View Full Version : Advice for a past-life farming build.

I decided I wanted to slip three artificer past lives into my swash build for better trap skills, but after looking at the artificer class.... my brain broke because I just don't really see anything that looks fun or good from the class, and I HATE bows/crossbows as a personal issue. So I was wondering if this kind of a build would work, and if anyone has any insight into this idea.

12 Art/5 Wiz/3 Bard SWF Eldritch Knight.

The idea of this build would be to use EK and Swash together to make an int based SWF character with strong skills and decent defense to enable reliable soloing as well as strong group benefit. You could get good dodge, int to hit and damage, solid AC and PRR, and with level 5 wiz perma tenser's just for the PL farming. You would also get trap skills from arti.

My question is does someone have a more realible chain Elite soloing build for 1-20, or any insight on a better way to grab some fast arti past lives.

EDIT: I already have a full progression of items for SWF and swash build farming with level 4/8/12/16/20 Swashbuckler from Crystal Cove and several short swords and other good light weapons.

Try 2 fighter, 18 arti Dwarf and use Dwarven axes. I found that even fleshy artificers can self heal fairly well especially once you get higher in level. Invest in Con and Intelligence and using enhancements for axes, choosing either con or int for damage and investing in your rune arm while using heavy armor you will be good to go. Of course you will always have a use for your repeater no matter if you shrug it off or not. I would even hot key both weapon sets for easy access so you can come in shooting and finish off slashing while prompting a third easy key for rune arm. Be heavy artillery instead of squishy that way. Remember the higher level in artificer you go the more powerful your rune arm gets.

You can adjust enhancements as you like but I think this is a well rounded Dwarven arti...if you have intelligence tomes I personally would invest in jump and/or heal for scroll use. New Build

id probaly go 10 arti, 7 bard, 3 fighter, intelegence build

3 fighter for the stalwart defence
7 bard for swash goodies and haste and displacement
10 arti for some trap stuff and 2 free feats and arti past life.
