Starting on Wednesday, July 27th (tomorrow), we will be doing regular weekly restarts of the DDO game worlds. These weekly restarts will take place starting at 9:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) every Wednesday. This is being done to promote the general health of the game environment. Click here (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Weekly+DDO+World+Restarts&iso=20160727T08&p1=43) for your local time.

NOTE: We'll put an estimated uptime up after we work through this enough to be confident in our process, but the estimated downtime should be around an hour or so.

NOTE: When the worlds reopen, it will take up to an hour for guild airship amenities to repopulate.

Nice! With the general deterioration of performance over time, I think this should help some. Catiously optimistic, at least.

Unfortunately, neither the cybernetics, nor the limb-grafting has really come to fruition. So, I can only give this decision two thumbs-up! (for now)

I like and support those kind of actions. It will benefit all of us, devs, players, and Turbine itself.

I applaud this decision and think it helps quite a bit. Before all the people come on with, I logged on and couldn't get buffs on my ship, because they did not want to take the time to read the (highlighted portion), make sure you get the ship buffs before you logout, so you will have them the next day when the servers come back up. :)

And how these scheduled server restarts affect timers known to be associated with time, like quest and chests ransack, guild renown decay and other things? We know server restarts have been done often in later times, but not in a repeated and scheduled way.

While I applaud the server restarts....

Couldn't we do this at a civilized time like 4am? Or is the far east a larger slice of revenue these days?

I remember a time when ddo didn't need weekly restarts and the game ran fine for months at a time.
It's a shame that the only solution to fixing the performance is weekly restarts instead of fixing the actual problems causing the performance issues. I really hate band-aid fixes but I guess it's the norm.

Employee work times. No need to make employees come in super early (likely 2 or 3am) one day every week, for the sole purpose of restarting the servers.

As a matter of fact, that is a possibility in the future. If there are a handful of things we want to fix/update, this provides us with a weekly window. Granted, it's still a new build and all, but it may well be that we can sneak in some work between patches.

The Devs may have happy lives outside of Turbine. While working 8-5, with occasional overtime is nice. Getting up at 2 A.M.
for the minor convenience of a few players may not be in the best interest of said happy lives.

It's about time. This should have happened years ago. There are many, many memory leaks in the game, and we have mentioned it quite a bit over the years.

Lately, I have been noticing a degradation in the instance creation. Since the game is a lot about instance creation, it is annoying.

While cost-cutting measures may have resulted in the increased incidence of performance issues, one should also remember that the game is significantly larger and more complex than before, so there is a lot more to go wrong.

One of the great things people seem to appreciate about another game I play is that they have regular updates, patches and hotfixes, frequently seen multiple hotfixes in a single day, admittedly they've set up their infrastructure so they can apply those hotfixes without any kind of restart required on their end, just the clients playing need to restart after delivery, which makes it not possible for DDO but the point being that even simply pushing 1 fix out for the weekly restarts would be great!

Am good with a scheduled weekly restart time.

One tiny little twerk I'd like to suggest... I see LOTRO is having a down time Wednesday as well, even tho it doesn't mention that becoming a scheduled thing. IF it ever does become a thing over there, can y'all make those on different days? :o

lol. funny you should ask that.

just this morning in conversation, someone who worked as a developer on a ftp game advised that most of their marketing is aimed at people who spend over $10k per year and some upwards of $100,000 in ONE MONTH!!!! I figure they must be oil barrens or bankers.

don't think it would be possible in DDO, but I figure, like any business, they have to cater to the money to stay in business and that top spending 5% could well be in far east...

Cordo,
Thanks for Turbine listening to the feedback about Quality Control -- and also, setting expectations.

I would also concur with prior post here that suggested to consider performing LOTRO server restarts offset from DDO. While I don't play LOTRO, I could see a marketing and customer satisfaction issue there if both games are down, whereas - you might pick up new customers crossing over to one game or the other with this becoming a standard down-time.

For whatever reason, I'm having a flashback to SNL, with Belushi in the "Cheeseburger..." skit.

I'm in favor of better game play but why does every restart have to be during the only time in the day I have time to play?

No matter what time they chose, someone would say that. Just like every single time there's an update with a lot of downtime, somebody says, "Thanks for choosing my day off to take the game down!"
And after every server restart, somebody says "%*%#@ You Turbine! You somehow managed to strip my airship of all the amenities that I paid good money for!"
And just like every time someone mentions the Shadowfell Conspiracy somebody says "Shadowfail" like it's clever and original.

Maybe they should just bend space and time in a manner in which they can create a pocket time dimension in which they can have downtime that goes unnoticed by us in the real world?
Because that's the only way to avoid somebody complaining.
Actually, somebody would probably still complain.

What if that fix breaks something? Then you get more down time (6-24 hours) and it disrupts the schedule. They may not have the dev and testing resources to work on weekly fixes while also working on regular tri-monthly updates and monthly patches.

Any chance of putting this in the launcher. I didn't notice the info there and that being said the server restarted around 20 after ... was 3/4 through freshen the air and didn't have time to complete but had I known about this when I logged in I would have just done some inventory cleanup and auction house stuff rather than start the quest.

That being said a weekly restart makes a lot of sense for sure to keep the system running more smoothly, hopefully this is viewed as preventative and a triage solution not the actual correction needed to resolve the core problem. I am a little surprised you didn't pick an early morning time for the restart but I suspect you no longer have anyone on site overnight so that is likely the reason. You could consider having the people needed to manage a restart simply start early on the reboot day (and go home early as well), I know I implemented that in our department and most of my team are pushing to get to be the one to manage the maintenance window as it's viewed as a quiet time where they can get a lot more accomplished uninterrupted.

Thanks.

It was there yesterday, then the DDO Tuesday newsletter pushed it down one spot.

But, it has always been like that. The most important thing is never on top.

First of all I just want to state that I haven't played in a couple of days (which isn't unusual) so I would not have seen it at the top yesterday.

Second it is very obvious and easy to understand that the launcher displays the posts in a LIFO format (Last In First Out) so that the latest post is always on top. I am good with that, it makes sense.

What I am suggesting is that they indeed post that on the launcher the morning of a restart (EVERY restart) so that it's the top message. These restarts are going to be a regular event from the sounds of it so what I am suggesting is a simple modification of their procedure for running these that they include posting a reminder.

I will note that in all the years I have played this game (just about since launch) this is the first time that I can recall when a scheduled downtime WASN'T the top most message on the launcher so I fail to see how what I am asking for or my concern that it wasn't on top could be considered unreasonable.

At any rate the discussion feels like it's beginning to circle.

TL;DR: I am hoping that Turbine will consider that they please post the restart messages so that they appear as the topmost notification in the launcher window just like all other scheduled downtimes usually do.

Well a lot of that has to do with the 'sales pitch' for sure ;) I made sure to sell it as a quiet time and "cat's away" sort of day for the staff and they ate that up.

Generally we are but we also (thank the Gods) have a robust test environment and rollback/recovery procedures.

Basically if anything will take longer than an hour to diagnose and resolve we rollback. In some cases we re-attempt the process but in the event the update didn't occur it goes back to the test environment to figure out what went wrong and make the appropriate adjustments for the next month's window. I can honestly only recall having to do this twice in the last 15 years, that being said there is quite often something that needs to be addressed that didn't rear it's head in test but generally it's manageable.

More often that not we endup with more work on the helpdesk side of the department after the maintenance window for the handful of people who seem to be unable to touch a computer without having something goofy happen.

So rather than actually fixing the memory leaks, they'll just implement a weekly server restart. Is Microsoft running Turbine these days?

Interesting.

Its not a solution, its a workaround. This is how you do IT Problem Management: as soon as you have a viable workaround, you deploy it. This buys you time to find the actual solution and deploy that.

Sometimes it is true that you never deploy a true solution because its impossible, too expensive, or what have you.

The tragedy really is how long its taken them to identify (or, if I'm being kind, to get to the point where they could reliably deploy and were confident in) this idea as a workaround. Switch it off and on again isn't exactly a new concept (especially if you are targeting memory leaks), and fundamentally that's what this is, just writ large on a very delicate server ecosystem.

But there's nothing in cordo's post that says they will not be still working on fixing underlying causes, or other unrelated things just because they've set up a program of restarts. In fact later on he says they may well use it as a window for deploying smaller fixes through.

So whichever way you look at it, this is a good sign for the health of the game. Progress
has been made. With current available resources, that's good.

Then chances are what was broken would have been broken in the tri-monthly update or monthly patch and you'd have to wait at least a month for a potential fix, instead of potentially a week.

I'm not saying they should rush the deployment of fixes, but if the fixes are ready for deployment there's no sense holding them back, and a faster deployment on Fixes generally helps to improve the perceived health of a game by the player-base.

For a 10 year old game spanning millions of lines of code and using 3rd party libs for a lot of things, I'm sure memory leaks have come and gone into the server code over and over. There's probably one being added right now and probably some known ones that are either not in Turbine's code or in tough to isolate or the person who knows how that complex code left so not worth touching it.

There were times when Turbine would have the servers up for months back in the day and you wouldn't notice - though there was a lot less to do then. There was even a time right after F2P launch that seasonal game events weren't crazy laggy on the rest of the world though they have been consistently laggy the last few years.

As good as it may be to help reduce lag and a tiny fraction of in-game, this solution is a sign things are going REALLY downhill with the game. Perhaps those 'maintenance mode' predictions may not be crazy after all. Maybe it is a reality that could set in months or years from now.

One thing to consider: Codemasters (back when they ran the European Servers) did a Weekly (IIRC) restart pretty much from the release of the game. 7-10 years ago. Things ran smoother than it appeared to on the US forums for the same game (even being 2 weeks behind in releases/fixes).

So don't get too concerned about restarts implying upcoming maintenance mode. It may happen (in fact it will happen), just not necessarily this week/month/year.

I remember a time when ddo didn't need weekly restarts and the game ran fine for months at a time.
It's a shame that the only solution to fixing the performance is weekly restarts instead of fixing the actual problems causing the performance issues. I really hate band-aid fixes but I guess it's the norm.

Use to be a lot fewer people playing!

Cannot people tell time? It was first posted that the worlds would do the weekly reset at 8:00am est. No problem with doing resets, if that is something you believe needs to be done. So this week, 08/03/2016 I stay off of the game until 8:30am and check in to see how things are going. I see then it is posted that the worlds will reset at 9:00am. Hmm... later than originally intended, ok. So then I log at 9:30am and THEN a warning is going up about the worlds resetting in 30 minutes.

What is going on? So I could have been playing the game up until 10:00am? Even by your own readjustment of time, you missed the mark. Makes you wonder whose/what is running the show.

Honestly, I'm just excited that you guys are putting in the effort to keep maintenance up. I love this game, and have put way too many hours into it to see it degrade like this. Seeing the "string table error" thing on some interactions just frightens me a little. Nothing is game breaking, but it just looks like it needs maintenance. I hope this is sufficient to fix all the little things and get the game back to smoother sailing.

Server work you typically don't put in resolution times as part of your SLA's unless all you're responsible for is the delivery of parts or something. If all you do is is provide warranty hard drives or something then yes, a 4 hour SLA on delivery is possible. If you do any sort of diagnostics or full scope work then I've only ever seen SLA's discuss communication. "We will notify you of a problem within 30 minutes and give you updates every hour" or something similar.

I think some of the complaining is funny, especially if you put it in perspective...

First, when restarts don't happen after a few weeks the forums are full of complaints about unplayable lag.

Second we are now on our 5th restart since July 27th. This is the first restart that didn't go smoothly (or at least the not smooth part is noticeable by the players).

I'm sure they are doing everything they can to resolve the issue quickly and accurately.

See everyone in game eventually :).

Cannot even restart without screwing it up ... sad

Oh someone that has never dealt with a server that has its own personality :). I wish I kid, but we use to have a server that had scheduled down times, when I went on vacation, following very detailed instructions the technicians brought it down and it would not come back up. After calling me and having me on Speaker Phone the server heard my voice and started up and ran as if nothing was wrong. This is why guys name their cars and talk to them, machines do have their own personality and sometimes they express not liking someone or something. :)

But i work in IT and believe it or not, these things do happen. Sometimes the hardware fails, sometimes it's people.

Hey there. I am very glad the game is on weekly matience to help the game's performance. I would really like it if DDO would make a few improvements. Please allow more friends in the Friend's List for each character. I play several toons and I would really like to know when any of my friends from all my friend's lists are on line. I may want to switch toons simply because I like a certain friend. I also never know which friends are active and have been inactive. I really don't like taking toons off my friend's lists. It saddens me. :( If DDO would permit, I would really like to see both bottle bags and scroll folders. I end up having an entire toon holding the bottles I want to keep. I also have another toon for the scrolls I wish to keep. Also I have a tendency to run out of potions and scrolls when I'm at a pivotal point in a quest. Like Hireling Folders and Augment bags, we would benefit from Scroll Folders and Bottle (or Potion) Bags. I have been hoping for these three things for years. Many people agree with me about the folders and bags, and my personal greatest desire is more friends on the Friends' List. Please see what you can do to make this happen for us. :)

When potion bags and scroll cases were brought up in the past, one of the biggest stumbling blocks would be that you couldn't use the item from inside the container. I know that they were looking, when time allowed, to see if there was a way around that, but it didn't look like a good possiblity last I knew.

Wolf_Thunderspirit
12-15-2016, 12:07 AM
As a matter of fact, that is a possibility in the future. If there are a handful of things we want to fix/update, this provides us with a weekly window. Granted, it's still a new build and all, but it may well be that we can sneak in some work between patches.

May I suggest that you upload small packet patches instead of large fixes and the like? Easier to resolve issues when you're loading things one at a time than ten at a time.

I think that would go a long way in expediting resolutions, rather than saying that you have an update with 5 hours of downtime expected, that we still don't have the worlds open or stabily open for over 24 ...

Solves the research work as well, trying to cipher down 1 among 10 vs 1 and only 1 change. Seems like a win-win on both angles.

A lot of players would be happy with these as-is, to just have the storage even if you can't instantly use them from there. You slot them ahead of time on a hotbar, that greys out when the scroll/pot goes into it's storage container, and you have to go into Inventory and pull it out to use it, and the hotbar link goes live when you do. No instant use, but many of us could live with that (and it seems rather "in character" to not have it on the fast-draw anyway) - use an inventory slot for those pots/items that are "must use NOW".

Click here (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Weekly+DDO+World+Restarts&iso=20160727T08&p1=43) for your local time.

I know you sometimes leave the test server up during down times and i was wondering if there was any plans to have a server left up during the wed down times like turbine used to leave the PK server up on Asherons call during weekly maint?

Ya its weird. Normally a restart only takes a few minutes.. I guess they either forgot to add they are going to patch something, or they restarted and something bad happened.

Sorry for the longer than usual downtime today. The extra time was due to us activating the Risia Ice Games and Midwinter Festival, then doing the various checks necessary to make sure the event is functioning correctly. Most bonuses don't require downtime, but this event does, because if we activate it with players in the world then folks in the Harbor and Eveningstar will find themselves stuck in ice. :) Yes, we learned this the hard way...

There will be downtime for a small patch at some point this week. We won't know for sure when that downtime will be for a little while yet. It is possible it occurs tomorrow at the regularly scheduled weekly restarts time but it is also possible that it does not happen until Thursday or Friday. And if the patch does not take place on Wednesday there will be no downtime on Wednesday.

I am also getting the same error. Hopefully it will "just work" when the worlds come back online, but if someone official could tell us if any additional steps are required, that would be much appreciated. I don't have DDO on my start menu or anything- I go into the turbine folder and launch turbinelauncher. If the changeover to a new company changes this, and I can't even launch turbinelauncher to get a patch or see an update, then hopefully someone can post instructions here, short of having to reinstall everything.

Looks like there were plenty of people in the game when I logged in as a test (Pylotro on Linux, yes, still works for me too) so I'd guess it works at least for most people?

While I applaud the server restarts....

Couldn't we do this at a civilized time like 4am? Or is the far east a larger slice of revenue these days?

I know there have been several responses of "Devs get to have lives too", and I totally respect that, but I have to ask whether there is any way to put in an app that automatically stops and restarts the world? Heck, if there is a patch ready, it could stop, load and restart. It usually takes 3-4 hours to bring the worlds back up after an update, it could run at 5, and be done between 8 and 9, and the devs would be in by then to watch on the back end and make sure everything is going smoothly. Just a question.

Go the extra step and post a new thread with the break from the schedule. No one read this post of yours in an "old news" thread. I only found it because I went hunting after seeing a "30 minutes until server restart" notice, which is also atypical since I usually see a 60 minute announcement followed by countdown.

Still, I see the restarts as important. I did not realize they had moved day (normally I am at work).

Anyway. I wanted to say that I was straight up kicked off a Forum page that I was reading a few minutes ago. It was about all of the recent closures/downtime on various services (Shard Exchange, Monster Manual, TRs, Character Transfers, Weekly restarts). Makes me kind of nervous. I was planning a TR in the very near future and I'm kind of squeamish about wasting my Tokens of the Twelve, not to mention years of gear. I put way too much time and money into losing some of that loot. The way the page just closed on me reminded me of a dropped call from years ago. Should I be logged on to the forums right now?

No, you can play on XP just fine. The only thing that no longer works is the internal browser used for DDO Store. You'll have to use your normal browser and that means no cosmetic previews in the game anymore.

Since they change the browser on the store on the first update 36 I have not been able to get into the game and i noticed on the Ravenloft deal it said something about needing a system of vista 64bit or higher so I just assumed that is what had happened. Because I have not heard anything from SSG on my ticket and I have checked daily.

In the game launcher select Options and then check "Use Legacy Client (Windows Vista and prior compatibility)." Apologies if it won't help, it's true that I tried XP prior to update 36.

I run Linux and have been experiencing similar issues. My work around is to backup the dndclient.exe file and rename dnd_awesomium.exe to dndclient.exe. From what I understand, this is the same thing as running it in "legacy mode" but regardless, it's worked for me after the last 3 or 4 updates.

'Quick Note' in a place that no one will ever find it, I only have it as I've had to bookmark it. No start time, no estimation on work to be done, no restart time.

Put it on the ****ing launcher a week in advance, if SSG are that useless they can't even schedule maintenance 1 week in advance then what the **** are they doing running MMO's?

I log in and get a 15 minute server going down warning.

How many hours for this time?

I did my yearly visit to GW2 yesterday, I could of played this and visited there today, no notice, no warning basically **** all again.

I have 2 months VIP left running that came from my Ravenloft pack that I probably won't get to use, if I try to play again and the game is down my head will blow and I'll end up rage quitting yet again.

I spent most of yesterday telling people in GW2 that this game was still playable, that their tp hadn't vanished when SSG took over and that it wasn't going down every 5 ****ing minutes.

More fool me.

p.s. and if you put in on the launcher put it in GMT instead of local with (GMT), its supposed to be about the player, not the dev too ****ing lazy to work it out themselves.

I'm normally not logging in to ddo in the morning, I'm busy biking the kid to school and then myself to work. Sorry for being a productive member of society!

Also, if its just a weekly restart it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I used to have an 800 node cluster we had to do a weekly restart on (thanks OS X for being a real piece of ...work) -- took us under a half hour, usually closer to 15 minutes. We later switched to Linux (on mac hardware) and quit doing that weekly restart, because there was no need. It was stable even without the weekly reboot.

A week's notice for a weekly downtime is a bit much, but dropping a note the previous day would have been nice, just so when worlds were down it was obvious why.

Probably like most people (myself included) that are normally working during the day when it's happening and don't know.
Then happen to be off this week for the holidays, go to hop in the game and get blocked.

It's clearly more than just a restart as it's been closed for over an hour now, so I agree that a heads up in the launcher would be a nice thing.

We ran into an unexpected issue during today's weekly world restarts, and are working on it. Worlds should reopen soon. Potentially up by Noon Eastern, will let you know.

this is not very good as I only get to play in the morning before going to work. In the last month due to updates ,hotfixes and restarts December was a lame month for game time. really unacceptable guys. as a paying customer I am not getting my monies worth here . it is very consistent also . When updates to the game come up I expect extra downtime cause you seem to rush things.

and same time every week since July, I have been working. so yes, I would appreciate some kind of a notice on the initial login screen that DDO is currently offline for regularly scheduled maintenance instead of seeing the "world closed" message

so once I saw that, I checked the service news and saw the weekly restart message but it also says that usual down time is around 1 hour and if it did start at the listed time, it's been over 90 minutes now. so did make me wonder if something else was happening as I don't know if it's common for it to be offline for closer to 2 hours than 1

Yep I'm usually at work when the weekly restart happens, but, when I find that I can't log in I go to the forums and before acting like a spoiled brat (as did the one that started this discussion) I read why it's down. And then if I see that it is happening for half an year, in a weekly fashion I won't get all upset, because if I didn't know about them it's probably my fault as I wasn't reading the information in the forums.

Also, as you can see in the 1st post in this thread (the one from 5 months ago) you can see that the amount of time to restart is more-less 1 hour so I wouldn't lose my pants over it.

Server status shows worlds are up. But as I try to log in it shows worlds are down. Perhaps something wrong with the app?

Would be nice if they added server restart information to the log in screen.

I thought they usually put a message on the launcher, or on FAcebook, or here. So I wondered if this was even a thing today - until the red broadcast message gave us all a 20 minute warning. lol

Err, it's been happening pretty much same time every week since July.

How much more of a clue do people need?

I know this will come as a chock to you but there do exist us that work during this time and day and thus it was not until this holiday one became aware of this.

And as said. No notification on the client... Lame!

HEADS UP: We will not be doing a weekly restart tomorrow (Wednesday, January 10th) because we're currently working on a patch that we hope to get out later this week. More info when we're ready on the patch.

Is there any place where we can check if there's going to be weekly restart on Wednesday? It's quite annoying. Should I start a longer quest? or wait? or wait another hour? or maybe this time?

I agree 100%. I'm content with the idea that maybe weekly restarts are a good thing and that I can handle the routine time. I'm not thrilled when they are postponed without warning or update. If history dictates, no downtime today means a hotfix either tomorrow or Friday and no warning on that either.

And how about some consistency? If they're doing routine restarts I'd expect an outage window of about the same duration each week. The fact that this one has extended past 2 hours makes me believe they're doing more than a restart, in which case they should simply state another outage. We're never going to be happy when the game is down, but constantly having to check back is frustrating. Say what you do, do what you say.

You might want to check the dev tracker...

Since it's happening on a Thursday, is that because of the concern about snow in Boston today (Wednesday)? Or because there will be something new in the DDO Store tomorrow morning?

Jerry had to stay home from work but still did the noon livestream. I'm guessing because of the snow.

Call me crazy but I'd say it's a "restart."

Unfortunately, the people who had to be here to do the weekly restart got delayed due to downed trees and power issues from the storm, so we were not able to do the restart this week.

We are moving our weekly world restarts from Wednesdays to Tuesdays starting tomorrow. In general we'd found ourselves updating the game frequently enough on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, so having a more consistent downtime schedule made sense.

Yes - in just under 60 minutes, according to the World Broadcast.

Just to clarify, I am guessing that this does not mean that U38 is coming out today, just that in general updates have tended to be on Tuesdays so for simplicity the weekly world restarts are moving to Tuesdays.

Exactly, it matches our actual downtime pattern more than the Wednesday day did.

My ship amenities never came back. I've logged in and out several times. They are all missing including the ones in the cargo hold. I know I'm missing some deeds, banquet hall is an obvious one, but I have no way of telling what I'm missing? Can I get some help please?

For some reason the air ship amenities need different times after a server restart to repopulate, therefore the "help" you need comes from waiting that this happens for your ship too.
And as a tip: the amenities will not repopulate on an active airship instance.
Therefore it makes no sense to wait for it on your ship.
If there are no amenities on your ship, everyone has to leave the airship for 5 minutes to give the ship a chance to correctly open again with the amenities on it.

They did eventually come back but it doesn't normally take as long. Almost 12 hours for them to come back. If I was a normal person I'd probably just wait without the panic....

That is an unusually long amount of time for them to come back. If this becomes a recurring thing, we'll have to see what's up.

It is, of course, possible that you have some "new issue" but e.g. if you're in a big guild and the whole time at least one person is on your ship, the instance never closes. This means that it is even possible you see no amenities repopulation after days if always someone is on your guild ship.

the repopulation delay has been updated Cordovan from 1h to 24h inclusively upon server reset.

I have experienced (Guild:): [To Guild] the bug is server reset repopulation delay

by (Guild:): [To Guild] the buffs were not repopulated to guild airship inventory as storred, cause they were changed during delay of repopulation, watch me get one month free VIP for finding old bug

waited days for GM, DM, sysop.. not resolved lost many shards worth buffs.

DURING REPOPULATION DELAY IF YOU CHANGE stored amenities to apparently empty hookpoints the server does not repopulate the buffs that were there previously nor does it return your amenities to stored guild airship inventory . BUG
NO WHERE is it written not to do this on wiki. DM is over whelmed.

even ticket response does not say ship should be empty for five minutes, no one says do not wait on ship.

P.S.: glad no one died in storm nor the servers destroyed. stay well dev's.

Please help me better understand what you are reporting. It takes up to an hour or so for guild airship amenities to repopulate following a server restart or game update. If, during that time, you change your amenity layout, then you are correct the system will use that layout going forward rather than erase the changes you made. So, if you removed all of the amenities from their hook points during the time between the worlds opening and the amenities repopulating, they will not revert to your earlier configuration. This is the way it is supposed to work: Changes you choose to make stay active.

It sounds like you are saying something else, though. Can you help me better understand what you are saying?
