Some of the items I have aren't able to be dissolved. I can disjunct them, but there's no option to dissolve.

I have a

ML24 +6 Vorpal Shortbow of Feeding
ML24 +6 Paralyzing Greataxe of Sonic Lore 17
ML22 +6 Paralyzing Darkwood Great Crossbow of Doubleshot 6
ML25 Deathblock Belt of Tumble 18

Possibly more, haven't gone through all my items yet.

Stuffing it in guild chest until they fix it.

Vorpal, Paralyzing, and Deathblock all appear to be restricted effects to breaking down loot (and there may be more); guild members noted this last night. I assume there will be a hotfix at some point to address this.

We've been looking into this issue, and have figured out what's going on. Only new randomly generated loot can be dissolved in the new Cannith Crafting system, so old pre-new random gen loot can only be Disjuncted and crafted on, used, or sold. Old random loot cannot be dissolved to Essences.

a thread already exists about this (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/478640-Can-t-break-down-older-items-for-essences)

Nor can old shards, apparently? More than a bit frustrating imo.

Is there any plan to address this, if only at some basic, general, quick-and-dirty level? Please?

There's not going to be a plan to address that. They decided that the requirements for dealing with that were overly burdensome compared to the convenience benefits to the relatively small number of players who would still be hanging onto a significant number of old shards.

There was a notice in the game launcher and announcements in the forums that players should deconstruct all of their old-system shards if they were the type to hoard them rather than just deconstructing them for more crafting xp and materials.

[Before anyone directs too-cool-for-school snark at me, please note that I'm simply stating the facts--not asking you to grin ear-to-ear about it and jump-for-joy. Although in the grand scheme of things, I think this issue ranks pretty low in the history of DDO crises.]

EDIT: Also, a thread exists about this (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/478689-Could-we-please-have-a-way-to-break-down-or-convert-old-shards)

I've seen newly dropped items not wanting to be deconned as well, not just old items. Stuff that dropped today.

It also looks like the Dissolver text description is still possibly wrong: "[...] dissolveeffects ...". I believe is meant to be two words.

Old random loot cannot be dissolved to Essences.

Is that working as intended (in the meta sense), or is it something that may be changed at some point in the future?

+1
All with hidden Speed attribute on it. And with Deathblock too.

Vorpal, banishing, paralyzing etc can't be deconned for essences. Basically, I think anything that is on the unique-to-lootgen list here:

I've not had any problems with anything except that or 2 generations-old loot.

Have had problems with returning throwers as well. But yeah.
