Solo Reclaiming the Rift R1 at lvl 23 with 1 death because Smoke Bomb ran out before I finished shrining (note to self: Extend works on the invisibility effect!)

Poisinem, The Lil' Shady: Spit words and drop bombs

This is a melee Alchemist. It is slow, challenging and fun.
The melee is a mop: it cleans up and preserves spell points.
Any race is fine. I prefer Gnome because I like to be short, and I don't have any racial AP.
Stats and skills are the same as the Bombardier above.
Solo 1-shot everything with multivial on Heroic R1.
Poisoned Coating is your primary melee damage source on Epic difficulty.
Don't take maximize, empower, intensify for Wave of Poison.
As of May 2020, Master of Poisons makes almost no difference to your poison attacks.
Don't take Improved Critical because most end-game weapons have Impact or Keen.
Use Epic Defensive Fighting at level 21.
Make sure to have a good Intimidate score. People will want you to tank.
Unfortunately, there is no good Epic Destiny for this build that gives both negative spell damage, int stats, hp and spell DCs. I run in Unyelding Sentinel, and if I had the racial AP, I would be a Dwarf with Throw your Weight Around.
Keep an eye on Slarden's forum (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/512544-DC-Casting-Alchemist-Apothecary) post about Alchemist and Transmutation DCs. He updated it with some valuable insights about gear in #19.
End-game you need high Transmutation DCs for Flash Freeze if you want to do mid/high reaper.

Epic Destiny:
From level 20-29: Unyielding Sentinel

Enhancements: Divine Energy Resistance 3/3, Brace for Impact 2/2, Constitution I 1/1, II 1/1, III 1/1, IV 1/1, Spark of Life 1/1, Constitution V 1/1, Strength of Vitality 3/3, Constitution VI 1/1

Twists of Fate:
From level 20-29:
- Stormrage / Divine Hymn / Sense Weakness (works vs. frozen and earth grabbed mobs)
- Summer Smoke / Arcane Hymn (can only have one hymn at a time)
- Reign / Transmutation Specialist
- Endless Faith

At level 30 you need to farm gear that gets your Transmutation DCs to 100+. Try to get your Wisdom as high as possible for Mass Frog. If it's possible find a way to boost your stun DCs too. With Know the Angles you already have 20+ insight bonus to stun. Depending on which feats you took, your rotation would probably be something like Dire Charge -> Flas Freeze -> Multivial of Poison (for poison immune mobs throw your Poison Waves first). Turn to Frog is for precision targeting, e.g. it is super efficient vs. champ Forgewraiths. Mass Frog is a panic button. On high reaper levels of 6 an beyond, expect to do a lot of healing, stunning and frogging. To pull this off you need to speculate in how to optimize DCs on stuns (spells and/or abilities) through gear and filigrees. Once you have everything in place, LR to max out INT and WIS and put the rest in CON, just to get those extra DCs for Mass Frog.

UPDATE 05-09-2020: Did R6 The Archons' Trial with a melee Alch who used TWF instead of SWF. She was able to Flash Freeze almost everything and melee it down. Very powerful and effective build!

The Prodigy: An Inquisitive Vile Alchemist

Race: Gnome or whatever race you see fit.
Stats: 20 int, 18 con, 12 dex. If you dont have a 36 pt build or a dex tome adjust stats so that you have 21 dex for Combat Archery at level 24.
Skills: Spellcraft, heal, umd, jump, search, spot, balance, swim, diplo, haggle.

Rough leveling guide
Lvl 1: completionist or something else
Lvl 3: rapid reload
Lvl 4: alchy feat - battalion brew
Lvl 6: point blank shot
Lvl 8: alchy feat - rapid shot

Sadly this is all I got currently: Legendary Wallwatch set (armor, head, gauntlets), Legendary Necromancer's Bracers, Silverthread Belt and Sunken Slippers for poison damage and heals, Legendary Ring of Changes and Shattered Onyx for spell DCs, Echo of Ravenkind and Cloak of Balance for con & hp, Key of Rhukaan Draal for intelligence and attack bonus (you also get insight bonus to weapon damage from know the angles), Legendary Acolyte's Lenses because I don't have any better gear right now :-)
Weapon is The Hallowed Splinters with 3/3 Snake Bite for the poison damage. Sadly I don't have any rare filigrees nor any sentient augment with enough xp to get more boosts.
Augments throughout my gear: Nothing to brag about sadly.
Overall - my gear reflects the fact that this build could be much stronger of one invested the time and grind to get higher spell DCs and ranged power than I have. My DCs on Flash Freeze are 77, enough to freeze some mobs on R1, and my ranged power is onle 193, poison spell power is 813.

- A Dance of Flowers (i tested it and it works on ranged weapons it just doesn't show up on your weap)

Master of Poisons is an Epic Feat (https://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Feats) you can choose at level 24.

Maximize, Empower, Intesify are good for Multivial of Poison and similar damage spells.

For end game, you could free up the 3 feats and choose something that would either make you more tanky or heighten your spell DCs so that you can instantly kill a target instead, e.g. by using Turn to Frog.

Updated with my third and final build.

All builds are incomplete as of now. And I'm not sure if the Alchemist is a class that wants to be 'complete'. My impression is that it wants you to experiment and take it in all kinds of new directions.

The build I enjoyed the most was the Inquisitive. If I had a static group and much more time to grind gear, this would be the build I would settle for.

If you want a build for quick rxp and huge burst damage, go for the boomer.

Feel free to offer suggestions and constructive criticism. I'll try to keep everything updated if necessary.

That is a good question.

Also, I would go with Magister ED instead of Draconic. I tried it in VoD and the dps is much higher in Magister. Focus on +spell levels and then crit multiplier.

With Magister i did 20k+ fire crits in THTH. As Draconic I seemed to be stuck on 7-12k crits.

The only way magister is more dps than draconic is if your DC's in draconic are so weak you're unable to land anything.

Beyond that, it's not possible for it to be more. Draconic has innate crit damage, then a bunch of spellpower from the tiers.
