UPDATE: PayPal is once again available.

We have temporarily disabled Paypal as a payment method while we investigate issues with using the service to complete purchases. We will keep you updated.

If you want to pay with Paypal in the DDO Market, your DDO Market language setting has to match your country.
Situated in Germany, i had to switch to German in the DDO Market to be able to pay with Paypal.

I know its not related so sorry for hijacking the thread but are we getting a news letter anytime soon to inform players what is to come in 2016 in game.

We've normally seen the next years letter well before now.

If you want to pay with Paypal in the DDO Market, your DDO Market language setting has to match your country.
Situated in Germany, i had to switch to German in the DDO Market to be able to pay with Paypal.

This is probably because of how paypal handles 'currencies'. Your ballance on paypal will be shown in EUR, unless you for some reason have received a US$ payment previously. Now if the marketplace is set to english, it will try to withdraw US$, which your paypal has no ballance in. It does not convert automatically, so it will not work. you can either change your marketplace currency to EUR by changing your language, or you can convert your paypal ballance (or part there off) to US$, and it will work with the US$ amount.

Would probably be more obvious if you could just change the currency in the marketplace, or if paypal asked 'do you want to convert the neccessary funds' or something, but instead paypal just fails without any explanation.

I was looking forward to purchasing a Heart of Wood until I noticed the Paypal was not accepted. I tried my Visa but that didn't work either!

This statement, as everyone living outside of the US knows, is not entirely accurate. A good 95% of my internet dealings are in US$ which are AUTOMATICALLY converted to EUR at the daily rate. Anyone who is familiar with banking will know that this is advantageous to the banking facilities, as you note sometimes it is converted immediately, sometimes it takes a day or so......they usually wind up getting the best rate over the period in question.

I have been trying for several days to renew VIP, but it doesn't work. I am in Canada, I log in, fill out billing address, click on PayPal tab, check the box, then it reverts back to the credit card info screen and says it is unable to add PayPal. I have tried clicking both language buttons (Union Jack and Stars n Stripes) still nothing. I have always used Paypal to pay for VIP and never had problem before.

I just tried to log in and was told I am now free to play! I use PayPal to play DDO. I have been playing since 2006 :mad: My crew is now running without me because I can't access my Artificer! I want to know what is going on. Oh and don't try to call them because there is no support for DDO or LOTRO, you have to submit a ticket! What is going on! I can't even submit a card to my account.

I couldn't get anything to go through the store under PayPal but I renewed my subscription with my card. So, if you want to play you are going to have to add a debit or credit card as payment.

It all has to do with those who buy yearly VIP status, like myself, and do it through PayPal.

past 24hrs later and I still don't have my VIP status back. I am VIP until July 2017

This is unnecessary in my opinion. We just want our VIP Status back. Now! We paid for it, shouldn't we be able to use it?

Nope! didn't work. Still don't have VIP back. Added another purchasing account, deleted the paypal one. Still nothing. This is a TOTALLY different problem from the thread you have listed above.

Both issues revolve around Paypal, and CS_Alkaid is on the case.

My main point was suggesting Maiomaio post a thread in the Account Management (for assistance) forum instead of Service News (for announcements) where it would be more likely to get noticed by the right people/person.
