Past Lives: Many (paladin, monk, artificer, rogue, (Barbarian, FvS and Sorc would also be helpful)(PDK and Divine for PRR)
Gear Level: Advanced/Extensive
Survivability: Excellent
DPS: Excellent
Utility: Excellent
Traps: Excellent
P2P: Yes - Harper (the build calls for Shadow-kai but can be used on any race)
Tomes: +5 / and skill tomes for trapping skills (disable, open, search, spot)
***UPDATED*** to MK VI

started working on completing Martial past lives so switched over to Legendary Dreadnought.

Tried Supreme cleave - but WAY too many buttons to smash.
Streamlined skills for easier leveling (no more headaches while wielding a ruler)

So far has been a NO-FAIL epic elite trapper - only annoyance is having to leave rage to trap (except unlock which weirdly still works while raged).

Finally experienced the potion bug / rage --- and it is kinda annoying.

Miss the sprint boost - and shadow-kai seem to run funny - kinda like hopping/running.

Make sure to have a spell point item - because Know the Angles is rocking and rolling the DPS. :D Also think it counts towards Master's Blitz as an 'action boost'. Uurlock's Con-Op item gives plenty (and keeps refilling the bottle so to speak).

Wand of Shield (lv10) very handy! As are Wands of Expedient Retreat (lv10)

***UPDATED*** to MK IV
switched to 18/2 barbarian / rogue.
switched from 2HF to 2WF (can switch to bigger sword if need be. :P)
stayed light armor for evasion (can switch to heavier if need be)

Thinking of trying out Occult Slayer and Frenzied Berserker (or shifting more emphasis to them)
Thinking of switching from Divine Crusader to Fury of the Wild.

SO Uurlock is about to leave PDK Bard and head into SK (Shadow-kai) Barbarian. Like the initial rogue level and want to be self-sufficient trapper for epics. Just quick 15 to 28, rinse repeat x2.

Probably going to use Divine Crusader for crusade, else Unyielding Sentinel - but am open to suggestions.

SO goals: self-sufficient, evasion, traps, INT based, DPS, survivability.

Have +6 tomes, and +4 skill tomes on rogue skills.

Have gear for THF TWF SWP and S+B and rogue skills.

Suggestions kindly.

I don't see Extend Spell, so w/out caster-level bonuses it will be 7 * 6 = 42 secs.

problems that i see with the build. are you gonna rage or not? crit rage only works while raging
empower/maximize/mental toughness/cocoon seem to indicate you won't rage much

few ideas
1) barbarian cores are tasty, and you're taking only 11 levels. maybe ditch evasion and go heavy armor. Replace second rogue level with barb. Or replace both rog levels with Artificer 1.

2) replace wizard with swashbuckler. lose ddoor, gain DPS. easier on skills as well. could be STR-based with KtA. maybe slightly different split as mentioned here: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/452484 (scroll down for more mature builds).

Divine Crusader passive healing + Ravager Blood Strength should offer enough hjealz while raged, and you'll have Consecration for oh-**** moments.

empower and maximize being replaced with extend and another melee specific feat. Raging is part of the plan.

Can't remove initial level of rogue because not going to reincarnate after reincarnate to remove it. (Shadow-kai start with one level of rogue). Since already have rogue, might as well make sure can not only survive EE traps, but spot,find,disable them - so need Intelligence as a core key ability. So Harper is in for the INT to-hit and damage (plus bonuses to skills and allot of other things).

I have read and bookmarked (into the Barb Build Folder) swashbuckling evasion barb - and have given it serious thought. Since currently doing a swashbuckling PDK Bard ( https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/443235-The-Count-of-Monte-Cristo-dps-CC-survivability-focused-pure-swashbuckler ) have all the gear and weapons. I might do that build after this life, since have 3 SK Barbarian lives to live. :P

I would prefer more barbarian levels, and to use artificer instead of rogue (except rogue melee pass coming with U25 and will probably hold off IRing into SK Barb until then (just do ER's to get more epic past lives done) but that initial SK level is sticking. This is good because the lack of competent rogues is driving me up a wall and costing that beloved +30% xp bonus. :P

Divine Crusader passive healing + Ravager Blood Strength - and have Consecration on speed dial. :D That was the plan.
Have 4 twists and plenty of fate points to spend - so twisting in some Lay Waste / Momentum Swing for that OMG***BBQDPS... especially with an eSoS.

PS 7 levels of wizard are for level 4 spells; could do only 6 to get displacement from Archmage Specialization III and use that level for Barbarian. Same thing with rogue could do only 1 level and use the other level for Barbarian.

Why don't you do barb 12 / wiz 7 / rog 1, squeeze in hvy armor prof, go STR-based and just skip Evasion+Insightful Reflexes entirely?

with only 1 rogue AND not int based - not going to be able to trap EE without lots of help. on a lesser note - barbarian in heavy armor just goes against everything I remember about the original PnP barbarian - the Conan archtype. :P

well, as long as possible. will wear madstone boots and black dragon hide also for that fun. :D

well - didn't realize (first time really playing a Barbarian) - that rage prevents displacement (even the SLA) - etc. Prevents Cocoon...

so why have Wizard in there at all?

So - simplifies build - no spell points - etc. now wondering if medium to heavy armor a good thing to switch over too as well?

Trap skills - should be able to handle the hardest traps on EE.

Remaining 2H but the question also is : Light/Medium/Heavy armor? Don't have to worry about ASF - so just skills - and heavy armor might hurt skills, and prevent evasion - but.... comments welcome.

I know you've backed off of your original goal but swapping bard in for your original wiz levels has more synergy and would let you keep trapping skills. Warchanter could get you fatigue immunity so you don't have to go all the way to tireless rage and along the way a decent boost to positive spellpower for sacred ground. You would still at least have access to short haste and displacement and bard has the option of empower heal for cocoon.

excellent points. didn't realize the tireless rage... and empowered healing - and positive healing...

will pick through this thread and maybe incorporate 3-6 levels of bard. Some have suggested 15-3-2 split.

since the barb pass i personally see no reason to ever have less than 18 barb. its just so good and taking less to pick up more levels of a non uber class doesnt make you stronger at all it makes you weaker. bard could be the only exception to this, but i dont swashbuckle so to me its a moot point.

i dont see wizard bringing anything useful to the table.

if flavor is more important than max power then obviously it doesnt matter, this is just my opinion.

Updating original posting. Am also now considering Fury of the Wild instead of Divine Crusader. 8 cleaves/melee attacks is just too many buttons. :P

Master's Blitz feels like a no-brainer for Barbarian due to the massive boost in Melee power that is sustainable over the course of a dungeon, not to mention the +30 PRR that really helps boost defense. Also I understand that you want to do traps but you're sacrificing a massive amount of damage by going INT based instead of STR based for damage because; To go Int based you need to pile points into Harper where you could be dropping points into tasty stuff in a second barb tree and for the more simple reason, it is much much easier to achieve and impressive STR than it is to get an even halfway decent INT, at least on a Barbarian. You can still pump points into INT, iirc you can have 3-4 stats starting at 16 which should be fine for INT, STR and CON to start at. After that a good tome (+4-6), making sure you have Insightful Items and a +11 INT item etc. should be more than enough alongisde a +20 Disable item to manage most EE traps, especcially if you have Arti past lives and the Skills epic past life from Martial sphere.

I agree with you and if was just doing a normal race / non-themed would gladly enjoy going full bore barbarian. If Uurlock was going to stick around at cap for an extended period and DPS was a concern - then would also consider going full bore barbarian.

However, since Shadow-kai comes with 1st level being rogue, and am not willing to waste 3 +1 LR hearts over the course of the 3 lives, nor waste my time doing those three LR+1 to eliminate those level.

Finally, I do not want to play the stereotypical barbarian. *grunt* swing *grunt* swing. This totally fits my playstyle so am game to try it out. :D

As it stands - there is a dearth / lack of competent rogues in the times/server/circles I normally play. So since already stuck with one level of rogue, am willing to loose 10% overall DPS to gain 30% xp boost (traps).

Have considered using Master's Blitz - but am contemplating using Fury of the Wild for thematic (and have an irrational dislike of master's blitz)

With that being said - will see what U25 and life #2 brings. :D

I had wanted Primal Sphere so could ER and finish Fast Healing (1 done, 2 to go) but see advantages of getting Martial Sphere done with this build.

Will decide once take level 23 or 25, but with how this build is performing, probably will stick around and do 1-3 ER's before IR.

empower/maximize/mental toughness/cocoon seem to indicate you won't rage much.

Pot and spell rage trigger blood rage and ravager core 1. I haven't looked to see if they affect crit rage.

few ideas
1) barbarian cores are tasty, and you're taking only 11 levels. maybe ditch evasion and go heavy armor. Replace second rogue level with barb. Or replace both rog levels with Artificer 1.

2) replace wizard with swashbuckler. lose ddoor, gain DPS. easier on skills as well. could be STR-based with KtA. maybe slightly different split as mentioned here: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/452484 (scroll down for more mature builds).

Divine Crusader passive healing + Ravager Blood Strength should offer enough hjealz while raged, and you'll have Consecration for oh-**** moments.

Blood Strength, Ravager, and other rage abilities work spell raged or pot raged. So this can be worked around.

Blood Strength, Ravager, and other rage abilities work spell raged or pot raged. So this can be worked around.

been having one of them myself. thanks again for the input! the build is a blast so far... just 3 more ER's (ok maybe 5-6) then two IR's and onto Sorc.

Been a blast. very fun build.

Suggestion from someone in a PUG - use guild potions (for remove curse, cure disease, poison neutralization, rage) - and love it... made life so much easier.

Celestia - wow... great sword... slotted a sapphire of +2 luck because couldn't find anything else good for there.

Finished last epic past life feat in martial, so now have both martial and divine times three. Ontoward to Sorcerer lives and finishing the remaining Primal and Arcane epic past live feats.
