The remnant store really lacks anything worthy of spending remnants on. Augments can be bought in GH for alot less. Considering the farm rate of mushrooms in TOEE. You could possibly sell the mushrooms for remnants. Just a thought.

What, you don't want to spend 300 remnants for a +1 stat diamond?! You don't think that's a reasonable price?!

Yeah. The prices are kinda...nutty.

Special Offerings have been rotated in several times so far.

Whats the point of them removing the "Special Items"?

The Remnant store has been severely lacking since the getgo.

And the Devs have been told about this and their solution was adding eternal potions (from the birthday cards) and cosmetic gear for a limited amount of time. And at outrageous prices, especially since Remnants only drop when you kill mobs at level. So sorry bud, in Epics you are just a level to high for us, go sit it out with the Bravery Bonus breaking guys. Don't you just love the inclusive mechanics that this game keeps adding?

The obvious three items that could be added to the vendor that people might actually buy:
1) Invisible potions
2) DDoor scrolls
3) Feather Fall potions, because apparently someone told the Devs that Feather Fall clickies are needed at endgame, and the Devs believed it

Will any of those be added to the vendor so people might spend their Remnants? Probably only the Feather Fall potion, because you know someone told the devs it was needed because they didn't know how to UMD a scroll or swap in an item with FF temporarily. Too bad, because neither Invisible potions nor DDoor scrolls are overpowered in the game.

Whats the point of them removing the "Special Items"?

They claim to be rotating them out with several "future" special items to come and the old ones returning. BTW, the old ones have returned once already, but that's because they had a ridiculous pricetag that 99.9999999% of players could never get within the few days that they were originally offered.

As for why? Shrug, they are probably using the same excuse for putting up flash sales in other games. If players think they only have a few days to buy something, they are more willing to spend now than wait until later. That tends to works a bit better with real money than digital currency with an erratic droprate. Although, it did tend to help in some previous events (Mabar and old school Winter Games), I think it doesn't work here because of two things: a static event and an already jaded playerbase that knows the items are either fluff or garbage within a few updates.

So yeah, it's a bit asinine how they have the Remnant vendor currently. The cycling in of limited time items isn't a completely bad idea, but it needs to happen routinely... And DDO is horrible at routinely. Events not being updated with new cap gear (or even new gear) for example has always been an issue. Having the event work and/or released on time is another thing that DDO continues to fail at. Heck, something as obvious as Birthday gifts this year never happened (in fact nothing but the utter failure of the preview for Mimic event was OUR anniversary gift this year).

I enjoy the remnant grind. When combined with the additional punishment of only being able to upgrade items you bought during some random period its fairly impressive!

Of course I'm impressed by a good trolling and Turbine have really got it right this time.
