UPDATE: The game worlds have reopened. Thank you!

The DDO Game Servers will be brought down on Thursday, September 15th from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) for a hotfix. Thanks for your patience, and we'll see you back in the game soon!

The hotfix will address the following issues:


Fixed an issue that could prevent progress in Secret of the Slaver's Stockade if you kill enemies while located outside of the Caveling room.
Fixed an issue that could cause the map object required to complete Secret of the Slaver's Stockade to disappear if you leave the room after completing the end fight.
Vampirism, Vitality, and Keen Cannith Crafting Shards no longer give out True Seeing Shards instead.
Fixed an issue that could cause the game client to crash when filtering for Feather Fall, Underwater Action, and Deathblock in the Cannith Crafting UI.
Mythic Heroic Loot will no longer appear in the Legendary versions of the Against the Slave Lords quests.
The server select scroll bar in the launcher is now its correct green color.

Check on the Kobolds before the fix, make sure they aren't roaming the halls.

Fix the old loot not being able to be decon'd while there at it. It may not have been what you boys in Boston wanted but after two days it's clear that we PAYING CUSTOMERS do want it. Don't think for a second that this will just drift away if you ignore it man, people have entire herds of Alts and Mules stocked with loot for this and ignoring us will only make the problem worse.

Show us Turbine gives a darn about it's paying customer.

Does that happen with every world? I'd switch worlds, and then go back to your primary.

I have not been able to get past the character selection screen since 5am cst 09/14. I get to the "Loading... Please Wait" screen until i get s game error window "the connection has been lost" msg. How do you contact anyone anymore since I can't get into the game.

can someone please help me i am having problems i can log in just fine but when it gets to the loading screen it will say attempt 1 of 20 when it hits 20 it will say connection connecting to the server has failed or something like that can anyone please tell me whats wrong i just tried to log on it said connection failed

What about the max level in the crafting UI? Does it go up to 400, now? Every time I set it to 400, it autocorrects to 340.

It was like that on Lammania too. I just assumed it meant there were no shards above 340 to craft. (And what really is the point of making yet more Shards of Potential... er... ML30 shards as you go higher and higher?)

I just checked the Unbound machine. It capped at 425 for Insightful.

oh wow ouch.... i didn't realise that. i feel bad for anyone who saved all their stuff to decon after the update. i know some were wondering whether it would be best to decon before or after....obviously before.... i think i'd sook a bit if i saved my stuff to decon after and then couldn't.

but is it just stuff from before the the update? i'm pretty sure that i have got stuff from quests since the update that don't deconstruct - just a few items. i didn't think much of it and sold them to vendor. i figured it was just a bug they'd fix whenever... hmmm that also makes one have to think twice about buying stuff off auctioneer. i've spent heaps buying cheap items from auctioneer to break into essences in the past.

suppose it's no longer a good idea to do that.... wow.... that's really awful. i suppose there is no way to tell what is from before and after the update, so no way to tell what stuff on auctioneer will deconstruct and what wont. hmmm..... that's gonna kinda kill the low end of the market on auctioneer.

all i can say is i'm really grateful to people complaining about that. otherwise this weekend i might have spent a heap of plat buying stuff from auction for the purpose of breaking it down into essences and then finding i couldn't. ouch. that would have hurt.

you want it when? .you havent been around long have you. they took away our ability to craft stuff we already worked for just so we would have to buy mats in the store. they only care about us being a cash cow for failed projects like infinite crisis.

I don't want it if it makes the decon machine lag. I can accept vending some old loot. Is it really a big loss? Keep in mind this is not all loot before the update, just all loot before the random loot pass.

Firstly, NO NEW MATS need to be bought to craft in the mew system, it is a matter of choice if you want to spend TP to buy essences or collectibles. Secondly it's not specific to gear being old for dissolving purposes, all nonscaling or otherwise uncraftable prefix effects seem to not fit with dissolving at this point probably as a result of how an item is being checked for decon value. I really think we should just stop complaining about the new cannith as a comparison with old cannith, especially when most effects at most levels scale stronger than their old counterparts.

I have to agree with you. People were in such an uproar about loss of mc for +6 stat shards when the difference is level 9 or level 10, and the new one can have 2 more effects. I noticed that the new stuff that was not deconning was non-scaling too and speed (not crafted), I assume that will get fixed.

Specifically, as you can't fit masterful onto new Cannith attribute +6 is ml10, which requires at this point with crafting level 100 FLAT, which is incidentally what you would already have AT LEAST in crafting xp if you ever made +6 att shards, plus you can now fit a pre/suffix, and being an ml10 item should be able to fit an extra slot but I'll call that irrelevant since it needs a Mark of Cannith and most effects that fit there are currently uncraftable if you haven't gone crazy picking up collectables the past 24 hours or bought 50 or so collectible boxes.

That said of course I'm keeping my old +6 rings, which in case anyone forgot were ML9 with masterful. For those of you complaining that you can't make those now I have another question for you:
Why didn't you make them ahead of time before the crafting pass came?

I haven't analyzed the situation, but I think Deathblock is one of the effects that doesn't dissolve.

Bound shards cap at 340, unbound shards at higher levels.

I am kinda surprised they didn't just make a new decon machine, accepts any item, checks items "Min level" tag gives new cannith essence based exclusively on that, once set up, mass decon would most likely be easier, it would accept old loot / new loot / named loot since all it looks at is if the item has Min level to equip, some properties might be weighed differently and such, but i don't think anyone cares about such minor differences unless it is giving back a portion of the collectables used to make said properties.

Finally, being able to craft w/o lag, I bet it helps questing indirectly.
Lag in the crafting hall is SOOOOO much better!

I know this will sound impertinent but... when will you guys move to a blue green deployment model so there is little to no need for downtime? i.e. all users booted then re-log into the green servers?

There is one change from the OP release notes: The fix for Vitality, Vampirism, and Keen Shards worked for Bound shards, but not Unbound shards. Unbound shards are still giving out True Seeing shards instead. Whether that's a plus I'll leave up to you, but it'll be fixed in a future patch.

Well... obviously its a huge plus if you particularly want true seeing shards and don't quite have the crafting levels for it or enough of the new epic collectibles yet, like me. So yay, cheaper true seeing!

If on the other hand you wanted to put keen on your newly TRd vanguard's bastard sword or finally want to kit out a few characters with armour with vitality and fortification on it, as I also do, its a bit of an arse, to be perfectly honest. :p

DDO giveth, and DDO taketh away...

Don't put it on the back burner to fix, like has been done on so many other occasions? Things not working as they appear they should on screen is a terrible advertisement for the game for anyone who doesn't read the forums. Get it sorted for the next hotfix/patch/update, whichever comes first. Please?

Still have the login error. Was able to get in once until the network status display went red about 5 min after login and can't get back in game.

Mine's White.

It's jarring when you're used to the Green.
