Came back to the game a couple months ago, been enjoying it a lot so far! I even managed to get a character up to max level and reincarnate her, something I've never actually done before. However, I've now gotten to Barovia with her, and up to An Invitation to Dinner, and I've run into a problem. I forgot to farm up a low level ghost touch item, and now I can't get any farther in the chain because I can't damage the spectres and things fast enough to get them off my hireling healer, so he dies and then eventually I die. I can't farm the level 10 ghost touch items from Temple of Amber or Wrath of the Earth on her, because they're locked behind quest-chain progress. I did go ransack them with my remaining high-level character, since they're BtA, but no luck so far. Ghostbane Ruby is Mabar only, and I came back just a little too late to get in on that this year. Cannith crafted ghost touch shards require some ridiculously high skill, 250 I think? I don't have anywhere near enough essences to make min-level shards to get that high, I'm only at 170 or so. Haven't seen any ghost touch or incorporeal bane monk weapons in random loot drops, or on the auction house. Are there any other sources of ghost touch or ways of dealing with incorporeal mobs that I've missed, or do I just have to ransack out Temple of Amber and Wrath of the Earth every week until the cloak or boots shows up?

I'd ideally like to not have to just beg for a carry, I'm really shy about grouping even when the servers aren't dead and it's a quest I'm able to contribute on, let alone inflicting my non-contributing butt on a team for something like this.

Any item with the ghostly or ethereal property also adds the ability to hit incorporeal targets, but since you specifically mention monk-compatible weapons your best bet could be to keep an eye out for:
Witching Hour - quarterstaff from the shadow crypt, it's bound to character on equip so you might be able to find it in the auction house
Eternal rest - handwraps from the catacombs end list, ml 2 & also bound on equip rather than acquire like most things from there so another you might be able to find in the AH if you don't want to run the chain

Otherwise, especially if you have crafting ingredients to spare you could try asking around in channels or the crafting halls chat for someone to make an item for you, or try and trade for one of the mabar ghostbane augments - they're typically available in the ASAH on Thelanis where i'm based but the prices have gone up quite a bit since ravenloft as they go really well in the barovian weapons.

it is an easy farm, too--five minutes to the chest if you run fast and way over level...

Saekee San's solution works for all weapons but here are some more options:

Dagger
ML2 Dagger of the Inquisition (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Dagger_of_Inquisition) from Catacombs
ML8 Tenebrous Stiletto (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Tenebrous_Stiletto) from The Shadow Crypt (I see this one on the Auction House often.)

Great Sword
ML1 Battleworn (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Battleworn_Sword) Sword from the The Crypt of Gerard Dryden

Hand Wraps
ML2 Eternal Rest (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Eternal_Rest) from Catacombs

Heavy Mace
ML6 Mace of Wrath (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Mace_of_the_Wraith) from Caverns of Korromar

Long Bow
ML4 Lumric's Longbow (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Lumric%27s_Longbow) from the Necropolis (currently deeply discounted)
ML6 Ghostbane Longbow (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Ghostbane_Longbow) from the Necropolis

Long Sword
ML2 Blade of the Inquisition (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Blade_of_Inquisition) from Catacombs

Maul
ML8 Phase Hammer (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Phase_Hammer) from The Shadow Crypt

Quarterstaff
ML8 Witching Hour (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Witching_Hour) from The Shadow Crypt

Scimitar
ML10 Mirage (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Mirage) from The Sands of Menechtarun

I should also mention that Ghostbane still exists as a property on random loot weapons but the rarity increased dramatically after the last update to that system. If you select "ALL ITEMS" on the Auction House with the search criteria "ghost" you will find them. Due to the rarity you will probably not find something useful with one search, but if you add "ghost" to your regular Auction House search routine you will eventually find some nice weapons. :)

Note to new players: Every so often the developers like to update random loot. When this happens, previously rare properties become common and previously common properties become rare. Once upon a time, Ghostbane was an extremely common property but no longer. Many veterans stored away lots of Ghostane weapons from that era, thus avoiding the original poster's problem. Right now, Vorpal is very common. I recommend all new players store some good Vorpal weapons just in case the loot tables ever change because the very probably will. :)

I can't remember if you yourself being incorporeal cancels out mob's incorporeality in DDO... If it does, you can try the ninja 3rd core...

From the new expansion, sealed in amber quest.

Yep, the Shadowhail cloak was the one I was trying to get on my high level. I'd managed to completely overlook the Cloak of Invisibility, though, I'll have to look into that, and then maybe some of the weapons. Thank you all so much for the help!

This one in particular seems to be a very common drop.
