Recently on the Discord forums, SteelStar confirmed that the 30% Alacrity boost to Attack Speed from the T5 Inquisitor's Path stacks with all other bonuses to Attack Speed.

Here's the Quote:

In nearly all cases, if an effect or skill doesn't call out a specific Bonus Type, it is Unique and should stack with everything. The Inquisitive Alacrity is untyped and stacks with everything; weapon-specific alacrity increases do not currently appear on the character sheet, something I would like to fix someday when I can take a day of a core engineer's time.

So my question to the greater DDO world out there is has anyone tested ranged attack speed RECENTLY to see if this bonus actually stacks with things such as haste, blinding speed, cannith ranged alacrity enchant and so forth.

I know there were some old tests done in 2012 with thrower builds that showed that 32% ranged attack speed was the max in game. I want to know if this is still accurate or way off now that inquisitives are kicking around.

If no tests have been done recently, could someone try to test the limits of ranged attack speed?

Thanks to all!

Interesting numbers on gxbows. I wonder if the math adds up the same for inquisitives dual shooter style.

None of this is new information. Haste, Alacrity and BAB Bonus to Attack Speed have always stacked. Most of the item bonuses however to attack speed are typed the same as haste (enhancement) and do not stack. This was known with mechanic tier 5, wolf form attack speed, monk unarmed attack speed and now inquisitor with L or H Xbow and tier 5. What makes ranged difficult is the actual attack animation is different, and pafrticularly xbows are affected differently. For repeaters for example, its something like fire, reload, aim, fire, etc. So repeaters actually benefit the least from alacrity as compared to most forms of attack since it only affects the attack portion of the animation. Also on the link below it disccuses everything but non-repeating xbows as far as how much of the animation is actually attack versus reload time. Although keep in mind many of the ranged feats speed up the reload time which can be as or more impactful than alacrity depending on your form of attack.

Other things worth noting, movement, auto attack vs clicking and BAB all affect attack speed as well.

I would really like to see some speed tests done specifically with the inquisitive. I haven't scoured the whole web to see if it's already been done, but I think it's warranted due to the totally different way they attack with Dual Shooter. I would specifically like to see the speed increase that blinding speed gives you. Is this feat worth it with the Inquisitive? How much difference in attack speed does it even make? I don't take it at face value that you will attack 22% faster.

have you checked the two inquisitive links at the bottom? https://ddowiki.com/page/Attack_speed#See_also
maybe the threads have something

I am quite sure it doesn't. I agree It should, but does not.

Here is the test i did:

Zero doubleshot, attack for 30 seconds the cannon on ship with a stack of 1000 bolts.

Bolts consumed with ranged alacrity only from tier5 inquisitive = 115.

Bolts consumed with ranged alacrity + haste potion = 115

Bolts consumed with ranged alacrity + blinding speed feat = 115

Math doesnt lie, it doesnt stack

I assure you blinding speed and ranged alacrity does stack on inquisitor. I am not sure if you are wearing a quiver or another alacrity item when you tested (which will not stack) but I and many others have tested and confirmed that ranged alacrity should and does stack. It definitely does not work as advertised although due to attack animation of reload as the alacrity only applies to the attack portion. Which as far as I can tell is similar to a bow and only applies to 33% of the actual animation. In which case, would be roughly a 11% increase in attack speed.

I would say if you are shooting 115 bolts with dual crossbows with or without haste/blinding speed you are already stacking the enhancement, an enhancement alacrity speed boost and likely a close to maxed BAB. Create a new toon and test an LXbow at level 1 and your probably shooting something like 42 bolts in 30 secs. With dual xbow its like 84 bolts in 30 secs. With haste/blinding speed/item its like 92 bolts 30 sec. With the previous plus alacrity enhancement its like 101 bolts per 30 secs. With full BAB its like 110-120 ish.

even if you are right, still taking blinding speed as feat will be wasted. when i have time i'll test it on a fresh iconic and let you know maths on a lvl 15 (cant test blinding speed of course, but will test haste)

I read somewhere - i'll try to find where if needed - that the attack speed caps at 32%. This might be the reason that you are seeing that they don't stack.
