although it is pretty self explanitory.

Airidil

Hi Harncw. The process starts with exploration of every inch of the map. Then I take screenshots of chests and named monsters I encounter. It's a fact finding mission. Finally I take screenshots of the maps and photoshop them together. Once I have the base map I start by color balancing the map and adding labels from a personal prefab format I've created in photoshop.

The Menechtarun Desert map took me several days to explore and weeks to make. Since then I've refined my process and Gianthold took about 3 days. I had to take time to play the awesome new content after all. :)

I've updated the map with a new label style I am playing with. I think it increases visibility of the map. I have the old style saved in case this one is poorly received. :o I also removed the 'In' field in the quest labels since the 'bestowed by' pretty much says it all and it saves space.

Next I have to map danger zones so everyone can navigate Gianthold with my confindence :D It's like my second home now. Cheers!!

Good map.
One thing your missing is a guide telling what type of location your listing.

Need that because some rares dont have chests so you dont put a chest icon, and then people may think those are explore locations rather then named mobs or vice versa.

Be nice to have a different icon for quest, area, explore location or rare named.

According to Quarion all rares should have chests, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lord Two-Stone (who's the only one without one currently) gets one in the next update.

Airidil

I'll add a legend in the future maybe. I expected people to get the list from the quest log and then reference the map , but for now here is a reference:

Yellow Underline = Rare Encounter
Green Underline = Exploration Location

As my friend MysticTheurge said...Lord Two-Stone is the black sheep of the rare encounter family and doesn't have a chest. Lord Ragath and Brazwold are sharing a chest...interesting :D

I've posted The Crucible map. Enjoy! Red lines are gates, either automatic, part of an NPC script or have a switch. I haven't decided how best to represent the different data. The gate at the final battle by the shrine doesn't open, a la VON 1.

The maze is in it's starting state so you can easily see how to throw them to get where you need to go. The crests and crest sockets by the gates (marked again in red) are random.

The doors and dragon horns are numbered because this is a two story layout and it's easy to be confused by the test of wisdom which is partially above the canal after the maze.

Still don't know how the hidden room's chest is opened. Since the locked chest is unpickable our group has a suspicion that the diseased treasure holds the key (literally?). We've never pulled anything from it other than a disease yet but will try blessing it and turning it once we can get a paladin or cleric through the underwater torture tunnels.

Speaking of the tunnels...watch out for spikes in the underwater tunnels...they are brutal. Bring LOTS of cure seious POTS since they can be used underwater and your cleric will most likely wait at dragon horn door 4 and tell you to go jump in a canal ;). Also the fan blade marked in blue to the right of Dragon Horn Door 4 has a small gap above it you can fit through if you are nimble enough.

Good luck fighting the current. :) Ingenious!

Edit: I've pumped out enough maps for this week. I'm going to play for a bit as well as get back to programming. Don't worry though! I'll make more maps. :D

The key is hidden in the diseased treasure. If you talked to the guys at the beginning with enough bluff/diplomacy/intimidate (approx. 20 each on elite) and got all four of the optionals before talking to Jorgundaal then the windlasher's patrol leader will find the key but get diseased and drop it next to the pile so you don't have to rummage through it repeatedly to get the key.

Also, if you diplomacy the right guy you won't have to fight Harza at the end, and if you diplomacy the kobold and pay 1000 gold after the trap room with the second horn the windlasher will have to fight naked. Getting the map at the beginning by doing the four optionals also makes the bridge fall out so you don't keep hitting the spots that fall and end up in the water.

Do it all right and you can have 30-40 minute runs. ;)

Just so ya know the key for the underwater chest does in fact lie in the cursed treasure pile. You must click on the treasure twice, once will give you cursed poison the second will then give you a gold key which is used to open underwater chest.
The best way that I have found to obtain the chest is to wait until the end after arena fight and if the swimmer has one of those nifty res rings or can UMD a raise dead scroll, have party /death swim through water, res the cleric who can then res the rest of the party. DD after looting chest then finish quest by talking to giant outside arena. Talking to him after looting will ussually ensure nobody takes too big of an xp hit for the /death as the xp and completion are awarded when speaking to giant.
Good luck and thanks for the great maps.

Thanks Peavey. Yah the mystery of the chest is no longer a mystery thanks to Mirta and yourself. Interesting strategy.

MrTreats that is a fantastic idea. It would definately be a challenge to map that in a way that is useful. I accept your challenge! I love that quest too and rarely have a problem...except when I have to go collect my party members from the insanity. :)

Maybe if I didn't fear expulsion by the devs I would hack the data files and produce a 3D map. :D

Actually, if you look at the Pit as 2 spirals connected by a crossover, it's not that bad to map the locations of the rooms. Mapping the paths in the furnaces would be a nightmare.

The first spiral is the one that you first pass in the quest. There is nothing going down on that spiral. Going up is the Security room and the Final room.

The second spiral is just past the crossover (the place where there are 2 of the nasty force traps side-by-side. That's where you can switch spirals.

Going up on the second spiral is the room with the lightning traps (maybe the main breaker room?) and the 1st room you have to complete (at the very top past the acid jets).

Going down is the bilge pump room, the furnaces, and the room that you do right after the lightning one (down at the very bottom).

If I had any talent at map drawing, I'd do it. But I can suggest a layout:

3 piece map:

Piece 1:
The map that is given you (or a similar one that only has the entry level). Label spiral 1 and spiral 2 and which direction on the ramp goes up and which direction goes down. Also label the crossover.

Piece 2:
A linear simplification of spiral 1 that shows the security room and the final room across from each other on the same level, the entry level below that, and an indication that no rooms are below entry level on that spiral.

Piece 3:
A linear simplification of spiral 2 that shows the 2 rooms that are up (to the right on) the spiral (and the acid jet between them). Then, the entry level below that, and then the 3 rooms that go down (to the left on) the spiral.

You could also number the rooms...e.g.

Spiral 1:
(bottom) no rooms---crossover (entry level)---(3) Security Room---bridge---(8) Final Room (top)

Spiral 2:
(bottom) Shrine---(6) Generator Room---(2) (4) (7)Furnaces---Bilge Pumps---crossover (entry level)---(5) Power Breakers---acid jets---(1) First Room (top)

I may be missing something (or remembering something incorrectly)...and all this may make sense only to me. :D But that's the best idea that I have for "mapping" that quest.

Airidil
05-24-2007, 10:36 PM
I have released the Atarazia's Haven Map!

It is missing the rare encounters because I have not found them all yet. I am considering doubling the resolution on all my maps to make them easier to read similar to the Crucible map. This may not be possible for all maps since two are already at the 1MB limit at photobucket.

I am also considering a new labeling technique of numbered circles with a reference on the side. I personally hate this kind of map because I can't read it very quickly and I find it ugly in appearance. It would solve the problem of space and visibility, however. I would like to hear from you if you have any thoughts on this.

Enjoy everyone! I hope to have the rare encounters in a couple days. As always feedback is welcome.

Cheers.

I am also considering a new labeling technique of numbered circles with a reference on the side. I personally hate this kind of map because I can't read it very quickly ..

To be honest, I personally hate maps that force you to shift your view off the map itself due to references/legends :D
The current layout allows me to scan the map continuously. With the reference/legend layout, I would have to check the side of the map each time I happen to forget what a certain number/symbol stands for.

This is of course just a matter of opinion and I will respect whichever decision you make :)
Thanks again for the awesome effort.

As to the unverified map in the desert. I have been to that area many times now and no chest has popped. It's a fight with 4-6 gnoll casters and a nasty whirlwind which easily knocks someone over into the boneyard. It's quite a fight, more difficult than most of the other chests but nothing has popped there. I'll keep looking when I run the desert but as of right now Id say the chest does not exist.

These rock!

I would love one for Sorrowdusk - still missing a few explorer areas and rares, and would love to knock that out before I get too high level...

But if you don't have time, these still rock!

Sorrowdusk is on the way! As well as Tangleroot! As soon as I can find time. My house has an interested buyer so my evenings are often spent fixing up the house.

Thanks for all your support and feedback. Keep it coming!

Oh and when the new encounters come out for the desert map next patch I'll be removing the unverified chest at the north end of the map and updating the style. Even though I'm not the only one who has seen that chest, it doesn't seem to be there anymore. The devs probably thought there were too many chests.

First of all, these are great maps and a huge service to the community. Thanks for putting in the time!

I just wanted to let you know that while exploring Ataraxia's Haven, I found a couple of the named encounters in varying locations. The ones I'm talking about are Kithba and Schenker. Unfortunately, I did not grab the locations of these alternate spawn points.

Schenker (in addition to the location on your map) also spawns down on the beach, southeast of it's marked location on the map.

Kithba sometimes spawns on the beach (near where you have it marked) south-southwest of the marked location.

If I find any other named encounters in alternate locations, I'll try to grab the /loc.

Awesome maps, wish i had seen these before the ones i made for our guild site.

There are 3 rares that are randomly spawned in 2 different locations (Scorpion, Cat and Hyena.) I have images of where the mobs and chest are exaclty if you need verification.

You are more than welcome to check out the maps i had done for our guild. There are also partial maps for surrowdusk and tangleroot their also.

Those are wonderful maps!

I'd like to know if you'd mind us to host your maps. We'll create a map section for you to host them there. Then, we'll link them to other section like the Wilderness Adventure Areas (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Wilderness_Adventure_Area) to allo clearer information We hope that this will give us more visibily and force the people to show us the maps they are hiding! :) It'd allow us to give clearer information and it'd allow you to, at least, remove those ugly photobucket links!

Don't worry, you will still have full control over your maps, we are a wiki, not some corporate entity. One final thing, you have to be willing to release the rights on you maps to the public domain, or under the same CC license as everything else in the wiki. We can't show anything on the wiki that isn't under the CC license, or public domain, this is why there is a warning message on every edit page.

So, what do you think? :)

Why not have both! Keep the thread, but let us host on the wiki. :)

The only thing we'd ask you would be to change the links from photobucket to the wiki, and I thing that a good thing.

Links would go from: http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o11/FireStorm78/RuinsofGiantholdMap.jpg to http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Map_Ruins_of_Gianthold

Sorry for the delays on this seemingly simple map.

Also, shame on you all for letting me get away with mispelling of 'interest' in my maps for all this time. :D When I make another pass to update the styles, I'll fix it.

Do you mean Palunak the Scourer, a salt mephit? If so, he is actually to the south and east of the shrine, and his chest can spawn a bloodstone. Check this thread for even more details. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=115330)

Excellent job on the maps. I can help you with The Pit (already have written a walk-through for it that is posted on my guild's website) if you like. Can even share the guide with you if you aren't on Thelanis so I can walk you through it.

Thanks! Keep up the awesome work!

Hey lost! I'll take anything you have. The more I start with the easier and faster it will be.

I am stalled on Searing Heights at the moment. I am looking for anyone with an at level toon. I think the level range is 3 to 7? All my characters are either too low or two high. My lowbies get creamed in there. So if any of you have a free evening pm me, and I would love the company and protection.

Maybe I should stop playing WoW and Lotro and level my lowbies on DDO. :D Cheers!

Seems like the resoultion on the menectarun map was cut in half, as is the file size.
Also really don't understand or like the "pathing"
How is it "much requested" only 1 post on this thread ask for it.. All it looks like to me is like some kid scribbled down some blue lines all over the place.

Isn't the point of a map to help you find a path? To just draw ones in there seems silly. Its all pretty obvious anyways except maybe the ramp up the ledges leading to the chains of flame.

Airidil
09-30-2007, 03:22 PM
I'm sorry you don't like it Shade. I've restored the resolution so thanks for the heads up there. I have had a lot of requests since I launched the menechtarun desert map in another thread as well as PM's asking for pathing. I thought my nice clean lines would be a nice compromise. I too believe the map speaks for itself and I hate polluting it.

If it really upsets you then I'll post one version of each with out pathing. Would that appease you sir? :) Cheers

It was a direct rip off of your other maps, aside from the icons. Why change what works so well?

I just updated it with the last explorer spot I had forgotten to place on it, so it is now complete.

Well it was all night, but with much help from the community WE DID IT! THe Orchard is online. I'm not saying it's perfect, as I have to personally verify a few locations. You know how much of a perfectionist I am. :D

Please note that several of the rares show in multiple places. The ones I've seen have exact locations based on the chest. Others may be educated guesses based on what JJ showed me. I also don't know if Palmis is in a crypt or not yet.

Please enjoy. It will be some time before I get pathing for this map as I am waiting for a level cap increase to play this area. If I find a resource I'll include it.

On a personal note, I want to thank everyone who has told me in person or in these forums how much these maps mean to them. It really makes this all worth it. On this last map I am humbled by how much the community helped me and supported my efforts. Thanks to all and see you in game soon!

jjflanigan

Just an fyi, apparently they moved the lighthouse exploration point during one of the mods. The point is no longer in front of the lighthouse itself (where you have to go through the mission to get it) but is now on the mainland on the broken bridge that leads to the lighthouse.

Ran with a couple pugs to get the point several months back and they all agreed with your map that the point was supposed to be on the island and was only reachable after doing the mission to get out there. Finally ran the mission sometime after mod4 and the e-point was nowhere to be had on the island. Gave up on it for a while then wandered back last night and hit the e-point when I did a flying WF leap to escape overwhelming numbers. Soon as I stepped on the broken part of the bridge I got the exploration point. (this had not worked the first time I was in AH months ago)

'Fraid that's the only thing I've come across that I could contribute. Everything else has been pretty much spot on. Keep up the great work!

When I was playing around in Ataraxia's on Risia, before release, that's where the exploration point was (on the mainland).

Well, that's what happens when you let the uninformed(me) post freely! 8D

The guys on the two pugs I ran with months back sounded so sure of themselves too. (well, least one guy did, maybe the others just assumed he was right -like I did- due to his confident attitude!)

The point may have been bugged the first time I tried the flying leap across to the lighthouse and ran across it, thus not getting credit for it at that time.

10-23-2007, 05:27 AM
Hey guys. Just to clarify the actual exploration point IS on the mainland, but I thought it looked silly to point to the mainland and call it a lighthouse. I assume most will walk up to the broken bridge and get the exploration point. Sorry for the confusion.

FYI, you can get there without much jump, but you have to start off by running up the slope to the left that look likes it is too steep to scale. Then, with some feather fall you can just float down to the ledges on the left side and make your way to the chest.

Long ago, I remember there being a named there, but I have not seen that named spawn in quite a while. One of my guildies swears there is a named, but that it runs off to the north and east as soon as you approach...

Hello Everyone! As you may or may not have noticed I've been MIA for some time. This is due entirely to the lack of content in DDO. I've been spending my time in another game while I wait for DDO to thrive once again. It used to be every month we had something new to look forward to. Now we're lucky to expect something new every three months or more. I'm not trying to make this my personal soap box for ddo reform. I am simply explaining why I have temporarily left DDO. I love the game and hope we see more of it very soon.

If there is anyone high level on Risia that can show me around the mod 6 content then I will map it. Send me a pm.

Cheers all!

Anyone know where the 10th rare is for Sorrowdusk Isle?
We have found all of the 9 listed on the map, but not the final one.
Is it a spider on the left or a scorp past the tunnell maybe??

**EDIT**
Scratch that, found him, then saw it listed on the map right next to another. sorry about that guys!

Great MAPs BTW, very handy

here are my routes for loot in vale

http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/7595/valepathsui6.jpg

On the little ledge to the left of your "Route 1" map legend, and just to the right of the green line, is a named Hyena (rare). I don't recall the name (I'm at work), but it's the first one I found when I went looking around yesterday. If you alter your Route 2 slightly at the beginning, you can check the location first and drop off the ledge to continue south to the Bat Cave!

EDIT: I made a notation on your map for the location. Hope you don't mind :) http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8043/valepathrev1hp0.jpg

Hi Zyerz. I use Adobe Photoshop CS2. I've developed a template that I use for all the maps that I think works well. I take screenshots of the map without any mapnotes on it, then splice it together in photoshop for the base layer. Now the most important part, IMHO, is applying a levels layer above that to reduce the gamma wash that DDO tends to add when taking a screenshot. It really makes the colors pop. Then of course adding the tags on top.

I might be releasing the template in the future because I don't know if I'm going to be playing much longer and of course I love giving back to the community. :)

I hope this has answered your questions.

Cheers,
Dorim

Vale Map Update

If anyone has a list of the rare names I could use the proper spelling of each. I've personally verified 10 myself, but the sooner I get the names the faster I can get this map up. Plus the supplied map on page 7 is missing one rare...if you can tell me where it is that would help. Cheers.

The bat swarm, like the spider hive, spawns a chest only if you get the subsequent swarms after you've killed the first (persistent) one.

Dorim, thanks for the great maps, and thanks to all that have worked with him to create them.

I have created a table to help people get a quick look at the Adventure Areas and see what's there in terms of XP. I started on this very shortly after they were created. That table, after many, many modifications can be found at:

http://achievebalance.com/ddo/adventureareas.htm

The latest modification, is adding links to Dorim's Maps where the areas are named at the top and at the bottom.

In doing this, and in trying to help people with these areas, I was asked for another bit of information.
People are asking for info on which chest to farm to get the item of their dreams (e.g. Bloodstone). This information could be put onto a table, or a popup window ... or even onto the maps?

What do you guys thing? I am willing to work on it, and to accept feedback on my table. There is a thread that I am using to get info on it, that thread is: An XP Guide to Wilderness Areas (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=114383), no longer maintained by the original poster.

Thanks ... and again, great maps!

What be this tremble at my door? An apprentice map maker and a scholar obsessed by treasure. Hmmm...should I let them in? BUT OF COURSE! They may bring ale with them! You can never be to careful!

Welcome friends! Do'th thou bring ... good tidings?

Come sit by the fire. I would offer thee ale but alas seems there is none in sight.

Swizzle, what an interesting name. Reminds this old dwarf of something sweet for some odd reason. Let me your parchment, that I may look upon it. *Dorim looks a while on the scholars notes* BAH! I cannot think without ale! Where is that Vizzini with my daily shipment? Probably off killing dragons again. Time to dip into my emergency reserves. *Dorim opens a secret door in a nearby wall, revealing 20 large kegs of ale* This ought to hold me until the sun dips its weary head. *With ale in hand, he begins again*.

Swizzle, your notes do well to simplify the information already in the wonderous wiki in the Great Library and I most humbly thank thee for using my maps. I do not recall you in my shoppe purchasing said maps. Perhaps a friend came in your stead No bother! :) We all be friends fighting to save Stormreach. Although, as you can see my ale supply do'th run low. ;) Listen to this old dwarf go on about ale, back to business! I do not think your notes would do well on my maps but I encourage you to continue.

Now Pantos, my good man, so you wish to become a cartographer. My heart is gladened by this. Stormreach needs all the help it can get. *Dorim, takes the map and thinks on the young mans request* It is a great start young apprentice. My advice would be to use a larger pen to scribe your notes, fill in the missing areas such as the 'rogue room' and side passages leading to the shrine. I personally do not post locations of troops on my maps, but I like to indicate where persons of interest have been spoted. It's a personal preference. I would also remove the curious orange triangles and blue dots. What do these symbols represent? Perhaps a legend as well would be best. I find symbols work better than words where possible since we all do not speak the same language. Many a time have I been chased by elves through the streets for such ignorance! Troublesome elves! They have no sense of humor when it comes to us dwarves! No matter.

Now go friends, and do your best. This dwarf grows tired. I hope I have helped you in some way. Peace be with you and all in Stormreach.

*Dorim once again falls asleep in his chair by the fire. His beard soaked with ale and a smile across his face.*

Dorim,

I await to purchase a fine map I know you must be working on ... the one on 3 barrel cove. I have been there, and barely escaped with my life (I did find 4 shrines along the way, but was too drunk to be able to remember anything.) That salty wench is distracting, and the tavern there is pretty good too.

Anyway, I have started my table regarding the adventure areas, and will be working on the list of rares. No, no, you need do nothing there to help me, but you may remember that I like from my table to your maps, and await with the promised keg of ale and bag of coin to pay for it when you are finished.

The table is at: http://achievebalance.com/ddo/adventureareas.htm in case you have misplaced your marker for it.

Friends. If this message makes it to you, then the messenger was successful in avoiding the many perils between where I am now and Stormreach. Alas, I have been trapped on my latest journey to collect information by a nasty pair of dragons. Naturally I would have dispatched them, if only I hadn't lost all my gear in a drunken daze. The good news is that with only my beard flapping in the wind, I have managed to avoid detection for several days while I look for my clothes. Perhaps I should prioritize my weapons higher? No matter...

While I am trapped with my work, please feel free to use my shop until I return. I appologize for delays in the creation of my new maps. They will come.

If I never see the ocean again I will die a happy dwarf. Twelve hours! Twelve hours I spent in Three-Barrel Cove mapping the land. Much of that was swimming. I have found a couple shrines that did not appear on the map provided to me earlier. I have found all but three of the elusive bandits. When I slayed Dybesh Relix I could not find his chest. Very strange. Please let me know if you find it.

Oh and don't bother visiting the Salty Wench Tavern for ale any time soon. I cleaned them out before I left for Stormreach. :D

The bounty is directly below the mark on the map. The entrance is underwater. You'll need underwater action of course. The tunnel twists east, then north and then west, with the last turn being a little tricky to find. Good luck!

As far as I know, Korthos Island is exclusive to Risia at the moment. I have not ventured to that realm yet. I will have to wait until it reaches my realm to map it.

Dunno if anyone's working on a map of Korthos Island but…

1st named I found is an Ice Mephit named Zeer. He's located outside the entrance to The Decrepit Catacombs
The second is Cicic, the Ice Spider, found north of Misery's Peak, on the ice floes a few "levels" down. As far as I've seen, its chest drops bound named loot.

And the third is in the Northeastern lookout point. Vekz Splhur, a Sahuagin.

I've got a blank made of the island, but haven't wanted to bust out too much preview info before it hits live.

The other rare I found was a Sahaugin, Vekz Spluhr on a stone looking out at the ship in the harbor on the Far Est of the map towards the North.

Red lines: Rare encounters
Blue lines: Shrines (both res & rest)
Yellow lines: NPCs (2 are quest givers, 1 is a vendor!)
Green lines: Locations of interest

Please note that #6 is the underground complex (quest entrance) but also is the ventilation shaft in your explorer list.

I want to tell you what a great job you have done with the maps. I run with a group and I printed some in a large format (13" X 19") and they came out very clear.

Thank you for the great job

Dorim's maps are hands down the finest wilderness zone reference. I use them constantly.

Would it be possible to add a line of text with each map description listing the xp spread for each zone? ie. Cerulean Hills: lvls 1-3

I think this would be a nice touch to an already excellent system. Thanks for your hard work. See you in Stormreach!

Alright Articus. You got your wish. I used information found in great tome titled 'DDO Wiki'. You may be able to find it in the Great Repository of Knowledge in Stormwind.

Good Journeys,

After a 14 month hiatus, your maps were just what I needed to refresh my memory of, well, everything. :)
I used your maps previously, and seeing them now, with the updates, shows how much work goes into them.
Keep up the good work sir!

Any plans on doing Reavers Refuge and the four outdoor areas attached to it?

I am considering retirement from cartography and indeed adventuring as well. I have been unwilling to spend the time necessary to complete the subterrane maps and have fallen out of touch with the community. It would seem my interests have taken me elsewhere. I have not yet made my decision, but if I do retire I will release my template to the commuinity.

T'is a pity. And at the cusp of new material. If I was better at it, understood it better I would try to assist someone. But, like you I have very little precious time to devote to it. Let us hope it is only a hiatus, I for one have thoroughly enjoyed your work and have in my document folder copies of most of the work in this thread.
It has proved invaluable on occasion.
Good luck. Hopefully you can maintain contact, if you feel it.

Vizzini has gone and got himself completely lost with his companions somewhere in Mt. Reyslon and needs an expert mapmaker to show him the way out!

There could be beer in reward for release from this damn fiery mountain, kegs and kegs of beer if there are maps of the whole Reavers Refuge area's.

It is with some sadness that I am retiring from cartography for now. Clearly I am not useful to the community having been gone for so long. I am grateful that my maps have been useful to so many. They have inspired many people to become mapmakers themselves which is a great legacy to leave. I stayed for the friendships and I will see you all again.

Been a lot of threads asking about Korthos locations.

Was gonna nab my old map out from several pages back and work on it, but LostInJapan has done a bang-up job already.

Credit to LostInJapan, but relinked here for ease of finding it:

Three Barrel Cove map needs an update. With the latest module release the one explorable os the Slaty Wench Tavern is no long an explorable and has had a new one take its place called Bucanner's Walkway. If I find it I will edit my post and give an approximation where it appears on the map.

Okay so I located the final explorer location that was changed in the Three Barrel Cove area. It is called the Buccaner's Walkway and it is located close to the Salty wench Tavern. To get it you need to go near Marrion Tattershall who has the orge standing behind him. Go to the right of him and you will see a set of blocks you can jump up that has 4 NPC's up top. When you get to the top of that you will have found it.
