Group is currently full.

Just as the title says, I Was looking to put together a 6 person group that can meet and quest one or two times a week. Some guidelines I would like to follow are the following:

We take our time doing dungeons. No rushing through and leaving places unexplored. I'm here to scour all dungeons and find everything that a quest has to offer.
Doing the quest by area and level. This means doing doing all the quests available in the harbor before moving on to the market, then doing the market quests or go back and do the previous quests on harder difficulties.
Refrain from using the AH for buying stuff. Selling on the AH would prolly be fine if we found some awesome loot but other than that try and stick to the Merchants and Brokers.
Help the group. Don't hesitate to give up stuff that can be better used by someone else in the group.
No hand-me downs from any of your existing characters. In a perfect situation we would play on a server that no one in the group has a character on but that might not be entirely possible.

These are not terms and conditions but guidelines to try and create a more PnP D&D feel.

The current group of adventurers that have answered Korhime's call are:

Korhime Kakita (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/korhime/) - Wizard (Level 16)
Gordan Arrow (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/gordan) - Artificer (Level 15)
Nomar Energia (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/nomar) - Barbarian (Level 16)
Verlan (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/verlan) - Monk (Level 16)
Jherdon (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/jherdon) - Bard (Level 16)
Pyrethria (http://my.ddo.com/character/sarlona/pyrethria) - Favored Soul (Level 16)

Front Row (Left -> Right): Jherdon, Korhime, Gordan

We have a group that has just started playing regularly on Monday nights from about 7:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. EST. Thus far we are only 3rd level, but have completed all of the Harbor quests as of last night. We had a four-man group (no cleric), but our rogue has been missing for the last two weeks. We've got a Warforged Barbarian, a Ranger, and myself the Wizard. We like to take our time. As proof, we have yet to experience a death.:D Our rules are exactly as you have stated yours. If you'd like to join us then just let me know. We play on Sarlona and if you'd like some help leveling up then let me know that as well and we might be able to squeeze some time in on a Thursday to help you get to 3rd without doing any grinding (i.e. doing the quests we've run). I figure that we should be up to about 5th or 6th level by the time the "Anniversary Weekend" rolls around for us to get some extra nice loot. Right now we only do Mondays though, as I'm in my next-to-last semester in school and I'm taking a lovely 5 classes right now.:( Of course, we've been having so much fun that a second night might be able to be opened up. Let me know.

Isn't there anyone left to for a regular group with or have they already formed their groups?

I would be willing to join a regular group. I am in the Mountain time zone so that might be difficult, but doable. Keep me posted?

I was planning on starting between 9 - 10pm EST (7 - 8pm MST) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I work thirds (11pm - 7am) so I'm used to staying up later.

Great! Which server are you playing on or planning to play on? Do we have anyone else that is willing to play? When do you want to start, etc?

No idea yet which server we will be playing on. I'm fine with any server just as long as hand-me downs from existing characters don't exist.

Do we have anyone else that is willing to play?
not yet

When do you want to start, etc?
I would say as soon as possible once we get at least 2-4 more people.

Questions answered above.

I'm not sure I understand your post, are you looking to join up with a new character who will be a WF caster with some melee or that you want to help out the once it get going?

As for an up date.

I have decided to align this group with the dedicated teams guild. As such this means we will be playing on the Sarlona server. I still have openings for up to 4 more people, unless steelblade is joining then I have 3 spots open. We will be starting just after completing the solo only quests in the harbor. The day and time for this group is going to be on Monday starting between 9pm and 10 pm and running for a few quests.

Been looking for a steady group for a while now such a pain in mountain time zone everyone else starts before i get off work. 7pm mountain time is perfect for me so is the server. I like playing rangers so that is what I would like to do, can play any class needed though.

PM me with the starting date I will finish the goodblade quests as soon as I know which class you will want.

Starting date will be the first Monday once we get the group filled up. I was figuring that we could create our characters and run the wavecrest's quests, Explosive situation, Home Sweet Sewer, Millers goods, and A matter of protection on our own and start with goodblade's quests as a group. As far as classes go I really don't care what class everyone is to start with. I think we all should choose the class we want to play and as we go mold our characters to support the others and if needed start multiclassing to fill in holes that develop.

I would love to play with this type of group. I have a couple of friends that play once per week on Sarlona server on Thursday nights as a campaign. Please email me the particulars and maybe we can hook up. We are adults and are serious about our game-time and I especially look forward to my Thursday night (Pacific time we play at 8:30 to 9:00pm) game play. Please advise. Please send email to rbovard@yahoo.com. Thanks! My name is Bob.

That's all, I have no desire to join up (as I'm already in that guild ,lol)

Three comrades, in a large open courtyard, are speaking quietly while they await their Dwarven friend...

Theft, "Have either of you seen Bangilor this eve?"
Bogy shakes his head no and then peers off into the distance. Suddenly a sewer grate screeches open and a team of adventurers climb out. Most quickly head down to the lower Harbor and a few covered with filth seemingly melt away into the byways of Stormreach.
Theft, "Was that Korihime?"
Shalia, "Must be a capable group to have come out of there relatively unscathed, was that not the Butcher's Path?"
Bogy laughs, "The Boss and I cleared that sewer months ago, I'm sure the only thing back down there might have been a small spider."
Theft raises an eyebrow..., "Things do not seem to be quite that simple here in Stormreach."

This is just a shout out to everyone in our group. We did awsome for a first session, even if our cleric was unavalible. I thought that we worked very well together, and if we all wanted to we could just have me heal when we are out of battle. But because I must fight i cannot heal in combat so we will have to stock up on potions. If anyone has any other thoughts just post em. Anyway can't wait till monday. Laters.

Gordan Arrow- lvl2 Ranger (sarlona)

We have started Questing and we be having our third session next Monday starting at 9pm Eastern. I'll try and get a website setup to keep track of our progress.

The current group of adventurers that have answered Korihime's call are:

Korihime Kakita - Rogue (Level 3)
Gordan Arrow - Ranger (Level 3)
Arano ???? - Wizard (Can't remember their last name) (Level 3)
Sinistrad ???? - Wizard (Can't remember their last name) (Level 3)
Umberto ???? - Cleric (Can't remember their last name) (Level 2)

We are in need of a tank type at the moment so if you are interested in questing with a regular group on Mondays starting at 9 pm Eastern time send me a PM and I'll send you the list of quests you need to catch up.

Sorry for the short notice but I was thinking that maybe we could have a special session tonight on Sarlona in hopes of getting chosen for Trade or No Trade. If you are up for it send me a PM. I'll check here again around 4pm EST to see who will be there. Also we have only 5 members right now so if anyone knows someone looking for a dedicated group we could use a fighter. Also mcg,
If you could play the cleric Umberto that would help out a lot. Hope to see you guys tonight.

We're still looking for a sixth. I think any class other than a rogue or a Arcane (Soc/Wiz) would be a good addition and will be welcome. We're only level 3 at the moment so catching up would be fairly easy since all you would have to do is complete all but about 4 of the harbor quests. If your interested just post here or send me a PM.

Spot open int the group. We could use a Cleric or a healing Bard. A cleric would prolly be ideal as we could use someone with a high wisdom.

Had a great time Monday night... Glad to have you on board Tpaul! See everyone next Monday!

Korihime can u update (as close as you can) where we are at? Such as all our names in the group and levels just to catch everyone up. I think our last market place quest, we all did, was swiped Sig? we've kinda been catchin people up the last couple weeks. Thanks

Nomar Engergia - Cleric 3 / Paladin 1

We have two spots open right now. We've had our Wizard and Paladin go MIA on use so we would like to fill in the group with these types, an arcane caster and a tank type. We are at about level 4.1 right now and we are taking next week off, also one of our rangers and cleric need to catch up a little so you could run some stuff with them to catch up. We play Monday's starting at 9pm so if you are interested send me a PM and we'll try and set some stuff up.

Hi,
I am "Shames" on the Argonesson server and am NEW to playing D&D. I have a hearing impairment that makes voice chat hard (sometimes impossible) so need patient team member to lead me by the hand.
I am Paladin/Fighter Lvl 3 and kinda don't know what I am doing.
I would be gratefull for a party that would help my understanding of D&D

Hey guys,

I updated the completed quest list for the group. Since I wasn't here from the beginning, I don't know for sure if I have all of the quests the group has officially done, so if you look it over and notice something missing, let me know.

Specifically, I only have a single quest run on anything other than Normal (Dirks, run on Hard). I thought you guys had mentioned a few run on Hard, but I don't know which they are.

If you don't already know, the list is here:

http://www.rjcyberware.com/DDO/Dedicated.phtml

I don't know about y'all, but I like to have an offline list around to refer to when I can't log into the game, heh. If it helps ya, then great. If not, then just ignore it :) Do you guys realize we've finished all but 2 of the level 4 quests?

Thanks for the runs last night. +2 Khopesh, yeah baby!! See you guys this weekend.

Hi, I was just reading this over and it sounds like something I'd be interested in, and the time is right for me as 9pm est my kids are definitely in bed so there wont be so many afk's lol. I dont use forums too much, so ill try to keep an eye out here or if someone can message me on the Ghallanda server my toons there are Strysis, Dysalia, Tylzania, or Mareck. I didnt see anywhere what server you are using, only were some ppl had their toons now.
If you happen to be using that server, Mareck is my lvl 2 drow ranger, so that might work for the group.

Thanks!

Hey Dozen,

Glad to have ya aboard. I know we can use a caster, all our casters seem to vanish..lol. we do have a rogue that has level of caster though. But play what you feel comfortable with. We have a good group of people and are very flexible. Again Welcome.

Alrighty, a friend is helping me roll up a sorcerer then as I havent played one in a while, Ill definitely be seeing everything with "new" eyes this time lol ;)

Cool, welcome aboard!

The quest list should be more or less accurate, minus what we did this weekend. Which brings up a good question for the group:

Were the quests we ran Saturday "official"? Should I add them to the list (Dirk's Elite and Irestone).

What did y'all run on Sunday?

BTW, sorry I couldn't be there on Sunday. Three nights in a row would have brought on too much wife-agro. If I had been thinking on Saturday, I would have said I probably couldn't make Sunday :)

But I will see you guy tonight.

tcmexman
06-18-2007, 02:13 PM
Sunday we ran Kobold Assault on Normal; Durk's again on Elite and got Muck! :-) 3 out of 4 of us did at least. Kor, Gordan, and Myself (Nomar) did level to 5 also.

Hey all! This sounds like something i would not only enjoy but look forward to on a weekly basis... maybe even twice a week. If you have room for another, I will roll one up and be there tonite. (not positive the time EST though) It will take a little doing but i believe i could catch up enough to run with the group by next week. I am most experienced at running tanks but definately like the prospects of running a class i am less familiar with. Bard, Rogue or Paladin would be my primary interests but I am open to running any of the classes. Please let me know if you have space for another and what type of character would best help the party out. Thanks!

Ron
06-18-2007, 07:07 PM
relik,

I'm pretty sure Roses just got the last open spot. But spots open up from time to time, so it might not be a bad idea to go ahead and roll, and get caught up with the quests from the group quest list. That way, when our next open spot comes up, you'll be all ready :)

06-19-2007, 07:01 AM
Hey guys,

Had a great time last night...went around cerulean hills after and leveled to 3. I was tired last night, so just want to clarify.....shall I take this week to level her up to 5 on my own? I know the toon is a static group only character, but I'm pretty sure you want her to be at the same level. Let me know as I get home in the early afternoon from work and can start working on her then if that is the case.

Thanks,
Dozen

Ron
06-19-2007, 09:22 AM
Aye, you're allowed to catch up. I myself did the same thing, having just joined the group a few weeks ago. In fact, I still need to run catacombs at some point :)

Last night was fun. I think I might have finally gotten my fourth inventory slot. Forgot to look to be sure, but I was only about 10 points away from getting it before last night.

tcmexman
06-19-2007, 09:54 AM

06-19-2007, 01:22 PM
Yea if there are quests that we have done that you haven't go ahead and do them.

Also sorry bout last night guys but Charter was being truly Sh*tty, Sh*tty, Sh*tty. The problem shouldn't continue but if it does charter shall be getting a new ******** soon.

If you guys want to run Catacombs on Friday, that would be okay with me :)

06-19-2007, 06:53 PM
Catacombs on Friday works for me :) Whats a good time for everyone? I Think Verlan needs to run it too. I will get ahold of him. I'll be on through out the week and weekend. Ron whats the name of your Barbarian? I will be on as Arano if not Nomar. That was my Toon from the start till i switched to the cleric. He's a 4th level Wizard.

The usual Bat-Time would be good for me, although I can be flexible (even more so if we decide to go on the weekend).

So four out of six of us haven't yet run Catacombs? Are we *sure* this was officially run with the group? How is it only two of us ended up running it?

My barbarian is Rhaagh. I tend to RP him (it's very easy for me to "get into character" with a barbarian, lol).

tcmexman
06-19-2007, 10:05 PM
Yeah...lol.The short of it..... Kor, Gordan, and Myself (Arano) are from the begining, I switched to Nomar because we had 2 wizzy's and no cleric then we lost a few people. Verlan joined around the time Nomar showed up, and the rest is History ;)

Friday 9pm is good for me too. Verlan said maybe, He has RL work till later that night, not sure what time exactly.

Dozen_Black_Roses
06-20-2007, 07:14 AM
9 pm would be a great time for me. I actually have only done that quest one time, as no one ever seems to want to run it. I ran it with my cleric and enjoyed being able to turn everything lol, so it will be neat from a caster's perspective.

I will be on again today at least for a bit. Yesterday I was on Sarlona from about 3pm to 530pm or so, did a few quests, took a dinner break and came back to no action to be found group wise, so I went back to Ghallanda to chat. Of course one thing led to another and I was in House J until past midnite, lol got my rogue there to 9 ;)

Edit: I completely forgot that I had signed up 2 weeks ago with my guild on Ghallanda to do the dragon raid, which will be my first time. If possible, can we reschedule for another nite this weekend? I will be available any other nite :) My apologies.....Pyre is 23k from lvl 5 fyi ;)

06-22-2007, 01:38 PM
so whats everyone think about re-running Catacombs with the whole group? 4 out of 6 of us have not run it yet and the more the merrier :) maybe we could even do it on an off night like Sat. night or Sunday.

Ron
06-22-2007, 04:03 PM
Yeah, whatever we decide is cool. Just let me know. I'm likely to be on Sarlona this weekend with either Rhaagh or Zerina, or possibly a new PD barbarian I haven't yet created (I'll let you know his name if so). Just message me if we decide to get something together and you see me on.

I want to start by saying welcome to our Newest member, Dozen. Nomar has finally badgered me enough to get in here and get set up and start posting. Verlan (and I) will be there for a Catacomb run tonight or Sunday. As you can see by my Aragossen toons i am partial to the WF (they are harder to kill and don't need to breath) since i am not the best as of yet with this game. I am taking well to the Tank role (and with the amount of times i died last week it seems that i am about as smart as one). Well this was just a hello so talk to you all at the Rusty Nail...

this weekend should be fine with me just once we get a date/time set, let me know on yahoo so I can "reserve" the time, otherwise Ill wind up in one of my guild groups and those go on for hours and I may forget to switch over. I know on July 7th I signed up to do the reaver raid, so that date is out.

06-28-2007, 08:39 AM
Guys, if you are going to run any of the Necropolis dungeons, I think there is someone you need to talk to before you start in order to get the best reward at the end. Something about getting an item, then upgrading it once you've finished the four. Apparently it becomes a pretty amazing item!

I'm not sure if it's the first series or possibly the second, but it's something to look into. Probably you know about it already, but I know I didn't know anything about it when we ran them with the other group. I will try to research the exact steps today, but I might not have time.

You would be talking about the trinket from either the silver flame or the other faction in the necropolis.

I don't think we'll be meeting over the weekend but our usual time on Monday. Both me and Gordan wouldn't be able to make it this week end so we'll just meet on Monday.

Good news guys, I think I will be able to play on Monday night after all. It turns out the connection here is quite good. I'm on my laptop, and I have all the graphics settings turned ALL the way down, so the game looks awful, heh, but it works (just tried it out). I won't have a mic, but I should be able to hear y'all. So, I will see you guys Monday night.

My apologies to the group last night, I believe I typed in party chat what happened, as I don't like speaking of private matters in an open forum such as here. All I can say is it went on for hours. Needless to say, it is nothing I could control or say hey can we reschedule this? :P See everyone next week, I will find a group during the week to finish up the quest with. Please post if you did another quest after so I can get that done as well. Thanks!

Edit: If anyone would like to run the parts of the quest, (that you did last night), with me maybe Sunday night about 8pm est, please post here, otherwise if I dont hear by lets say Friday, I will go ahead with non-guildies and get the parts done that I need. So please post yea or nea :) Thank you!!!

No worries, sometimes stuff happens.

We didn't do much, actually. We finished the quest you came in on (Doom of the Witchdoctor: The Way to Zulkash) and the connected second part of it (Doom of the Witchdoctor: Zulkash, Herald of Woe). We didn't go on to finish the series (there's two more quests after those to finish off Tangleroot), since by that point it was getting late.

With just the four of us (and given that they are technically a level above us) it took us quite a while to do just those two, and we had a party wipe in there :)

I'd be happy to run them with you, though we'd need more people than just us. Given that neither you nor Gordan has run them, perhaps we can just do those two (and the final two) when all six of us are there? I dunno, whatever everyone else wants to do is fine with me :)

The Collectable Report

Well, I went around to all the collectors and turned in our collection of collectables. I had to sell off a few things in order to get my pack/bank space down to where I was no longer overflowing, but I only sold the stuff I didn't think would be of any use to us, and only as much as I had to. I'm sure we'll want to sell of more of this stuff, but I didn't want to make such decisions unilaterally. So anyway, this is what we got from the collectors:

Gold from selling low level stuff: 1391 gp

Weapons
+1 Battleaxe of Lesser Giant Bane

Armor
+2 Chain Shirt

Robes
Lesser Acid Guard Robe of Lesser Cold Resistance

Ammo
+1 Arrows of Elemental Bane (20)
+1 Arrows of Dwarf Bane (20)
+2 Shock Arrows (20)
+1 Arrows of Human Bane (20)
+1 Acid Arrows (20)
+2 Arrows (40)
+1 Arrows of Animal Bane (20)

Jewlery/Goggles/Rings
Goggles of Minute Seeing (+1 Search)
Ring of Disabling (+3 DD)

Potions
4 Arrowmint Leaves (Eagle's Splendor)
Crimson Nightshade Infusion (Remove Curse)
2 Cryptmoss Infusions (Bear's Endurance)
2 Cryptmoss Silk Sutures (Cure Moderate Wounds)
Feverblanch Salve (Remove Disease)
3 Lily Extracts (Cure Moderate Wounds)
9 Oils of Serious Repair
2 Potions of Bear's Endurance
Potion of Bull's Strength
2 Potions of Cure Light Wounds
2 Potions of Cure Moderate Wounds
5 Potions of Cure Serious Wounds
2 Potions of Eagle's Splendor
2 Potions of Fox's Cunning
Potion of Invisibility
2 Potions of Jumping
Potion of Protection from cold
7 Potions of Protection from evil
Potion of Rage
Potion of Resist Acid
3 Potions of Resist Electricity
Potion of Resist Sonic
Potion of Shield of Faith
Potion of Shield of Faith (+3)
4 Spicy Fungal Gumbo (Bull's Strength)
5 Spore Saps (Cure Serious Wounds)
3 Woodblossom Meads (Remove Blindness)

Wands
Wand of Bulls Strength (21)
Wand of Cure Serious Wounds (36)
Wand of Dispel Magic (32)
Wand of Fireball (25)
Wand of Magic Missle (29)
Wand of Melf's Acid Arrow (28)
Wand of Shocking Grasp (19)
Wand of Slow (24)
Wand of Web (28)

Scrolls
Bear's Endurance
Blindness
Bull's Strength
2 Command Undead
Find Traps
Fireball
Flame Arrow
Flame Sphere
Haste
2 Hold Person
Protection From Energy (Fire)
Remove Disease
2 Scorching Ray
2 Stinking Cloud
Water Breathing

I know we want to keep everything :) But I cannot hold all of it, I have like 3 open inventory slots and no open bank slots, so we will need to figure out how to distribute all this stuff and sell off all the rest.

BTW, if we want to do this on a semi-regular basis (like once a month?) I don't mind doing it. I'm used to running around to all the collectors with my solo character anyway, so it's no big deal to me. Let me know.

BTW2, with my level up on Monday I got +2 strength (Fighter Strength I and Human Adaptability Strength I) plus I went from a +1 Khopesh to a +5 Khopesh with that find at the broker, not to mention the +1 to my BAB from the level up. All together that means I just added 6 ticks to my ToHit in the space of about 10 minutes. Cue evil laughter. I look forward to next week when I should be hitting things a LOT more than I used to! Verlan, I MAY be able to keep up with your kill count next week :D

Hmm well is there a time we can all get on before monday nite and roll for things we want or maybe just post a wish list and then from there see if there is a need for any roll offs? I know some of the scrolls and wands I dont find useful, as the time they last is soooo short lived (e.g. blur), vs. actually casting the spell. Where as some of them are useful, (e.g. acid arrow, magic missile,etc.). Id hate to wait for Monday to do this as even if we get on early its still bound to eat into the amount of time we have for quests. It was nice last week to get started a bit early and get several things done, even if we did have a wipe out to start with. :P

Aye, that's bascially why I posted the list, so we could decide beforehand what goes to whom and not take up valuable questing time on game night. Obviously the oils should go to Verlan, and the healing wands to Nomar, the arcane wands to Pyre, and the Goggle and Ring to Kor (if they help him). Otherwise, I think everything is pretty much up for grabs.

I suggest everyone just post a list of what they want, and if there are any conflicts, we'll sort them out on Monday. Anything not claimed will go to the venders.

As for me, I'd like to keep some of the arrows (maybe 40 or so, although I will give them up if Gordan needs the whole lot), 4 or 5 of the cure serious wound potions, a few of the bears endurance/bulls strength potions, maybe a few of the resist/protection potions. I think as a group we ought to hang onto the cure blindness/curse/disease potions. If no one else wants to cart them around, I will.

Okay, so here is what I've got so far. I made a few decisions, passing around some of the potions (I tried to give our front-line fighters the heavy cure potions, but gave out some to everyone). Okay, loot list updated :) Any other requests?

I went ahead and resynched the quest list (http://www.rjcyberware.com/DDO/Dedicated.phtml) to match my own character's in-game list. I did this because it's just easier for me to make sure it's right if the total favor value from in-game matches the total favor value on the quest list. That's my way of checking to make sure everything is input correctly, and if they don't match, I have a real hard time with it. I found a few mistakes in there when I synched them up. So now it should be right.

This means there may be a few low level quests that have been done by the group that are not accounted for on the list (quests you guys did before I joined level 2-3 stuff). I figure eventually they will match back up as we go back and do the lower level stuff for favor (we ARE going to 1750, right? :D ).

Guys,

I have to deeply apologize for missing last night, I honesly absolutely forgot it was Monday yesterday. I think I was just thinking it was Sunday in my head. Last night I was online and I got a yahoo from Thor, and it hit me like a brick when he told me that I had missed group! I am soooo sorry, I dont know how I did that. If I was blonde, Id blame it on that but Im not, so it's just my scatter brained ways at times.

Sorry again :(

That's ok, I myself almost forgot until I got home from camping. We didn't do much except for finish up tangleroot so if you want to see if there are other level 6's in the guild willing to run it go ahead or we could all try and log on about an hour early and re-run the last quest in tangle root we could.

Unfortunately, it is hard for me to get on an hour early that day.. I will try but it is the timing of the kids bedtimes and I have a class, so I dont walk in the door until ~730 est. TC and Thor have my yahoo messenger (it is here in my profile), if you want to add me, might be easiest way to reach me. I would very much appreciate the help, I will see what i can do over the weekend if nothing else. It is a popular quest so perhaps I can find a party on sunday.

Hey guys, I've been thinking some and I think it's time for a change.

Now that we're at level 6 there doesn't seem to be much that can stop us outright. With Gordan's maces, Jherdon's Kopesh, Verlan's (almost) indestructible body, Pyrethria's focused arcane destruction, Nomar's band-aids and sound bursts, and my own trap disarming as well as adding a little more hurt to those who ignore me there hasn't been a challenge we can't over come and I genuinely have a good time questing on during our meeting times. However since we are getting higher in the levels the quests seem to be getting longer as well and it seems we can only get about on or two quests done a night. So to facilitate my need for good questing and to work with a well organized group of people I propose the following change, how would everyone feel about meeting 2 times a week. The other day I thought we could add is Friday at the same time as Monday (9pm EST). If everyone agrees with this we could start doing this in the beginning of October. Let me know what you think as soon as possible. See you all on Monday.

Yeah, I've noticed as well that we've become an unstoppable force, heh. It's so very cool to quest with you guys as a well organized team where everyone works together, especially after some of the very questionable PUGs I've been in recently :)

Anyway, yeah, I've been a little worried about our slow progress lately. Well, worried is not the right word, but you know what I mean. We did one new quest last monday, yipes!

So I'd be good to add another night. Fridays seems ideal, if everyone could make it. Less worries about you East-Coasters having to get up in the morning for work :) Maybe we could stay on a bit later.

I read this yesterday and didn't want to immediately reply without thinking about it. I do not want to regularly have our group two days per week. I do have another dedicated group on tuesday nights. I also am not the most schedule bound person, and enjoy the freedom on my other nights to do other things. I also dont want to have hub aggro, as we need our couple time together as well. :P

A compromise I can offer is every other Friday night to do a second game night. At the same time, if the group as a whole does want to do the Friday night thing on a regular basis, then I am more than willing to continue to help out until you can get a replacement. Guess that's all for now.

Sometimes I open my mouth (and type with fingers) before I think…lol

After careful reconsideration (talked with better-half :) ) One night a week works out better for me also.
I was talking too with Verlan a bit and he had a good idea. Maybe Mondays we could take a vote, and if everyone is able to play on a “said Friday” we could meet up. That way it’s not set in stone for every Friday or every other. Who knows we might play 2-3 Friday’s in a row at some point and time. :p

Just some food for thought…See everyone tomorrow night! Oh and is it about time for another Jherdan Collectable run. I still have a full bank of Items :D

Just wanted to post here, Nomar and Theft (our Guild leader) helped me level monday night, we completed stealthy repo and Durk's (no, no muck dropped :( ). So now the whole party should be level 7. I know others in the party were trying tohelp but due to the lvl diff, it killed the xp so I wouldnt have been able to level. Thanks again to Nomar and Theft :) See everyone on Monday.

Ron
10-18-2007, 04:36 PM
Awesome, congrats Pyre. Ain't no stopping us now! :)

I'm just going to throw a suggestion out there, feel free to shoot it down. What do you guys think of calling the level 1-3 quests as open quests? Meaning we can do them if we are missing them at normal level? I know I have several that I am missing, and at this point I think the XP would be negligible (and not really worth the party's time during group night). What I'm really after is the favor.

Dozen_Black_Roses
10-18-2007, 09:04 PM
well Id add to it if anything...what about any of the quests from the level below us on down we can do without the party on whatever ranking? Like we are now level 7 group, so if folks need to or want to get xp/favor u can go back and complete any of the level 6 and under quests on hard or elite. how does that sound? or have I gone too far :P

Ron
10-19-2007, 08:00 AM
Hmmm, dunno about that :) I agree that chances are pretty low we're going to be going back to them, as we have bigger and better challenges ahead. My only concern is that level 4-6 quest will still give our level 7 characters some half decent XP, and that could desynch us even worse than we already are.

I was thinking the 1-3 quests will give very negligible XP at this point, so it wouldn't really throw us off so much. If we're putting it to a vote, I'd say hold off on making old quests open until they give very little XP (or even none at all). What is the cutoff point for getting 0 XP? I know I ran a level 2 quest with a level 9 character the other day (for the favor, it was Stealthy Reposession) and that was 0, so a quest 7 levels below the character is a 0 XP quest.

shimiha_kakita
10-19-2007, 03:49 PM
II beleive the cut off is 5 levels higher than the quest level. So a level 2 quest on elite is a level 4 quest so you would have to be level 9 to get no xp.

Ron
10-19-2007, 04:48 PM
II beleive the cut off is 5 levels higher than the quest level. So a level 2 quest on elite is a level 4 quest so you would have to be level 9 to get no xp.

It can't be 5. I was level 7 when I walked into Smuggler's Warehouse (level 2) last Monday night. It cut the XP down, but it wasn't 0 (unless it was opened on Hard? I didn't think to check what difficulty it was set on).

It must be 5 is the most you can be above quest level and still get XP. 6 levels above and you get 0. That would seem to make sense to me, since Smuggler's Warehouse was about 300 XP when I went in there, heh. Can't get much lower than that I would think.

So, presuming it is 6 levels for 0 XP, that means we could only do level 1 quests on normal for 0 XP at this point. We'd have to wait to level 8 to do level 1 quests on normal/hard and level 2 quests on normal. If that's the way we wanted to go.

So is there any consensus on opening up low level quests for favor for those that want it? I certainly wouldn't want to waste our group time doing Goodblades on Hard or Elite, heh, but I also don't want to do quests unauthorizedly (is that a word?) either. But at some point I would like to get that favor. I want my 1750 +2 tome, dammit :D

ok so why not up to level 4 quests? I understand the quests close to our level, it would give us too much xp and we would be out of sync with one another. But if we are running even lvl 3 quests the xp would be minimal at best. Most times you see people doing favour runs, there are ppl in the groups up to lvl 14, and then you would get no xp at all.

But if we are running even lvl 3 quests the xp would be minimal at best. Most times you see people doing favour runs, there are ppl in the groups up to lvl 14, and then you would get no xp at all.

Rats, we totally forgot to talk about this on Monday, didn't we?

As to what the level cutoff should be, it's all a matter of degrees. Is a quest that is three levels below us going to be trivial enough XP not to affect our relative levels? Probably so.

To be honest, I'm increasingly of the opinion that the cutoff should be 6 levels below (the point at which you recieve 0 XP). And here is why:

1) Prevents confusion. If a quest give >0 XP it's easy to tell you shouldn't be doing it without the group.
2) I don't know about anyone else, but I wasn't thinking on taking my charcter in with anyone else. I was more thinking on soloing the low stuff (and/or doing it with a subset of you guys on an off-night). Now even the hardest quest can be done when you are 6 levels above it pretty easily solo (I soloed Proof is in the Poison with a level 9 character without too much trouble about a week ago, which was a 5 level difference, and if you can solo PiitP, you can solo pretty much anything). Basically, it should just be a stroll through the dungeon (if it's not you should be doing it with the group).
3) A favor quest should be just that, for favor. It should have no possibility of giving XP or useful loot. Otherwise, again you should be doing it with the group.

Well, that's my thinking. Feel free to discuss :) Maybe we ought to try to remember to talk about this next week.

I'm ok with the level 1-3 quest range, but that means adjusted quest levels from upping the difficulty. So we could run a lvl 1 on elite, but a lvl2 on hard. We should really talk about this on Mon. There is one low level quest I would like us to do as a group though, Stealth Repo on elite. kor could solo it while he was invisible all we would have to do is wait.

Hey guys,

Here is the video of JJ doing the third furnace room in the Pit solo. Pretty impressive. I guess it's all a matter of knowing where you are going. It's hard to make out because of the low res, but he's showing his jump skill at the beginning, which is in the single digits (I can't quite tell what it is).

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aDfYRBas8nA

So it can be done. Not that I'd want to try it, heh. Nice work everyone last night, even if it did take all six of us :)

Kor, I'll send you those databases tonight.

Ok folks here's the plan, well my plan anyways. Since we have been wanting to stay around our class level for quest level and this last monday we passed that. So my plan for this monday is to run all of the lower level quests that anyone hasn't done yet on higher difficulty. That way we can get quest completion and favor. I believe that we should pick one character and do all of the quests they are missing and then swicth to another, my vote for the first person is Pyre, because she has the least exp, so she prolly has the most missing quests. Then after we have all of her's done we switch to another character and so on till we all have every quest below 7th level done. Ok guys hit me with your thoughts.

Seems like a good plan, since we're out of level 7 quests to run. That sort of thing could take a while though. Just running the catacombs on Hard then Elite would be at least a nights work (and we'd not get a whole lot of XP for em), then factor in all the other quests we haven't done. How far do we go with it? Until we hit level 8?

Kor if you can drop me an e-mail, thor64@excite.com (so i will have your e-mail) i have a few tech questions about some upgrading i want to do with my wifes system. I have a P.H. store meeting Monday night at 9 pm so i will be awol this week. Right now Sunday evenings and Monday's are my only consistant playing time so I will catch up next week. I just typed a really long very thought out post and got booted before i could post it argh.....

here is a quick redo on the important parts:
1) if we can start (and i mean start playing) at 8 pm then i can play about an hour and maybe even come back about an 10ish and play some more.
2) like the idea of spending a few weeks getting everyone caught up on the lower quests.
3) i want the whole group to do stealthy together from normal to elite, boom, boom boom so we can have the favor, Verlan hates that quest
4) i would like for us to decide where the favoring without the group starts, because i too would like to get to 1750.
5) finally in regards to an occasional friday game, let's bring a particular night up in group and then post with in say 48 hours if we can get there, if 4 or more can than it is a go.

i hate typing and losing it!!!!!

I wouldn't mind doing all the lowbie quests with the group for favor. I just don't want us all to burn out on them, which is why I suggested opening the really low ones up for doing them without the group. That way those that want the favor points can get them whenever without us takng up our valuable playing time (which after all is only three hours a week).

But if everyone wants to spend a night doing the lowbie stuff, that would be great too. I would suggest if we are going to do them as a group we keep it to every once in a while. I'm thinking that if we try to go through elite on every quest in the game through level 7, it will take us as long as we've already been playing to finish, and during that time we don't get to do anything new and exciting, which could lead to burnout.

On a different note, I soloed the Pit today with a level 11 uber-twinked character. Had two deaths (dang trog casters), and the final battle was a very close call. But I managed it. Ever since I saw JJs video I was determined I was going to solo that quest. Took me three hours, heh. No way would I try that with a level 7 character, or even a level 11 without some great equipment :)

grats on soloing the pit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thor6478
11-11-2007, 03:03 PM
yes, kudos Ron on the Pit solo mission. I aslo agree, i do not want to spend a whole lot of time doing every quest to elite, and agree that it would be best to do the very low ones (again my suggestion is 4 levels lower than group level in actual quest level). But I would like to spend a week or two getting everyone's quest log caught up, and if that means that say I am missing Stealthy Repo, and everyone else has it completed on normal, then i would like to have everyone do it on Hard and I will get favor and my quest log caught up. That brings up a question, if i do a quest with the group on hard, and go back and do it alone on normal, will i get that favor or once i do it on hard am i S.O.L. for normal favor?

Ok here is my list of 4th level and lower quests. For speed and to make a shorter post I will not list any quests that I have completed on Elite, and will list what level I have completed them. I have also completed all of the Solo quests.

Matter of Protection (n), Missing Ward (n), Baudry (n), Info is Key (not started need better search), Catacombs (n), Kobolds Ringleader (n), Butchers Path (n), Stealth repo (not started see previous posts), Smugglers Warehouse (n), Sunken Sewer (not started), Missing in Action (not started), Water Works (n), Steam Tunnels (n), Kobold Assault (n), Red Fang (h), Swiped Signet (s), Tangle root (n), Irestone (n), Freshen the Air (n), Depths group (n), Proof in the Poison (n), Stones run Red (n), Rest for the Restless (h)

I can most likely do sunken sewer and missing in action up to hard on my own, unless others need them too, but I most defiantly need help with Info is Key and Stealthy Repo. Thanks everyone.

Ron
11-11-2007, 05:29 PM
That brings up a question, if i do a quest with the group on hard, and go back and do it alone on normal, will i get that favor or once i do it on hard am i S.O.L. for normal favor?

No, you get the favor for all the levels below what you did.

For instance, if a quest gives 3 points of favor on normal, it then gives 6 for hard and 9 for elite.

If you don't do the quest on normal or hard, and do it on elite, you get 9 total favor points. Going back and doing it again on normal (or hard) gets you nothing (except the XP). So you don't miss out on any favor if you don't do all the earlier difficulties.

thor6478
11-11-2007, 06:43 PM
Thank you Ron, so to clarify, you get the same favor you always would, you just lose out on the XP and loot? Thank makes it much easier then for us to just do everything that everyone is missing, once on elite as long as one of us can open it on that level.

Dozen_Black_Roses

I should have asked last night, but of course I forgot to raise the matter.......what can I do to catch up on xp? I seem to be far behind most in the group. Yes we are the same level, but only because some are holding back so the group remains the same level. What can I do to catch up on xp? I think I am at least 40k behind if not more. I was thinking running Delera's but we have only done part one, so it's going to be hard to find a group that only wants to do the first part. Or can I go ahead and do the Pit? I personally hate that quest, its right up there with POP for me. However, it is realy good xp and if i did it two or three times I would be alot closer to the group. I could do tangelroot again, any big objection, if I run it on elite? Quest wise I think we are all on the same page. The only really low quest I havent done is Stealthy Repo, and that we agreed to run with Verlan. Taming the Flames and Gladewatch Outpost are the two remaining lvl 6/7 quests I saw on my list and that should be the same as everyone. Other than that there is the cerulean hills or sorrowdusk slayer/explorer, which is not bad xp wise. Give me some ideas and consensus please :) Thanks and everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron
11-20-2007, 08:25 AM
Running Slayer/Explorer seems like a pretty decent idea to me. You get some pretty good XP while at the same time you don't desynch yourself with the group's quests. Maybe I ought to join with you for part of it? I think I'm the next lowest after you. I am currently at 259K XP (11K from level 8). I think Verlan is the furthest ahead (he's been level 8 ready for a while now). If we were to get to (say) 280K, that would probably go a long way toward closing our gaps.

Where is everyone else at, XP wise?

Wow, Gordan, I didn't realize you were that low. I guess that makes sense, though, since you were gone for a while. Do you want to come with me and Pyre to do some Slayer/Explorer/Rares catchup running this weekend? Nomar's at 290K so maybe that's a good value to shoot for. That would be 45K for Pyre, is it possible to get that much through Tangleroot and Cerulean?

The only thing is I'm not sure about my schedule this weekend. I'll still have family here, so I may not be able to pre-plan very well. If you guys want to set something up I can see if I can make it. Otherwise I can probably solo them alright at this point, so feel free to go ahead without me if I can't make it.

i am about 15,000 short of 8th level. from reading everyones posts it looks like you guys all got to 8th? I am going to assume that is the case and then see if there are one or 2 house p things that i can solo. TC informed me that he (and i believe everyone) has house p buff now. i too would like those buffs. I hope that no one is against this. The only one who has not posted where they are level wise is our fearless leader. See you all Monday night. As a side note, it sucked that you guys could not play last Monday, but it was good for me so i did not miss two Mondays in a row. To Striker and TC, sorry I guess I already had plans last night that I did not know about, and with this new info from Our Fearless leader, it is good we did not play as with what I did yesterday I am only 1000 xp into 8th (and not leveled). As I am sure that we will not be playing on 12-24-07 and 12-31-07 (or those weekends for that matter I know that I have a whole lot of Family things I need to do those weekends). It looks like we have the 12-3, 12-10, and 12-17 before the new year. I would like to through out there that we do WW, STK, the bishop or Tangle Root on hard or elite (perferably elite). I would like to do The bishop most, then Tangle Root, then STK, and Ladt Choice WW. This will give all of us a chance to get favor and up to 8th level. Also if TC has another non-aligned toon on Sar that he would like to run thru one of those with us for one week that might be a good idea too (I think he is by far the one of us with the highest XPS and may even be as high as 8.2 or 8.3 when he levels). Just a thought on all of that. Speaking of Favor, am I correct that everyone now qualifies for House P buffs? I did the harbor House P quest yesterday up to Elite and am now only 2 points away. Will see everyone tomorrow night.

Ron
12-02-2007, 08:04 PM
So I think I may be the only one left who isn't at level 8, and I'm only 3K away, so no big deal (I'd think you guys can go ahead and level, and I'll be right behind you). In any case, I think we've made it so we're all a lot closer together than we were anyway. Verlan and I went through the first two parts of Tangleroot to catch him up (since the group had run those already, and he needed the House P favor, and I needed the XP). So I think we're all on the same page for Tangleroot on hard now.

As for questing through the rest of the year, I'm okay with Verlan's plan as long as no one is burned out on doing old quests yet. But if anyone feels like it's starting to be a grind, we can go back to doing new quests, I'm good either way.

I am about 5k away from 8th level, and I am a little board with doing the old quests I say that we at least do one new one tonight and my vote is for Stormcleave. If we do that one and get conquest we should all get around 13k anyway so we will deffinetly get to level 8.

Ron
12-03-2007, 10:17 AM
Dang, I'm totally fubared up. I could have sworn you made 8 the other day in Searing Heights, Gordan, heh. I must be losing it. So there are still 3 of us not at 8 at this point? Didn't Kor make 8 a couple of sessions ago?

Okay, so I'm presuming Gordan is the furthest behind at 265K and Nomar is the furthest ahead at 294K. So we're still at a spread of 29K in XP. Is that okay with everyone? Can we call us pretty well synched at this point? (Compared to prior, when Pyre was at 246K, giving us a 48K spread).

I'm good with doing Stormcleave tonight if everyone wants. Sounds like fun.

I would love to do storm cleave, its a good chunk of xp to make sure everyone is lvl 8. It will be challenging but thats the fun of it all. I know that Nomar and I have the day off, how about everyone else? Gordan is your store closed? Kor I beleive that you work midnights right? Pyre, aren't you a semi-government worker and as such would be off? Jherdon (check your in game mail btw) i have no idea what you do but are you off? if this is the case for all of us, and if this quest is as long as the two last night (about 2 hours), then if we played on Jan 1 at about 2 or 3 pm this would give me plenty of time to get to work at 6 pm (have to deliver those dumb pizza's). Alright gang, as you may or may not know Pyre likes to dance and explore the world. Well in her wanderings she heard of a guild who would be holding a grand event on this date. Intrigued and not having other plans, she signed up for a little treasure hunt event. Ne'er in her wildest dreams did she think that she would win...or come close to winning. What a night she did have and what fun!

So the bad news is I have somewhat broken our rules by doing something with this character outside of our group. The good news is that the prize is something we can all share in....a complete set of +1 stat tomes (wis, con, str, dex, cha, int). I will leave it up to you my fellow group mates to decide what to do with it. I truly never conceived I would win. I thought I would just have something fun to do on a Friday night.

Please post your thoughts and Monday we can decide what to do about it. If need be, I will create a new toon on Sarlona outside of the guild and mail the tomes to them.

If interested this is the link to the event I participated in:

Eh that's alright and even better that you won. Did the event involve quests or just random wanderings? I don't really have a problem with people joining server events like this just with people doing new quests with other people or running things when they don't really need to catchup. awesome Pyre, and what a boon for our group. Prye is a sorceress correct? It seems to me that it would make sense for the Wis to go to Nomar, the Int to Kor (part wizard), the Cha to our heroine, and this leaves the 3 physical stats. Dex does Verlan no good, but he could use the Con or Str. Jherdon as a Paly could use them also, not sure where he is with Dex. Gordan as the Ranger makes the most for the Dex but I do not know if he is maxed out for AC and would like any of the others. Again congrats and thank you for sharing with your team mates, that is very generous.

It did not involve doing any quests fully. Why I say that is if you click on the link and look at what items the officers needed (which btw this was not edited to show the items needed til after the event started), some of the items were from quests such as the club of the holy flame from deleras (I couldnt get this item but I swear I messaged every group starting it to pm me to give me the item after lol, though none did :( ). Also like the password to the prison in ww or the combat orders in tangleroot (I did get that, but just that item and did not complete the quest). Most of the items you could get around the world like collectables or food from bars etc. It was a really fun event and well planned out. You had clues where to find the officers and lists of items of what they wanted. But it was challenging finding them (they also used a guild name of Lost n Found so none of the host guild (Lost Legions) could locate them in guild chat. One that I found was inside the bottle hanging above the potion shop in House K, I Only found him because I caught him out of the corner of my eye. I definitely had an advantage getting to some of them as I could cast Jump and Haste. I really had a blast during the event, and was laughing half the time. I was honored to represent our guild and do so well :)

As for the tomes, of course Id like the charisma, but we should all look at our stats and see where we have odd numbers, and where the stats will help the group best. I purposely picked it as the prize so it could help our group, instead of soemthing that would only help one member or have to be sold and create a host of problems to our rules.

Ok guys the with our session this past Monday and all of us reaching 9th level it's sorta time for use to try and make a plan for the higher level content. This is mainly pertaining to the raids and such. My plan is for us to finish all of the Threnal Quests then attempt our first raid, Tempest Spire. I will ask one of the other Monday groups if they are ready to raid to join us and together we shall take the spire. That will be a long night as I want to keep with the groups goal of exploring every part of a quest. After Tempest I think the time would be right to start the Vault of Night series which will probably take us about 3 weeks. once those are done we'll start other level 8-10 stuff. Thoughts, ideas, concerns; lets hear em now so we can get it all worked out and get to questing.

sounds like a good plan, I know that the other monday night group that runs at the same time as us has already started von..think they are up to von3. Would be kewl to run TS together, as we are now the same level as that group, not sure of the group that starts later than us. However, we do need to complete Threnal to get closer on par with them as far as item pulls and AP enhancements we woudl gain as they are closer to 10, we are just now 9.

Sorry to have to leave on short notice last night, gang. My wife was sick yesterday, and she already has a somewhat tough time on Monday nights getting the kids to bed with me occupied with "game night" as it is. It's a tribute to how awesome she is that she didn't say a word, even though I knew she was feeling bad. I wanted to get there and help her out (our kids are 5 and 1 year, so they are a bit of a handful at bedtime, heh).

I will buy a medium collectables bag before next week's session, and I can do a collectables run after we finish, if y'all want.

shimiha_kakita
01-30-2008, 11:47 PM
no need to do that yet. I think we can manage fine without one for now.

On a different note I know it's a little short notice but who would be interested in doing a Friday session or two before the 11th, the current scheduled raid date. We could finish up Threnal and maybe some more of the level 8/9 quests.

Ron
01-31-2008, 03:37 PM
Too late, I had already bought one. It's okay, I desperately needed the pack space anyway. I've been running for the last several weeks with practically no open inventory slots (like 15 or less), and a lot of that was due to collectables. With the medium bag (plus the small bag), I can now fit every one I had, and have plenty of inventory space. I can do a collectable run whenever everyone wants.

I'm fine for Friday if everyone else is available.

Hope you had a good St. Patty's Day :P If you want to catch up, (not that you need the xp :P), we ran the Church and the Cult, and the Keeper's Sanctuary in House P and J, respectively. The team were real troopers, and of course, went above and beyond my expectations. I admit I was very nervous about both those quests (the latter I had never done but heard was tough) being run without you, but we all pulled together and played smartly and did great. We truly do have such a great team of skilled players, I am so proud to be a part of :)

I've been remiss in updating the group quest list lately. I just fixed it, it's now complete and up to date as of right now. I want to emphasize, this list is an exact match to what my character has done, and may not *exactly* be the same as everyone else's (thought it ought to be roughly equivelent). It's just easier on me to make sure everything is right when I can match it up number for number with what I have in game.

So anway, if you need it for any reason, there it is. The link is in my sig.

Finally thank you Pye for trying to save me, and I am sorry for your repair bill, loss of treasure and XPS for coming out to get me. Also thank you to Nomar for saving both of us. While I can not say I will not make a bonehead move again, I will work very hard to make sure I do not get a 'tude again. I look forward to our weekly adventures very much. I think we have one of the most cohesive groups. We are like family, as much as one can in an MMO. I dont feel any personal owenership over anything, everything is very communal, and we truly work as a team. So if one of us pulls a dummy move, yeh we are probably going to laugh, but you can count on us coming to help out.

So to you and Ron, no worries about the apology, it is not needed but definitely accepted :) See you in Stormreach next week!

Von 5 and 6 are pretty long, aren't they? Would it be possible to consider the 28th instead? The 21st may not be so great for me. I could do it if absolutely necessary, but may have to go AFK for a while around 7 to 7:30 ish (10-10:30 y'alls time), which I'd prefer not to have to do (esp in the middle of a raid with 11 other people). Well gang, it was a valiant effort! And I think the plan was a good one, it just failed because the mephets were unimpressed with our poor bard's songs, heh. And then it was 3-4 angry mephits against a squishy, and that's not good! :) I think we just ended up with too many people out there on the bridges (dead or not!), which seemed to upset the dragon for some strange reason.

So, if no one minds, maybe we ought to discuss alternative plans. Kor, is Baen's group here on the forums, and are they aware of our thread? We should hopefully get input from everyone. I'm sure we can beat this thing, we just need to have a plan in place before we get in there, I think.

These are my thoughts. I'm going to throw out some ideas and ask a few questions. Last night was my first time in VON 6, so there are still a few things I'm not entirely clear on.

So, thinking about what happened last night, it's pretty clear we can't mess around too much on the bridges. Velah seems to like to destroy them somewhat randomly, even when we are careful. Also, having just one person on those platforms with a group of 3-4 angry creatures is a recipie for suicide, they will never survive long enough for us to get organized and take down the pillars simultaneously. Clearly (to me at least) we need to clear those platforms as quickly as possible and get set up on them only once they are free of enemy.

So I take it the creatures on the platforms respawn? Question: Could we kill all but one of them and would the rest not respawn? That would bring us down to a more managable 3 hostiles rather than 9-12 of them. Just a thought, I don't know what the mechanics of their respawn are.

Here is my preliminary idea for next week:

As before, we run most of us to the middle section. We leave at the starting spot anyone who can incap the mobs in some fasion (sleep, fascinate, etc.), and maybe one of the clerics to watch over them. We also leave behind the three base runners (who can help sheild block if needed while the casters incap). Once we're ready, we take our best tank (probably Verlan?) fully buffed and run him all the way around, pulling the hostiles with him back to the starting point (Question: Can the MOBs be pulled off their platforms? If not, this whole idea is bunked, hehe). Once the tank gets back with train in tow, the casters incap all of them, thus clearing the platform. This may take two or even three laps if not all the MOBs follow at once.

Once we've incapped all the creatures, we set up our base runners (Question: How tough are those pillars? Do we need our best warriors there? Or can anyone stand there once the platforms are clear? Would it be better to have our best fighters on Velah?). We run the person to 2nd, then a person to 1st, then a person to 3rd (they can run clockwise, right?). Then we take them down and take out the dragon FTW! Piece of cake!

Bascially, the only difference between my idea and what we did last night is to bring the MOBs to the starting platform rather than try to incap them where they are. This puts less people out on the bridges/platforms and hopefully makes Velah less inclined to take out bridge sections. I would suggest we get someone over to 2nd base as soon as we can just in case the worst happens. We could always range the other two if we bring along some adamantium arrows, although obviously that wouldn't be ideal.

Also, perhaps we could discuss spell selection, specifically, good spells to incap those MOBs as long as possible at a time. Doesn't Sleep last pretty long? And Mil's fascinate is a good one too, for those MOBs that it works on. Are there better ones we could use? I don't play arcanes much, so you guys would know better than I would.

This whole idea is predicated on the thought that the MOBs can be pulled off their platforms. If they won't leave them, we would need a whole new plan, heh, and I would not really have any better ideas than what we tried last night. But I'm sure we'll come up with something. Obviously we have 12 very good people on this group who know how to play their characters, and it's my great honor to be able to run with you guys! I have no doubt we can beat this thing.

shimiha_kakita
04-29-2008, 11:14 AM
Nice thinking Ron and you ideas have worked in the past, they just don't work any more. When i first ran VoN 6 that is what we did but a few patches before mod 6 made the mobs stay at their "bases" rather than follow the aggroed person.Discussing last night we decided to try a large array of CC spells on them such as sleep, Hypnotic pattern, hold monster, and maybe even Flesh to stone for some. I think I'll try and run it over the weekend with my caster (Kasai lvl 11 wiz on Argonnessen) and see what might work best, but I'm pretty sure charming them isn't an option.

As for the pillars themselves the best way to take em down would be +X two handed addamantine weapons

Also I think Nomar still has cake so we can rest up before going to the plane of night.

One last thing I noticed about last night in the final fight for VoN 5 is that we took alot of sonic damage. This happens when some one is using a weapon with some sort of elemental property (shock, flaming, frost, sonic, or acid). This causes a feedback in the form of sonic damage that can hurt really fast, as evident by me dieing last night.

Milbrae hangs his head low, his brows knitted together so tightly that they seemed to have become one. He sits at his regular spot in the Rusty Nail, atop the counter by the good barkeep Jordan.

"I don't get it Jordan, me song didn't work, and that troubles me.... I must consult with my teachers, and perhaps practice more."

((I need to do some experiment with my Fascinate song. I believe that if successful, the bogies are entranced for about 48 seconds (base 30 secs + 60% Lingering Song). The only way to test that is with a stopwatch to countdown a test subject, which I should be able to do easily. Even if that were true, is that enough time to get the base runners set up on all three bases and have them destroy the pillars simultaneously?

I will also ask some other people about their experience with VON 6. About whether there can be multiple people on the bases (as opposed to the bridge). If there can be more than one person on each base (as opposed to the bridge) then someone (a tank perhaps) can run onto each base after I had (or a caster) held them. The two (or even three) can proceed to dispatch all but one bogie, while the caster can re-hold/re-fascinate the remaining one.

My question is can you Hold an elemental? I don't think Disco Balls work on them. And what's on the last platform?

Also, my usual method of deploying the Fascinate is to sneak into the mob and then play the song. Otherwise, they will exploit my squishiness ala last night. I know that in order for my Fascinate to work, the bogies have to be within range (which is not the problem, if they're aggro'd on me) at the END of the song. So if I don't sneak, I have to last about 6 or 7 secs without interruptions (like dying) in order for my song to work. Against 3 Air Mephit Princes, that's not great odds. My question is, do they not spawn until you're spotted? But I guess at the same time, I can start my song before they appear, assuming that it'll work as long as they hear the last part of the song.

Anyhow, I'll report back with what I find out.))

Milbrae continues with his drink as Jordan taps him on his shoulder, disrupting Milbrae's thoughts. Jordan points to the door, "Another one needs healing, and those over there needs some assistance with their bartering. Play them a song, good Halfiling."

Milbrae puts his drink down and proceeds to play.

Disco ball do in fact work on elementals. "3rd base" consists of ice flensers. Also I don't thin more than one can be on a "base" at any given time but I'll have to check.

StrikerDroid
04-29-2008, 11:40 AM
You don't have to check I know. You can only have 1 person on a section of bridge or on a base at a time. otherwise velah spews a fireball. After the pillars come down velah lands and we can all regroup at the center before we actually start the fight. What I would suggest is having a tank run through and get the aggro and then have a CC person follow and after said tank has the mobs attention the caster then incaps them. I think that maybe Flesh to Stone would work on the flensers and the mephits.

On a side note the pillars are constructs and are vulerable to construct bane.

Another Idea I have is we have 6 base runners. we put one to run past all the bases and stop on the bridge between 3rd and home. That runner gets the aggro of the mob on third(flensers). Runner 2 goes on third and attacks pillar. (as long as the people on the bases don't attack the mobs and somone else has the aggro they should be able to attack the pillars) Runners 3 and 4 repeat for second base and bridge between 2nd and 3rd. 5 and 6 do the same for 1st base and the bridge between 1st and second.

Any thoughts guys?

P.S. also who made 11th?

That was another plan I had formed in my head. I can go get the flensers via scorching ray and kep them busy sin they have a hard time hitting me with niacs and their Ice shard thing.

As far as I know no one but when we run through VoN 5 again almost the entire party will level.

Found this tome (http://ddo.gameminion.com/guide.php?id=10)that explains about the how those pillars in the plane of night work. Maybe it can be of some use to us.

((I was just looking for info on the pillars themselves the method given to take them down no longer works.))

I got this suggestion from a fellow Bard:

((At level 10 your Fascinate should last long enough to freak all of the pillar mobs long enough to get all of them down.

Here's how I do it:

Buff with FoM, Rage and IC.

Run to the flensers, timing your Fascinate to hit them just as you get there. Signal a melee to head there as you leave and start working on the pillar.

Run to the mephits, using the same timing to land your Fascinate as you arrive. Depart for the elementals.

Fascinate the elementals at first base, signal a second melee to head over and start working on the pillar, and head back to the mephits.

Take down the mephit pillar with your dual greater construct bane weapons. Sync your three pillar killers and take them down completely. Run back and take out the earth elementals, lest they earthgrab you while you're fighting Velah.

If you don't have the muscle to take down the mephit pillar yourself, have the most-capable melee zip all the way past the flensers and prep the mephit pillar while you're mezzing the elementals. They will return to the flensers while you're on the way back to the mephits.

Good luck.))

Parts of it won't work for me like the part that requires dual Contruct Bane weapons, which I don't have. Though I can shop for them. I'll be practicing my timing more this week, hopefully that'll work better.

Okay, so much for my idea :) Mil's plan seems pretty reasonable, if we make a few modifications.

My main weapon is not two handed, but it is a +4 adamantine blade, think that will be good enough?

shimiha_kakita

well the pillars have DR 10/- and are immune to crits, spells, and elemental stuff so as long as you can do >10 dmg per swing you should be good

StrikerDroid

I'm gonna need to resort to my bow, or go shopping for a construct bane weapon.

Ron
04-30-2008, 10:01 AM
Hmmm, well my weapon is a +4 Khopesh, which gives it 1D8+4 (5-12), plus my strength bonus of +6. So if I calculate right, that should give me a total of 11-18 damage per hit, minus 10 for DR. It's also adamantine, but I guess that doesn't bypass it's DR. So I should be able to damage them, albiet somewhat slowly (1-8 damage per hit).

shimiha_kakita

From additional research and testing I've found out that the Pillars AC is around 0 so the only way you will miss it is if you roll a 1. This means we can obtain some +X two handers and go to town on them, regardless if we are proficient with the weapon or not.

I think +5 greatswords, 2d6+5+str mod, would be the best way to go

thor6478
04-30-2008, 11:46 AM
So since it is DR/- then transmuting weapons are useless too? I have a +1 transmuting greatsword of maiming, and a 26str (+7?) to damage so i am sure I can handle a pillar pretty good. I also know that with FoM I can handle the Earth Elementals no problem, the mephits and the Ice guys are another story. Physical damage does not hurt me too much, but energy hits me hard. Do the Mephits do cold damage too? if so the Protection/resist spells help. I am more that happy to do what ever you guys need. The only problem with me is that i did not understand what Intimadate did until Ron explained it about 3 weeks ago, so my score is like a 1 (and as a fighter should be a whole lot higher). Does anyone have a good intimadate item i could use to get that up for the run? I know we can do this, I very much enjoy running with both groups, we all seem to work well together, thank you all.

In my research i found that fear works well on the earth elementals but not on the flensers or mephits. Also you can charm the mobs and not have fire spit at you and you can have a summoned creature there as well but it needs to be summoned on the base.

I think there is a bug in that quest as well right now that causes the mephits to light the bridges on fire. The seems to happem if they follow a person off of the base and that person then get incapped. Also spells like hypnosis and suggestion do work as well. Does anyone know if mephits or flensers can cast their spells (Ice storm, lightning bolt) if they are Feebleminded?

Hey there. ( I leveled to 11 also, but it makes only 10 cleric levels, so no new spells for me :( )

I would like to recommend that the info that Milbrae has learned is our most reliable and reasonable chance for success. It addresses the issues, including the likelihood
(No offense Milb...) that the bard will not be able to quickly take down the pillar.

I am afraid of having more than 3 people trying to work together on the bridges. It is way too easy to forget where each other is, and end up with two people on one baseline.

Having casters of any sort out around the bridge seems frought with danger. They sure can draw the aggro, but THEN what! We don't want to create respawn. ('course, come ta think of it, at the rate they were PKin last week, maybe Luth and Pyre could just camp the spawn points and hit em as they zone in! )

I think the best choice has been done, and we will get it done: I believe that once Milbrae has her songs' timing down, so the song ENDS as she arrives at the mobs, they will have no choice but to succumb to her talents. We will mega-buff her before she goes. (Casters bring whatever scrolls we need to do that. We will also buff the tanks who will following.)

As for spells that work on the mobs that are out there, I have heard that FTS works, although I have never seen it. I can tell you Milbrae, as Im sure you know, that rocks like to dance. If you are under fire perhaps a quick hit with a spell before retrying a fascinate?

Also, if Fear works, would it make sense then, that perhaps we can find a set of some sort of light fearsome armor for Milb? Then, at least if she gets hit, it'll be just the one time. Maybe good idea for any tank going to be standing wailing on a post with their back to the mobs?

Finally, remember, the tanks can prep the pillars, one tank can go prep the middle pillar for the bard, but no pillar should be dropped to below 10% before all three are in place, or they can respawn.

I look forward to doing this again with you all...... (but hopefully just once more!) :D

((I was just looking for info on the pillars themselves the method given to take them down no longer works.))

I was just reading this tome ya found... I am willing to try the "Less Cheesy Method" if that is what the group decides. It should still work. I still think our first plan will work, but maybe we can prep this as a backup plan?

And for anyone who may be doing some extra reading, just in case you don't realize, there is some old info out there that is no longer accurate. The tome above recommends hiding behind rocks if the dragon is putting the smack on ya, but that will only cause multiple spawns of heinous mobs to attack you as well, so be careful!

Yvetzky
05-01-2008, 10:39 AM
I agree with Sigma that there should be a backup plan as well (guess I should have more faith in myself, but you can never be too careful).

Whatever our group decides, I would suggest posting both Plan A and Plan B on here (and maybe on the other team's board as well?) so everyone can read through and be prepared.

I'll be getting my new PC this weekend too, so I'll be able to voice chat on Monday. That should help with the coordination/timing when we do the pillars. (Mind you I didn't get one for the game... I need it for making a living... but it just so happens my audio card on the old one wasn't working so well...)

I think it'll help also if everyone disclose their weapons so we can make sure the best tools are being used? I.e., I have a Dragon Bane weapon somewhere in my bank, and I'm sure it'll be more useful in the hands of one of the tanks.

Ok well to formulate a plan what cc, incap spells does everyone have?? Do we have flesh to stone??, dancing sphere?? as for weapons I will prolly have the dragons aggro, I have a +2 holy lesser dragon bane longbow, with lesser dragonbane arrows, greater dragonbane arrows, screaming arrows, and manyshot. I don't realy have anything that would work as a pillar killer though.

thor6478

Well I normally use bastard swords and have many (+4 shock, +1 icy burst, +2 flaming burst, +2 transmuting, +3 ghost touch of parrying) and i am also currently armed with a +1 transmuting Greatsword of Maiming (we found it and Kor instructed me to keep it, i think just to bring down the pillars). I am specialized with slashing weapons, so Mil if that Dragon Bane is any slashing weapon except for a Dwarven axe, I would love to borrow it.

Yvetzky
05-02-2008, 10:28 AM
I have these two swords that I'll be glad to let others use, since Milbrae is really not that strong.

+2 True Law Dragon Bane Longsword (Double whammy for Velah since she's Chaotic Evil, right?)
+1 Acid Lesser Dragon Bane Shortsword

Just let me know who wants to use these.

I think I also have some Contruct Bane Arrows.

thor6478
05-02-2008, 11:39 AM
Well I believe you have to be lawful to use the True Law (correct?) so i think that one is useless to me (i am neutral). As to the acid one, that gives does 1d6+1, +d6 acid, +d6 dragon correct? Is she a fire type? If so i think we will be better off with me using my +1 icy burst Bastard sword (1d10+1, +d6 cold {extra against fire?}, possible +d10 cold). Also is she resistant/immune to any forms of energy other than Fire? I would suggest the Long sword for Jherdon he is a paladin after all.

This seems like a good plan: I know we have at least one ranger (gordan) and Rogue (Kor), and the Bard might be roguey enough too. My self and Moranda can be the tanks on 1 and 3. What kind of crowd control spells do Luthor and Pyre have? I know that one of our clerics are part ranger too. I think that Jherdon (with the true law dragon bane) needs to be right there ready to hit the dragon. Also if the Bard went to 1st got aggro, then snuck up to 2nd, waited for Gordon to run past 3rd get aggro, on 2 get aggro, then back to between 2 and 3, the bard could then fascinate 2 (does that cause you to get aggro when they wake up?). Then the tanks could get out there and start on the pillars, and the two sorcerors could follow up and help with the mob.

I do not understand number 6, does it only affect Clerics?

"did this two nights ago and it works.

1. Have a rogue or ranger run through first base to the half-way point between 1st and second base. He'll have the aggro from first base.
2. Have another rogue/ranger run through third base all the way to second base and then back to the half-way point between 2nd and 3rd base. He'll have the aggro from 2nd and third base.
3. Send tanks to each of the bases to preop the pillars.
4. Have a bard or wizard at the ready to run to bases for crowd control. The tanks must stay on the bases and the casters must stay on the bridges.
5. Take the pilars down and then one-by-one, run back to home plate. The last to go back should be the ranger/rogues with the aggro.
6. Clerics can no longer stand on the plank where the force wall comes down. If they do, they will get blown off when everyone else charges. they can however, stand in the bucket."

Ron
05-03-2008, 01:08 PM
I don't really get how #3 works. You couldn't send a tank to 2nd under that scenario without passing one of the agro holders on the bridges, which would put 2 on a bridge at the same time and probably cause Velah to launch a fireball at it, wouldn't it? And could the agro holders hold up under that sort of assault by themselves for the length of time we'd need to coordinate taking down the pillars?

I could use that true law dragon bane. With my +5 STR bonus, I do 1D8+10 (altogether) with my Khopesh, with a +10 to hit. The longsword would be 1D8+2D6+7 with a +7 to hit. I might be whiffing a bit more than usual, but would certainly be hitting harder when I connected :)

05-03-2008, 10:34 PM
Ron I agree, but I think the OP of that strat probably left out the fact that the rog/rgr on each bridge (between 1/2 and 2/3) have to keep aggro AND range the pillar on 2nd. No way can anyone go to 2nd in this config. Also the "crowd control" bard or wizzes can not step foot on first or third, only the bridges leading up to them. This strat could work for us if the rgr/rogs have bow/arrow combos that will do dmg greater than the DR 10/-. Construct bane arrows and the biggest bow type?

I have only a +4 addy dwv axe, but I probably won't be swinging it much, just spammin mass CLW.

Anyone have more info on #6? Why only clerics get blown off? Will removing FF items help?

Instead of the strat listed above ( 1-6 list) perhaps Caliban from the same thread had it better... I'll summarize rather than quote:
Needed: two aggro grabbers (AGs) and two tanks.
1/ 1st AG runs thru 3rd, gets aggro, also goes to 2nd gets agro, locates self on bridge between the two. Keeps aggro by intimidate, ranging, whatever.
2/ Tank goes from home base to third and can start prepping.
3/ Another tank goes from home, thru 1st, to second, and can start prepping. (The AG makes sure to maintain aggro)
4/ Another AG goes thru first to next bridge, grabbing Earth Ele's aggro and keeping it.
5/ 3rd tank goes to first and, all together, the pillars get taken down.
6/ If the AGs cannot maintain aggro, a quick switch: they focus on drawing aggro from 2nd, and 2 more AGs can go between home and 1st or 3rd to grab aggro from there.
7/ everyone comes back one at a time.

The more I look at that the more I like it. Only two type of instructions, and limited # of steps. Everyone should be buffed up first of course, and the tanks need to remember to carry something that will deal with that DR10/-. Each participant should know their own role clearly, and comms coordinated by someone back home. Me, I'll be hiding in the bucket, whatever that is.:D

I was going to PM this to Milbrae, but I think I would rather make it a matter of public record:

I have full faith and confidence in her ability to land the fascinate. If we wish to give that another shot, I am all for it. We must still be prepared, as they only stay fascinated for a short time, so overcoming that DR is again critical.

If we do go this route, may I suggest that we allow our musical Milbrae to lead a few attacks in the precursor quest, so we can ALL get a sense for her timing. ( That means we all let her fascinate some mobs first BEFORE we go crazy with the PKs! ;) )

Okay this time I'm really done.

alright, granted my experience with this raid is limited... I do know:
1) you cannot have more than 1 person on a base OR a bridge at a time or Velah fireballs
2) the final battle with Velah does not begin until the barrier to the center island is dropped and someone crosses the threshold
3) The left side of Velah (from the platform where we enter her island) is the best place for the tanks to attack her side
4) The right side away from Velah is where the casters always seem to head to

thought on tactics: hmmm, being the pillars can be brought down to a sliver of hit points and they need to be all dropped at once.... this would seem to indicate that we need multiple baserunners. I would say have a tank run to the first base and just past to get the aggro... once the tank hits the base, someone using CC should run toward the same base and CC the mobs from the bridge. once the mobs are neutralized, the tank should run on to the next base and the CC user follow after. Once this CC user is onto the next bridge, another tank should hit the platform and bring the pillar down to a sliver. I think 2 solid teams could do it... 2 tanks and 2 casters or bards. As long as we are careful to not get more than one person on a bridge or platform I think this should work well. This also gives us enough ppl out there to bring the pillars down from a sliver to nothing swiftly once we are prepared, plus ppl to CC as needed if mobs break free. If ppl can stay on their bridge or platform until the previous person tells them they reached the next one then we should be able to shuffle ppl as needed. Also note that some ppl were able to target and hit the pillars on 1st and 3rd base from the central island... perhaps this could be used as well. Anyways, just a few thoughts and see everyone Mon nite!

Just catching up on this thread. I will have to log into Pyre to check but I think for cc spells I only have glitterdust. I know I dont have solid fog, I do have that on Deviliscious. Sometimes you can find items with clickies of it at the vendors though. As Luth and I are both sorcerers we have less spells per level than wizards and also get our new spells a level later. As for flesh to stone or otto's dancing spheres those are level six spells that neither of us have yet. There is a lower level irrisistable dance, I dont have it picked but its a close range spell so I dont see how we would be able to use it from the bridges since we cant go on to the bases. Milbrae may have dancing balls, I am not sure what level bards get it but I know they get it earlier than casters. However just like Luth and I, bards have to pay to change out spells if it is not one Mil has mem'd, it is not like a wizard or a cleric where you just need to shrine or be in a tavern to change spells. it costs money to change spells and can only be done every 3 days.

Now, as far as us not pk'g things so Mil can practice fascinating, that would be great except for one thing. Unless she has the enahncements for song of the dead (fascinates undead) and/or song of the makers (fascinates constructs) she will not be able to fascinate anything practically in von 5. In von 6, she will of course be able to fascinate all at the bridges/bases. I have bards on each server so I know the class well, it does take practice to land your fascinates, and I would strongly recommend to Mil to go into some quests solo where there will be a lot of mobs but you have room to move around (butchers path comes to mind) and just practice over and over until you get the timing down.

Freedom of movement, haste, blur, and displacement, resist energy will all be good spells for us to use on the base runners to help the runners do their jobs. Hypnotize will work on the mobs as well as long as they are close enough for us to reach from the bridges. I just see the logistics of it to be an issue as you have to cross the bases to get to the next one.

That's about all I can think of atm, but I'm getting over a flu so my thinking is a bit clouded.

Anyone have more info on #6? Why only clerics get blown off? Will removing FF items help?
I'm just guessing it's not just clerics, but anyone standing on that bridge (between start and dragon) when the field comes down? I see no reason why one particular class would be singled out. I suspect they just mention clerics because it was probably common practice to have them standing somewhat behind the front line people, maybe?

Instead of the strat listed above ( 1-6 list) perhaps Caliban from the same thread had it better... I'll summarize rather than quote:
Needed: two aggro grabbers (AGs) and THREE tanks.
1/ 1st AG runs thru 3rd, gets aggro, also goes to 2nd gets agro, locates self on bridge between the two. Keeps aggro by intimidate, ranging, whatever.

Aye, I like this (I slightly fixed it for ya, in bold :) ). I was thinking much the same thing. I worry about trying to range the pillars except as a last resort, it would be too hard to get them all down within 10 seconds of each other trying to range them, I think. Much better to have a person physically there with a good weapon.

So, none of the creatures will leave their platforms, and they don't have any ranged attacks to speak of, other than the earthgrab (right?). So our AGs should be safe on the bridges, yes? How tough will it be to maintain agro? If there is a tank standing right next to them, but being passive, will they maintain on the AGs anyway?

The more I look at that the more I like it. Only two type of instructions, and limited # of steps. Everyone should be buffed up first of course, and the tanks need to remember to carry something that will deal with that DR10/-. Each participant should know their own role clearly, and comms coordinated by someone back home. Me, I'll be hiding in the bucket, whatever that is.:D

So I take it this is our backup plan, and the primary plan will stilll be up to Milb? :) I'm actually still a bit confused by what the strategy is there. Once Milb does all the fascinating, what then? Isn't this basically the same plan as above? With Milb being one of the AGs? I'll just do whatever you guys tell me to do, I'm flexible.

We should bring along some good bows so we can range if absolutely necessary (we don't want to fail again because the bridges are down and we can't damage the pillars at all like last week, hehe).

In any event, I picked up a +3 greatsword from the broker (best I could do with what they had). I think it should be sufficient. So obviously I volunteer to be one of the tanks.

Now for the bad news. There may be a bit of time in Von5 where I won't be able to contribute for a bit. It's the same reason I didn't want to do the raid the week before last. Every other week we have both our daughters (we share custody of our oldest with her father, I'm her stepdad). When we only have the one, my wife can take care of getting her to bed (as was the case last week). But with both of them, I have to help out, and it takes a while. It's generally between 7 to 7:30ish (10-10:30 y'alls time). I may just have to park myself in the middle room for a bit while I'm getting one of them to sleep. Sorry guys, can't really be helped. I will get back as soon as I possibly can to contribute. I'm sure you guys will be fine without me for half an hour or so. Right? :)

Ok Kor and I did some testing this week and this was the plan that we formulated. It involves 3 sets of 2, just like the plan I layed out before. But the first group will be Kor, and Verlan, They will run the bases from 1st to third (one at a Time) and kor will stop between 3rd and home. Kor will then unleash some fireballs via wand to aggro the ice flensers. (for some reason magic seems to generate more hate, and fireball is an AOE so he should keep all of them mad at him) And with kor's high reflex and resists he should be fine with damage. then verlan steps up and preps the pillar on third. Then the next group will me(Gordon) and Jherdon. We will follow the same tatics for second base. I have an AoE spell called spike growth that causes 2d4 damage every 2 seconds so that should keep the mephits mad at me so Jherdon can prep pillar number 2. as for the third pillar I would suggest Milbre and have her fasinate or sound burst or any AoE spell she can hit the ele's with. And the Tank would be Moranda. Once the pillars are all ready we can then gauge how long it took each person to damage them and whoever took the longest starts first and then we take em down. Then we should all run back to the pitchers mound 1 at a time. starting with 3rd then 1st then second.

I ran von 5 and 6 successfully last nite, and saw everything in action so I have a better idea of how things work. I had Luthour next to me watching so he could see too...we now know of a safe spot for the clerics to be when we actually go after the dragon. Definitely want to make sure everyone has fire resist and protect and for the clerics to have raise dead scrolls if they are out of mana.

Hi all. Just some details of what Milbrae has.

Jherdon can have the +2 True Law Dragon Bane Longsword for use.

Milb has these for AoE spells: Otto's Sphere of Dancing (Buffed DC of 24), and Soundburst (Buffed DC of 20) and Fascinate. He also has Hold Monster if that helps.

He'll be practicing his Fascinate today before we meet up in case we're still going that route.

Also, if any spell casters need to pick up wands or scrolls from the vendors, Milb has a buffed Haggle of 29, so he'd be glad to be your personal shopper and pick up any necessary items prior to the big shin dig. Just post here or PM me. I'll be checking stuff throughout the day from 5 p.m. Eastern onward.

TC,

I am looking at my clerics spells now, on mine I dont have anything selected as a spell that I can use a wand or scroll for equally well (i.e. lesser restoration wands, restoration scrolls, remove curse wands, etc.). Obviously it's a different story in our group as far as funds. I would hope we can pool some funds prior to starting to buy more raise dead scrolls. Either way, Id try to hold off using them in von 5, unless absolutely essential. There are several shrines and we can bring ppl back to them if needed. If we wipe at the dragon (von6) you and the other cleric(s) will need any raise dead scrolls at that point to get the team up so we can try again. By that point after buffing people you probably wont have the mana to use the spell of raise dead more than a few times. The only spell that I see that I would question the utility of for von 5 and 6 is break enchantment. Not sure how much itll be needed. What about greater command instead>? Oh also dismissal, unless you have a really high spell pen feat and enhancements, and item it likely wont work on the mephits and youll probably not be near where they are anyway to be able to use. Mass shield of faith may help more. These are only ideas, and only cause as a cleric I can comment on them and help. When it comes to tank issues, I havent a clue and I cant comment on what other team members have posted :P See you tonite! :)
